Thank you for having me on your channel, so nice to catch up with you 🥰
Thank you!
Love this to read with it in the background
Thank you
Hello dear, I noticed that you have designed thumbnails for your TH-cam videos from Fiverr, and I have audited your TH-cam channel. I found that the quality of your content is very good, and I have learned a lot from you. However, during the audit, I identified some issues with your channel. If you would like, I can share those issues with you.
Perfect for this season!
Thank you!
Thanks for the forecast! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
.
All prospective students and parents should think carefully about this issue! Especially as your newer videos discuss how it doesn’t get any easier after qualifying either! Medicine is definitely a ‘go in eyes open’ career isn’t it?
Yeah I think you definitely have to be sure and my update to this would be my challenges of surgery video
How common is working LTFT now in surgery? Do you have to give a reason or is the culture changing to more what it is like in other specialties that are more stereotypically family friendly e.g. GP, paeds etc? Thanks!
100% the culture is changing. It was that there was a specific reason eg caring responsibilities where as in GP etc you didn't have to give a reason. Most people without children are not LTFT because it slows training down so much, but there has definitely been an attitude shift in terms of understanding - and that well rested docs make better docs
Actually could you please tell me that can we do taster week in another country than Uk and like could you please tell what we should mention in the certificate??
Yes I should think so. For each of these, you need to mention in the letter the criteria set out here medical.hee.nhs.uk/medical-training-recruitment/medical-specialty-training/surgery/core-surgery/core-surgical-training-self-assessment-scoring-guidance-for-candidates Assuming that you did do it, of course!
Hello.Could you please send what should we write in certificate /any draft about what we should mention in our surgerical placement that i have done back home in India during my internship.
If you look at the website, it tells you what criteria to include
@@DrLauren-JaneI understand the criteria but what to mention in the document??
@@chitrakshibhardwaj6582 just that, just make sure all those criteria are written into the letter, as long as you have done them.
Do you think an IMGs have good opportunities to pursue a surgical career in UK ?!
I'm actually about to film a vid about this with my friend who came from India and who now works in the UK and is a CT. Hoping to film sat so hopefully it will be up in the next few weeks - so I have a great perspective coming for you. I think there are alot of challenges as described in the vid but there are many IMGs here doing it. If you sub youll be notified when it goes up, it will be called how to work in the UK as a Surgical trainee or something similar. I hope that's helpful!
Thank you so much 🫶
Thank you! I hope you found it useful - and i wanted to highlight that we all feel like this. I almost cried when Ollie said he felt you had to destroy yourself, I definitely feel like that too!
What do you think about the challenges of medical training?
Thanks for this. Very insightful and important. It seems mad!
Thank you and it is!
I understand the need for there to be some restriction to keep a pyramid structure, but it doesn’t seem right to have a waiting list due to lack of specialists where the restriction causes that. I suppose that means it’s time for the sort of review that could lead to another ‘feast’ in the cycle to help you and others into the training you want, and which society probably needs.
Absolutely love this
thank you
Please let me know if you like these study with me videos!
I see you are working hard for your channel's video views, I am a TH-cam expert and I can help you with this. I see your videos are not properly SEO. If you do proper seo for your videos then your views will increase subscribe if you want to know anything else let me know.
Thank you
@@DrLauren-Jane Please give me your email how I can contact you to talk about your channel
This is honestly so fascinating
I thought so, the way he writes about it is so incidental, he doesn’t seem particularly surprised. I just thought it was so cool and worth sharing! I found a really cool one about a guy who was a med student in the 1880s in Whitechapel too and the police tailed him because they thought he might be Jack the Ripper. Might do a short about that too.
It’s always a juggle, isn’t it? A colleague said to me on Thursday: “Maybe this phase of life just isn’t that enjoyable”. Bleak! Here’s to making it work instead!
Oh dears!
Your video quality is very good But you are not getting enough views due to not doing video Proper SEO. (SEO means Search Engine Optimization) If you want a lot of views on your video you have to hire a video SEO expert.

Oh I’m so glad! A joy to make and I’d love to make more.
Hi, does the surgical rotation that I did during my internship ( foundation equivalent as I'm an IMG) count as surgical placement? For evidence, I have a letter stating all the dates and surgical specialities signed by the programme director.
Hey, This is the criteria: I have undertaken a surgical placement (see additional notes below) during my foundation training or equivalent (minimum 12 weeks). So it sounds like it should! (Obviously I can never 100% say because I'm not an assessor) but it sounds good, just make sure your evidence is correct as per this doc medical.hee.nhs.uk/medical-training-recruitment/medical-specialty-training/surgery/core-surgery/core-surgical-training-self-assessment-scoring-guidance-for-candidates Lauren-Jane
Love reading to stuff like this !
Thank you!!
Love it
Thank you
Definitely coming back to this every time I have some work to do!
Please do!
it was very helpful 😊 can you show me an example of evidence of teaching experience?
I did have one in my original lecture but people don't like long on youtube. Something like this just make sure it hits the spec Lauren-Jane worked with local educators to create a regional/ national/ international teaching programme for medical students which was conducted in a face to face format. This ran for 8 sessions which ran from Feb to August 2023. She was able to find a gap in the teaching programme and delivered some well received content. She taught 5 of these sessions herself. I have reviewed this feedback, the teaching was well received. Yours, Cons GMC NO 182282 DATE Check the criteria on the matrix and make sure yours hits. Hope that's helpful.

I'm so glad thank you!!
I'm repeating first year. It was sad at first to see my friends go on. But being in a new cohort was better for me because the second time round I've actually only stuck to myself and nit focused on anyone else. Didn't get involved in any uni drama. At the end of the day, the people at uni are actually our colleagues and not our friends. Have I made friends? Yes. But this year I spent less time worrying about the social aspects and more time worrying about how to answer the stupid exam questions so I can pass.
It sounds like this has worked out for the better. What year are you in? Ah, yes, the silly exam questions! I remember feeling so drained and frustrated by it all. I hope you’re okay!
This will be really really useful at application time. Thanks!
You’re very welcome, thank you
