      If you do the PGCE route, it is mainly university led with teaching placements. If you do the SCITT route, you get the qualification similar to a PGCE but you're in school the majority of the week. The main difference with scitt us how frequent you're in the classroom!

    usally people with no beleifs later in life will look into many other religions and eventually know more than most who do same with fringe religions like paganism. but i think in the british or at least the CCEA one it is very biased towards the christian one which most people are and don't care about it should focus more on the growing religions and more forign religions not the one we all have the most exposure to. my school only does christian """Marks""" Gospel and christian ethics both are useless when the mejority of us aren't christian. the other day i could have finished the chemistry unit and be revising over the break if we didn't go to the church service which i think two people mabye in my year are christian so it really just wasted my time as education should come before that. ask your students we don't care and why waste our time. sorry for the rant just would rather have done something that i will need to do for my later life. Edit: also you don't need an understanding as i have seen bigots who understand other relgions but still act like d***s you really just need a open mind and to be calm as if you need to force your relgion onto someone else or call them wrong when they beleive something different chances are that you believe your fragle relgion will crumble if you think from anyother view point and making your beleifs wrong because you defend and fight for it becaause someone isn't in yours. only with the willingness to understand comes understanding not your education.

    • @learningwithliz2661
      @learningwithliz2661 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Cillian, I think you have raised some very interesting points here. I taught at a Catholic school in England where, again, we focussed on Christianity. We did look at other world religions but I would have loved to have looked at other beliefs systems with my students, like Paganism. I think it’s down to the school to help organise your own revision time to help accommodate subjects that you are wanting to study further in later life. Maybe the rude people should have paid more attention to the debating elements of RE to learn about how to respectfully disagree with someone’s opinion, haha. Thank you for your comment!

I want to know about scitt teacher training.Will this course provide me PGCE degree certificate? Is this course also include QTS?Is this course equivalent to master degree level 7?(as i am married indian man,I have to bring my wife as dependent visa) What is general fees of this course? Is there any great opportunity after completion of this course in uk job?

    • @learningwithliz2661
      @learningwithliz2661 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Twinkle Patel, thank you for your questions. If you want the full graduation ceremony with a degree certificate after the year of training perhaps the university route would be better for you. Having said that, after your year, you will receive the equivalent of a PGCE qualification and have Qualified Teacher Status as the SCITT route is recognised across England as a legitimate training route. The Tuition fee for 2021-2022 is £9,250 for the Full Time training course, when I was doing it you applied for government funding to help pay the fees and they also gave you a maintenance loan based on your last three years income. With SCITT, you have the opportunity to complete 120 credits at a Masters in Education Level so to my knowledge, I don't think it is the equivalent of a masters level 7. However, there are great opportunities to get employed into teaching in England, especially in the science field! I hope this is useful :)

    Hi Liz, thank you for your very informative and honest account regarding SCITT. I am a career changer, , and currently taking a year out of a University based Secondary PGCE. From teacher training so far I am mindful that teaching involves planning and preparation, prior to delivering lessons, and that time spent with pupils is the tip of the ice berg. I also have previous experience in both primary and secondary schools, including main stream, and special education needs, through supply agencies and as a volunteer. I recently worked in a primary school as a cover teaching assistant. and had good feedback from the class teacher. This has led me to reconsider which route in to teaching, and which age groups I would be most suited to, and where I could make the most impact. Therefore, I have recently had a Zoom meeting with a SCITT Provider about applying for their primary school based teacher training route.

    Loved this!! I was wondering how many days a week where you in a school and how many days where you in uni?! Also, do you finish only a QTS but a PGCE too x

      Hi there, during the first term I was in school 3 days a week with one day as a hub session where I learnt pedagogy and the fifth day I was at uni! As we got into January, we no longer attended university but had 4 days in school and 1 day for the hub day! X

    Thanks for the video! I wanted to know whether with all SCITTs there are two placements or one placement? I also wanted to know whether it's possible to have a college or sixth form placement? Many thanks.

      PRAY. Hi! You have three placements throughout the year based at two different schools. You are expected to have a college or sixth form placement if the school you are placed in does not have a sixth form attached. There is also a primary school placement during the year! I hope this helps :)

      Aww thank you. I also wanted to know if you did primary or secondary? Are there any distinct differences?

      @@iOvercome2024 I did a secondary school SCITT course. The main difference with the primary one is that your placements are at different times. The course is very similar though! You still have to provide evidence bundles and have 3 placements :)

    I’m looking to do Primary SCITT next year! There are so many different options it’s so confusing! Do you get paid for SCITT / how do you apply?

    • @learningwithliz2661

      Eloise Leahy Hi! With the Sheffield SCITT which I did last year you don’t get paid for teaching however you get a bursary (depending on your subject or just as a specific primary trainee) and then you also apply for student finance as there is a part time Masters qualification too. That means the money you are living off for the year is your student maintenance loan and your bursary money. I hope this helps! Best of luck with the application process x
