We mainly fish for Carp and Bass, but do occasionally target other species like Tiger Fish, Trout, Catfish and Saltwater Species. Catching Big Bass at Arabie Dam
We went to pre-fish Arabie Dam in preparation for Thomas' Junior Divisional. The pre-fish was a great success. Thomas did very well on the first day of the divisionals, unfortunately the second day was tough.

We managed to catch our first Bronze Whaler Shark (Copper Shark) or Bronzie Shark. It took 2 hours to land the shark and me and my kids have to make turns to bring it in. What an amazing experience!! Thanks you. We used 10 ft rods. You have to bring all your own gear, including the boat.

Never worried about snakes, no I do 🤣🤣 Camper is high of the ground, with only hard surface on the lower end. So should not be a worry.

Yip, still do. But doing less carp fishing these days and more Bass.

Hey, at the moment the best bet to catch a few good fish is the right and left side of the salad bowl. Croc bay is producing loads of dinks at the moment but if you’re lucky you might pick up a big one. Mainly focus on the topwater frogs, D-shads in the olive shad colour, senkos and spinnerbait. The weightless 5or4 inch black Gary-Yamamoto senkos in the salad bowl will probably produce most the most fish in the salad bowl. The spinnerbait works in the S- bend of the dam when it is windy. Hope you catch a few giants and good luck, let us know how it goes👍🏼

Nice catches and video. What rod reel and line was used with that spinner bait for the bass?
This was in our early days of bass fishing, have no idea what we used. Today I would use a Shimano medium curado rod with a slx or curado reel and a 12 pound seagaurd red label line.

When charging a lipo in a car its best to put the lipo in a lipo bag for safety. Most rc shops sell them.
Hallo. Ek wil weet of julle dalk vir my enige advies kan gee oor rietvlei dam. Ons gaan by die huisies vang. So enige hoek aas? Voer? Diepte? Afstand? Enige iets sal help. Dankie
Ons het nog nooit by die huisies gevang nie. Maar dit raak daar vinning diep, so 30-40 meter soos ek verstaan is n goeie afstand. Ons hou SRA produkte, veral hul honey floaties en honey/caramel mieliepitte.
Voer, mieliebom of ons hou v PVA bag. Daar is n video op ons kanaal hoe ons dit maak. Spesie: pineapple tigernuts met fake maze bo op en kril boilies of popups. Oor die algemeen werk vrugte geure en kril ook goed.

Only members. A non member can only fish there if a member invited them to join the session.

Hi Edward, thanks for the positive feedback. We have not been at Rietvlei in a long time. Thomas did Junior Bass Divisionals the last couple of months and qualified for Nationals. So in short we been doing more bass fishing, but will be back at Rietvlei from April/May onwards. We found that day fishing during the colder months is much better then.
You guys can fish but the video quality sucks

Learned the thing with the light colours the hardway, pure white didn't go ass planned got swarmed with my lighting system, had daylight though😂😂😂
