    Great video, and yeah - agreed with basically everything you’ve said here. My favorites have also been the shows that take place in the same world but tell their own separate stories. It’s just better that way imo and honestly, I bet it’s also more fun to work on that way as well for everyone involved. More creative freedom probably

      @PrimeHylian 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah totally, I think it's awesome when an adaptation goes all in on being a show / movie and it's own thing. I imagine that'd be fun to work on!

    Hell yeah, another banger of a vid! And we are definitely living in a great era for video game adaptations, with people who are actually respecting the source material (mostly). And the best and good ones try to make something new and original at least.

  • @Harvesquire
    @Harvesquire 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Really enjoyed this! I think the recent adaptation success is a good thing. It's opened up incredible stories to a whole new audience (hearing my mum tell me she enjoyed The Last of Us is something I thought I'd never hear). But I do agree - an adaptation needs to respect the source material. It's bizarre to me how the Halo show even exists. If it's going to ignore/abandon the games, then why bother using the Halo name? At that point, just make a new show entirely.

      Thanks so much bro <3 Yeah it's baffling. Kinda reminds me of the Witcher tv show and how the writers don't care for the books

    There was a time when video games were seen as illegitimate, but I think straight-to-screen adaptations are simply producers being risk-averse. You could argue that there are writers who don't respect video games, and that's valid, but that's just a case of wrong person for the job. Your title makes it seem like you have a problem with all video game adaptations, your content doesn't reflect that.

  • @armedhyde1448
    @armedhyde1448 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

    The way I see it, video game adaptations aren't really for us (gamers). The target audience is non-gamers; parents, siblings, spouses, pretty much anyone who doesn't enjoy gaming as a hobby.

    What makes Metroid so special? Well, I think it's level of attention to details. Every simple game design choice is so tastefully done with such understanding what player wants to feel. Metroid game works as immersive sim in some ways. Samus's character is so charming and interesting that you don't notice how you fully invested in the story, in her story, That’s something that I think what makes Metroid game so incredible and like no other game out there. True Metroid games are also incredibly replayable, which makes them timeless for the players. They're never getting old or boring, which makes it's incredible that 5 games in a row of 2d have the same level of quality. Consintency in quality that's also the reason what makes Metroid series so mesmirizing.

    I like to believe this also applies to how the Zelda games will be made in the future. Some may want stagnation and all Zelda games to play a certain way, but that cannot be. Apparently the next Zelda game will not return to the linear focus of gameplay. So time will laugh at some of us, who want Zelda to return to its roots of music and gameplay.

    Hey, this was beautifully paced, edited, and animated. I'm excited to continue following your work from here! This game is so thoughtfully written, the dialogue so reflective, and it all comes together and communicates such a moving worldview. (I do have to say, though, my feelings about Ganondorf and the King of Hyrule have changed with time-I think that Ganondorf gained a certain awareness of cyclic existence towards the end that the King unfortunately lacked.)

    What type of comedy would you categorize RVB in?

    • @freshxenorana263
      @freshxenorana263 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it would be a tragicomedy

    • @GrapeFlavoredAntifreeze
      @GrapeFlavoredAntifreeze 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The type of comedy is a Timbre focused sitcom, but on the whole RVB transcends far beyond comedy in general. It can be best described as a perfect characterization and discussion of the human condition and the ways different people cooperate and communicate as they try to figure out their own meaning in life. Its what makes the show not only one of the funniest and most relatable of all time, but one of the most tragic and heartbreaking, never failing to make us ugly cry when it feels like it. Its a show about Grief, Love, Identity, Tragedy, Community, and Responsibility, things every human being struggles with on a deep personal level to one extent or another. It taps into the most meaningful parts of our soul and uses that connection to try to bring different types of people closer together. A once in a century type of show.
