Listening to a prophet who says to do something against a Torah commandment in the example of Elijah the prophet was not cancelling a law. It was doing an action one time. I thought you would start with Islamic understanding of salvation, if at all it exists. The Christian mainstream understanding is God loved us and created us in his image to know Him and love Him. It was Satan who tempted Eve. There is no confusion there for Christians. In Gen 3:15 God holds Satan (serpent) accountable and reveals his impending punishment. Why is it considered a sin? because Adam disobeyed the explicit "But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat. For in what day soever thou shalt eat of it, thou shalt die the death." . This command was BEFORE and not AFTER he ate.
