Thank you for your reaction! 💕 I‘m still so mad to this day that they disbanded right after Hate, because at the time I felt like they had really found their sound with Crazy/Hate. Also members like Jihyun and Sohyun finally seemed more comfortable and confident, Jiyoon‘s rap got better with every song and in general they had such great chemistry in the end. There was also a lot of international hype for Crazy/Hate, but Cube (as always) had to fumble the bag… In general a lot of 2nd gen groups seemed to have vanished at their peak, like 4M, Miss A, After School and Secret. 😢❤

Hate was, sadly, the song and mv that killed 4Minute. The members knew they were taking a chance because it was so different, but it's something that they felt strongly about. In fact, before they released the mv they released a short video asking their fans to please give the song a chance because they didn't know what would happen if the song failed. Even though the song sold just over 250k, it was their worst title track by far in terms of sales - also it followed Crazy a big success. Their company also spent a lot of money on the mv. Now it's likely that Hyuna would have ended up leaving at some point, but she realized that the company was never going to be happy again - and that was the beginning of the end.
