Deep Blue Sea Ram 500 Quartz Watch Review
People still wear wind up watches?
Technically these are self winding watches; automatic mechanical. And yes people still wear them. Any high end luxury watch like Rolex, AP, Patek Phillip, Richard Mill, etc will be automatic mechanical. I didn’t understand it until I started wearing automatic mechanical watches; buy an entry level Swiss watch and see what happens lol you may get hooked!
If you dropped this at waist height, would the case break open?
Most likely yes, it’s not a good case. The craftsman socket set case is far better than the Gearwrench case. Although the actual tools inside the Gearwrench case are pretty good (except for all the 12-point sockets!)
Nice review. This set is great to get you out of problem spots. I recommend getting a long handle ratchet wrench at 3/4 inch so you can put the sockets on the wrench. This winter I need to design a new socket holder and 3d print it. I think if I make a better case, I will use it all the time. The only issue I had with the set is one socket had a bad spring behind the ball. They have a lifetime warranty. They will give you a new set if you bring in the whole set. I think that set will go on the close out shelf. I would test all the balls, if they work a few times they seem to hold up. I think mine was a factory defect. I use it as a specialty tool set but getting it in a nice metal case with a nice plastic tray will make it a nice go to tool set. The tool is one of the hidden treasures for the beginner home DIYer. If they redesigned the socket holder and added directions on how to use a wrench it would sell much better.
Cool video
How are these strength wise?
I’m guessing the anvil will be the weak point, not sure the actual breaking point but that might be a future video idea 💡
I would have liked it better if it was just sockets with no 1/4 drive.
Yea the limited number of 1/4” drive sockets make it a little silly to have them included with the set, those same smaller sizes could have been all 3/8” drive. I have a 3/8” drive Tekton set that I will be reviewing soon which is a much better set, although it was over twice as expensive as the craftsman set. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching!
@@PrestigeWhirlwide I meant 1/4 hex screwdriver bits, they could have added more 3/8 1/4 drive sockets instead. I like the tekton sets.
Cooking with Jake vibes 😁
Interesting
Is that dial rotated to the right? You had the bezel in two different positions and neither were centred!
So what’s the lift angle on a NH35 seiko movement?
127.4°F
53 degrees for the Seiko NH35 movement

2:00 single domed means that the outer surface of the crystal is curved while the underside is flat. double domed means that both the outside and underside of the crystal are curved. "seeing" the difference between the two is really just recognizing the lesser distortion of the dial.
Apex also makes Autozone Duralast and Home Depot Husky.
Prestige Whirlwide. What a great name, props to Step Brothers. Imma sub.
An interesting tool kit, thanks for the review!
It's just an ugly watch, sorry.
How much?
Throw that nano socket on a 17mm ratchet wrench and its really low profile. The pass threw would have been great 15 years ago when i was still a commercial electrician
Just subbed on the last video. But, anyway. I had decided to get the red handled Megadora over those, but now, i may have to get that set. I think the only functional difference is the Megadora thru-tang drivers have a hex at the base of the shaft. The rubber grips on the red ones feel really good in my hand, but i do like the look of those. Vessel actuall make two different size chissels with the yellow and black Megadora thru-tang handles. I got them a couple of weeks ago, and they are nice. You can't really use them for screwdrivers, but they have come in uber-handy many times for me so far. There's actually a few Japanese tool companies I've been very impressed with, quality, and price wise. I've picked up some tools from Vessel and Koken so far, but I would be more than willing to get more. Good videos, my freind.
Klein has always been pretty great quality for me. I wish they'd start offering some with JIS tips. I've been looking to buy one of their precision drivers like that one. Found one on Amazon that comes with quite a few different bits for it, in its own case. I like that set you've got as well. A person could always buy some different bits. I didn't know Klein was doing any manufacturing in Taiwan. It doesn't really bother me too bad, I've got some great quality tools from there.
I work on atv's quite a bit, along with everything else, and the screws on Japanese ones are all JIS head screws. The Vessel brand are all JIS tip screwdrivers, made in japan and high quality. They've become my new favorite brand driver. I've got a set of the Megadora impact screwdrivers, a couple of different size Megadora chissel screwdrivers, the plastic clip removal tool with a Megadora handle and, im getting the Big set of red handle Megadora thru-tang screwdrivers. They work just as well on regular Phillips head screws, too. I really enjoy using the impact screwdrivers on powersports carbs because if it's older, the screws are always stripped out from people using regular phillips tipped drivers to take them apart.
