Is the Decked Drawer System worth $1,400?! + MODS!

Hey! This is my Daily truck, but I camp and off-road a lot with it. For any major construction projects, I just bring the trailer. So I, wanting to make storage of my tools and items much more convenient, decided to try out the Decked Drawer System. 😊 In this video I set it up for my truck and talk about a few MODs that I’ve made. BAK Industries Revolver X2 Sucks? Why?

Hey! I really wanted to like this truck bed cover and used it for 5 years, (not 3yrs). Most of this was because I just didn’t want to give up on it. But I’ll Get Over It! In short, it just doesn’t hold up to real world use. There are newer versions of this out now so I’m hoping that these issues have been fixed. If you’re looking at getting this or a new one for yourself, keep an eye out for th...

    Question: the anchors in the side utility track you got, could you remove or add them before you cut the top platform? It looks like the top platform would allow them to slide but not to be added or removed. I'm thinking about this product but I can't live without my utility track anchors. Thx.

      I bought mine new. Installed on F350 with a Thule TracRac SR. It all worked very well together for about 4 years. It was very water tight for the most part and I (even now) have had very few problems with it not closing or buckling. But after 4 years, in the same winter/summer location, the glue suddenly started giving way. The black vinyl covering just began to shrink quite a bit, and even if I were to glue it down, there's no way to stretch it far enough anymore. It now looks like crap. 3 year warranty long gone as I'm now in year 5. It still covers my cargo ok, but it's hideous. Junk construction and no excuse for this.

    OMG, MAN…….then you have spray painted wheels and those bumpers!!!!! What the fuck man. Oh, the humanity….you can’t open the drawers with the tailgate up!?!?!? NO SHIT!!! I’m surprised you didn’t get a sawzall and hack off your tailgate. I think that everybody who’s watched this video has the opinion that you should go and engineer your own bed deck drawer system since all of your ideas are so much better than what this man put out your truck is a joke.

    My dude! I work in industrial plants that require FR (Fire Resistant) clothing. Well, they don't make FR pants with knee pad pockets. After watching your video, I decided to cut up some old jeans to make my own knee pad pockets with. Now I have 6 pairs of my favorite Carhartt FR pants that have internal knee pad slots. And the fatigue mat works great. So cheap and you get so many pairs out of it. Kneeling on steel grating, scaffolding, steel tanks, concrete, wood..my knees have never been happier at work. And after one day, the mat does start to mould to your knee for a perfect fit. Very much appreciated.

    I appreciate the design of this, but will be trying to make my own pocket on existing (heavy) jeans or just sew a set into the jeans w/o a "pad pocket". I fabricate and repair boat canvas, and other heavy duty applications, and instead of having a huge table in an even bigger workroom, I have to lay everything out on my basement floor, which is covered in indoor/outdoor carpeting. I have blue knees already, so I will let you know what works for me, But the hourglass design is very helpful. Thanks!

      yes! I've noticed that I wear them allllll the freaking time. They can bulge in the pant so not great for your social occasions but very functional. I would recommend making 2 sets at the time. I use them so much that I probably go through 2-4 sets a year and its just more convenient to have them premade and slip them in as needed.

    Curious, does the valve hold the line pressure after the unit is turned off? Was considering this for an air suspension system connected directly, would be great if you could inflate the bags and they stay lifted after the unit is off, but if it releases the pressure that wouldn't work..

    • @chrisjohnsonphotography163
      @chrisjohnsonphotography163 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just installed one. From preliminary testing, it seems that unless the release solenoid is powered, it won't let out air, therefore off = no problem (assuming no leakage loss in your air system)
