Jim booths (red car) team members didnt blame the hill (black car)for the incident saying: "We used 4 clips and three of the four told completely different stories. Jim's nose cam makes it look like Hill moved over on him, but the video from the following car and Hill's in car does not support that. Clearly the left edge of the track moves to the right in relation to the conventional line that Hill was driving and JIm pushed into it as it was closing up at the narrowest point". Its amazing how many fans make up their decisions without knowing the full story.

Modern sportscar have a strong carbon monocoque or shell protecting the driver. And the rest of the car is completely destructible so they can absorb the impact protecting the driver from massive trauma. If this was an old car, driver would suffer from neck and head trauma.

In my observation I see that the black Ferrari had attained a lead of slightly over a car length. He secured a line center track affording no clear and obvious point to overtake. The red Ferrari driver seemed to forget that it is his responsibility to avoid contact while attempting a pass. Turn Four (Moraine Sweep) is way beyond Station Four(4) . . . even pass Station Four-Alfa (4a), from the lead car's vantage point one can see he completes his shift to sixth gear 'n' makes NO noticeable input on steering wheel. The apex of Turn Four(4) just coms into view. He is NOT obligated to maintain a position center-track but instead continues a normal line aimed at a near blind apex. IMO, IF the driver of the black Ferrari was ruled by the SoM's to be in error, well, the video evidence seems NOT to verify THAT ruling. SIDEBAR: MY FIRST TIME TO WORK 4a was for Bikes and when they approached it appeared they were heading right for my position which startled me. Of course they veered off to complete the Moraine Sweep left into Turn Five. So . . . my point being, even when I KNEW they were going to maintain their race line I was taken back!