Mr. Whirlwide, it looks like we’re interested in many similar tools! Is there a ball bearing in the ball grip that allows it to spin against your palm?
Lately, I've been gathering tools to put one of these together for my Honda Rubicon atv. I'll be using a small 18" weatherproof toolbox for mine, though. I have a tool roll, but i can't take a chance on my tools getting wet out on the trails.
Nice review Mr. Whirlwide! Freshly subscribed. How do you feel about Craftsman’s gunmetal chrome tools?
I actually have a craftsman gunmetal socket set that I will be reviewing soon! Thanks for subscribing!
It's a 36tooth, not a 38 tooth ratchet, the 38 in the part number is because its a 3/8" drive ratchet.
Makes sense; thanks for clarifying 👍
Subscribed!
This would be great for a tool drawer in the house!
You forgot klein
Klein is so mid tbh
Those Pittsburghs are the WORST. Shaft is too skinny. They’re mushed into those triangular handle at all sorts of ridiculous angles. The WORST screwdrivers I’ve ever used. And so, like you, I went on a mission to find a better set by buying one of several different brands. My favorites, so far, are by Wiha. I REALLY appreciate the power I can get on the handle. They’re the best handle/grip/tip combo I’ve come across. The Vessel tips are amazing!
Apex Tool Group owns both Gearwrench and SATA.
As clearly stated in the video after 1:08
Precisely
Not a fan of the blue point ratchet handle
Boats and hoes😆
It's not clear why you chose to stop with a lot of the screwdrivers, the drivers weren't camming out or stripping the screw heads or anything, so I don't really know what this test proves.
That is a valid point. I will do a part 2 with a doubled up 2x4 so the screws can go deeper. I think 3 of them were stopped by the LVP on my film set, so with 2 2x4 to drive the screws into, I think I can get you guys some more accurate results
No Klein tools? :(
I have a Klein multi screwdriver, I plan to do a part two to this screwdriver showdown for a couple reasons, first of which i think some of the screws were stopped by the LVP below the 2x4 so I’ll double up the 2x4 so they can drive in deeper. And the Vessel wood compo screwdriver was accidentally a #1 drive instead of a #2 drive. I will include the Klein in the part two. Coming soon!
@@PrestigeWhirlwide awesome
Didn’t think the vessel screwdrivers would be counted, as they’re JIS not Phillips
Good point, I did forget to mention the Vessel screwdrivers are JIS drive. However they performed exceptionally well on this test so there is a reason to have them included in the test; in case anyone is wondering if JIS can work on a regular #2 Phillips screw, the answer is yes 👍
@@PrestigeWhirlwideknew that, doesn’t work the other way, Phillips wear out the screw heads on bicycle derailleur and Japanese motorbikes
Sorry to sound like an idiot here but what is JIS? And how does that differ from Phillips? I know that “Google is my friend” but it’s late and I’d like to think that you two are also my friends. Now, what’s the deal?!
@@stansbruv3169 JIS is Japanese industrial standard, the screws and screwdrivers have a slightly different head to Phillips screws, use a Phillips on JIS and it chews the head of the screw, Japanese cars, motorbikes have them as fittings obviously, and adjustment screws on shimano bicycle derailleurs are JIS as well. You can tell JIS screws from Phillips head because the JIS usually have a little dimple on the head. There’s videos on TH-cam showing the difference. Also DIN 5260-ph/ ISO 8763-1 are the standard most crosshead drivers are made to now, and this is equivalent to JIS and will work on both types of screws
@@Thecrazyvaclav You are amazing bruv. Thank you for the education. I’ll learn more and make you proud!

I’m not sure if it’s THAT funny but thanks!! 😂
Really nice tools. Iam maybe your first swedish follower.
Welcome aboard!
lol. Love your opening logo.
Thanks!
nice box.
I purchased the BRAUN light back in like May when it was on sale from $29.99 down to $19.99 and I recently bought the ICON folding like on sale for $27 but I really prefer the cheaper BRAUN light because the way you can fold the head either direction while the ICON you can only fold it in one. So I am happy with the BRAUN in this purchase.
The Braun light is definitely worth the money, especially when it’s on sale. I use it pretty often and it puts out a nice bright wide angle light
I will soon do an in-depth review of the time grapher, stay tuned!
That is very cool; I also subscribed!
Cool tour, hey if it works its not all crap or junk. Flex what ya got brother 💪🏼
