Before TH-cam existed I used to collect interesting TV and film clips on VHS, DVD and even some laserdiscs. Why? You’d never know when, or if, you’d see it again.
Now I’m sifting through that very varied collection - some of it gold, some of it of questionable taste - and posting it here.
Also take a look at my other channel @SprocketList where I’ve done some longer edits on various subjects.

My best clean-up and upscale of a low-quality VHS so far! | 1997 BBC World Business Report (in full)
มุมมอง 4952 หลายเดือนก่อน
UPSCALED BBC World Business Report, 1st September 1997 - 710 x 576 25p VHS recording denoised using Topaz 'Proteus' and then exported at a higher resolution 60fps on Final Cut Pro. I overlayed a PNG of the 'BBC WORLD' DOG (digital on-screen graphic). I think this is the best, most natural-looking, clean-up, and upscale of a low-quality VHS recording I've done so far. See an example of a non-ups...

BBC World Business Report: Titles and branding 1990s to 2024 - BBC News retired the 'WBR' brand, after more than 30 years, on Tuesday 7th May 2024. I had no idea World Business Report was ditched as a brand (until I saw @hoanganhkheo-editor mention it). It was a weirdly comforting show years ago, seeing it on BBC World when in a foreign hotel room. I already had some of the old branding in my a...

He was as amazing as Lestat. I'm not a Tom Cruise fan at all. Brad Pitt was sore to my eye in that movie. Tom killed it. And he's not an egotistical jerk. He shows real empathy for the writer here.
He looks like Ibrahimovic !
This is such a great film.
What a gracious and empathetic answer
Delighted with his depiction. Prefer it to the series. Both have their strengths. His answer is dignified and a class act.
THE MOVIE IS A MASTERPIECE.❤
I cant watch this even now.....its been 23+ years and my anxiety level watching this is off the scale. I made it 12 minutes. On the anniversary I cant watch tv because If I see anything about 9/11 my anxiety is insane. I have to just go outside for fresh air.
I didn't like him as Lestat either. And her losing her daughter has nothing to do with any of this..
Such a great film. Glad she liked it and said they never followed up to it with the others and the same actors
That was tom cruise's best role ever
Amazing film, loved him in this so much and Brad Pitt, Kirsten Dunst and Christian Slater. Great actors. Wonderful movie.
I watch the film then read the book. Typically your entry into a series is done in reverse. That’s how good interview with the Vampire is. Ann Rice books are great by the way. Highly recommend them.
G-BOAF, the last Concorde built, being the airframe here. What a beautiful site she is as she takes to the sky.
What an incredible actor. What an American treasure. I always wished I could be as cool as him growing up. Man has he always given commanding performances. Bravo to him for such on point elegant words. A class act.
its his best role hands down
One of the best movies and casts ever. Amazing story. Incredible writer. Everything about it was perfect. Was the first “adult” movie I was ever allowed to watch, and I fell in love with the genre and film in general.
I've been trying to decipher what them Fathers4Justice protesters were chanting in their slogans; I managed to interpret that the start from the male protester was: "Law is the jackpot! Law is the jackpot! Fathers4Justice! Don't play! Don't play it! Don't play it! Fathers4Justice! Don't play family law lotto! Fathers4Justice! Don't play family law lotto! Do not gamble! Family law lotto!" And what I interpreted from Nadine O'Connor, the first female Fathers4Judtice protester was: "Family Law Lotto, next time it could've been you!"
I'm not even a huge Tom cruise fan, but Anyone can see he was the best part of that movie. Great performance. And he was very curteous, he didn't owe her any explanation.
I loved it and it will always be a classic
This role was one of his best roles actually it made me think highly of him as an actor
He is the best Lestat. He did amazing, and the fact he didnt have the support of the author makes it more incredible. He actually studied the character and proved everyone who doubted his casting wrong. Thats an actor.
He's right. Anne knows nothing about acting. Only story telling. 👍
Easy to dislike tom cruise
Was Tom, Zlatan
Yeah he was way too cheesy for that role.
Tom Cruise should have kept this look he looks really sexy here and I don't think he's sexy but he looks sexy here.
Thank Goodness one more limp brained attempt at stirring hate against blond, blue eyed people was foiled
I loved Tom Cruise as Lestat. Literally the only role of him I've ever loved.
She had imagined Rutger Hauer as Lestat.
Great movie , RIP Anne Rice
Oh she would really hate the casting for it now..
I wanted Sting in that role. I was wrong.
I also dislike this dude anne
Wait... Was Zlatan also an actor?
She was very protective of those characters and the story, and she had every right to be. She was fortunate that those filmmakers worked so hard to stay faithful to the source material. Fan fiction later boomed online, and I remember that she was upset that people were writing their own stories using her characters. I don’t think she was wrong in that area either because most of the time the writing was awful and completely missed the mark as potential add-ons to her books. Later when they were filming Queen of The Damned, she did put up a supportive front for promotional reasons. Well after the movie proved to be a box office flop, she admitted that she hated that movie from early on in production. Again, she wasn’t wrong. The filmmakers tried to take two very fat novels, The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned, and tried to abridge them into a 90 minute movie. 😣 Aaliyah was good as Akasha despite the script, imo. May she rest in peace. Though, I wonder what Anne would think about the new TV series? The writers changed quite a few details for modern audiences, but the personalities and much of the bones of the original story are there and well written.
Brilliant performance.
Lestat has always bin my fav 😂❤
Story of child molesting..? That's sick
Orgasmically happy is crazy work
Man was he gorgeous 😘🥰
Tom Cruise would make a successful cult leader.
Damn handsome here. Youth is nice
I thought he was okay for the part, but I hated him with blonde hair
B&N FSTV only has regional franchise names does use national ones
I can only imagine she's rolling in her grave about what they did with her book in the TV series.
Best vampire story ever and Cruz was good...everyone was
Tom cruise rocked Lestat.🧛♂️He beast moded his portrayal of the character to perfection, as he does all his roles. Is the dude a little eccentric? Yes. Is he obsessed with creepy AF Scientology? Yes. But you can't knock the man's acting. He is phenomenal.
I like Cruise but I thought they should have used unknowns instead of him, Brad Pitt, and Antonio Banderas OR used Julian Sands as Lestat.
