The Hoffman Kiln

If you think you've seen lime kilns, then you need to see this Lime Kiln - the Hoffman Lime Kiln. It's found near Langcliffe Village, in the Yorkshire Dales. This is now a monument maintained by North Yorkshire County Council and is free to visit. Visually stunning while being very accessible. Starring Colin as the intrepid explorer!

My second car camping trip; this time to Derbyshire with Ang and Pip. The weather was rainy and windy, apart from when we arrived and, of course, as we were leaving! Despite the wet it was a fun experience. Just wish I'd been able to capture more footage of the trip!
Fell Foot Park

Proper nice lay-by spot there (seemed to lose audio after the bag of rubbish, but came back 😊)
It does, it was me playing with the sound recording - I bought some clip on mics, so some vid is shot with no mic and other bits with the clip on mic. Hopefully, one day all this play will mean a smoother video :D

I was driving passed one day and saw a camper in the spot so I was really happy to come out a couple of months later and bag it for myself! It’s a baofeng uv5r. I’ve had a ham radio licence a couple of years now but just use that little handheld. I didn’t get any contact from that particular spot, though it was about 6am when I was calling! 😊
@@SilverCarCamper ooh are they ones that you don’t need a license for?
@zafiracamper That one does need a licence to transmit. I do remember though having a cb radio back in the early 80s! Fun times!
@@SilverCarCamper that was the era I always wanted one 😂 I only have a couple of old beofeng PMR 446s - used to be good fun to annoy the bouncers in town with 😂

Always cool to see a different angle of a spot I’ve seen other TH-camrs at over the years 🙏 Matter of interest, what phone are you filming on?
Any evening I’ve driven past there’s always been a few campers there, except for the night I stopped there, it was just me 😅. My phone is an Oppo Find. I do use a Canon M50 mkii occasionally, though the phone is much less fuss.
@@SilverCarCamper Always the way 😂 (which model oppo do you have? Only asking as interested to see if you can activate an image stability mode)
@@zafiracamper Find X3 lite. I’m pretty sure I already activated stabilisation though I’m going to check again…to be honest I just thought it was rubbish, but perhaps I didn’t set it up right! 🤣
@@SilverCarCamper I’m so out of touch, I’ve never heard of Oppo - I’ve been an iPhone user for many moons so don’t bother looking around at other ones. Defo worth checking to see if it is still on, as will make a massive difference to your vids. I really enjoyed this one and watched all the way through - it’s just getting that image a little smoother then you’ll be spot on ❤️
Oh I turned on Open Camera’s EIS when my phone has optical Image Stabilisation so maybe that’s the issue. I can test that. Thank you for your help! ❤️
Setup is looking excellent, interested to see how it evolves next.
I'm still very conscious of the wobbly camera work - need to either not walk when videoing or to buy stabiliser or that camera you recommended!

Thank you for sharing. I like simplicity . Its easy , fast and simple . I do not like to prepare my car days before and fill it with stuff I maybe could need.
My car is kept ready for camping, mainly because I don’t have a lot of storage space in my home. Simplicity is essential really as otherwise I’m always having to move things around in the small space in the car!
