I was there in September, I also wanted to do a balloon ride, but the first day it was cancelled, and the next day they suddenly wanted more money (400€ instead of 280), then we said no , it's too much. But it still was a beautiful trip, with nice hikes, impressive views and delicious food

Очень грустно, конечно, смотреть, как действительно исконно русские произведения архитектурного искусства находятся в запустении в маленьких городах, не реставрируются... А Спас-на-Крови в СПБ вечно в строительных лесах ))) К сожалению, местные власти на периферии не сильно забоятся культурой... иногда сложно понять, о чем они вообще заботятся...

I was lucky to be able to fly it last december. Maybe because of winter, we only left the hotel at 7am. Stayed in capadocia 2 nights and get to flew the balloon on my first day there. I payed US280. It was priceless experienced. Just amazing sceneries. Supposed to take another hot air balloon ride in Pamukale but was cancelled due to bad weather.

Very interesting. I am Srilankan. If you go through the massive stupa s at anuradhapura Kingdom can easily say 20 years was more than enough for a KING to build Sigiriya. Much before Sigiriya. RUWANWELISEYA ABAYAGIRIYA JETHAWANARAMAYA. LOWAMAHAPAYA( 7 story) And many huge lakes were constructed by various KINGS KIGN KASHEPA s father KING DATHUSENA BUILT THE GREATEST LAKE IN SRILANKA. NAMELY KALAWEWA. THOSE masive STUPAS were just second to height of the PYRAMIDS in EGYPT by few feets of that era. If you do a real research about anuradhapura city planning. You will be able to find answers how Sinhaleese civilisation of ancient Srilanka .they were technologically genius. And excellent in architecture and building of any structures . i love your interest and passion on the archeological and architectural aspects of Sigiriya rather than treating it as just a rock to climb like most tourists. but u shouldn't be surprised on the architecture and urban design of Sinhalese. if u consider the a great Anuradhapura epoch. specially maha vihara complex . a planned town consisted of buildings that were several stories high designed based on central axis (as in most modern cities)where gigantic stupas soring above (as in most modern sky scrapers)liked & subed!!! good staff #customoods #findingretreat #srilanka

Nice video, As for your questions about who built Sigiriya and why; Of course, King Kassapa built it in the 5th century A.D. and who would say King Kassapa was not the one who built it? According to the story, He killed his father Dhathusena to take the throne of the country so assumed that he got so many enemies around due to that. His crown prince stepbro Moggollana is the main contender against him and since Sri Lanka is a Buddhist-based country All monks and people of this country would've been against him as Parricide is against Buddhist values. That's would've been why Kassapa built a rock fortress-like Sigiriya as not only he can protect himself but also live like a cult of Kuvera with all those buxom ladies in his castle on top of this rock fortress as well 😊 Obviously, there can be many mysteries that had been buried more than 1500 years ago. I am actually from Sri Lanka and I can clearly the difference( Only a Sri lankan could pick up the difference, so you can say it’s similar to SL) further the landscapes were just as stunning like in here. Tea plantation patterns looked the same and some landscapes gave a vibe particularly similar to Ella in Sri Lanka. Great content and love from SL✌️
