Killington Opening Day - PRE SEASON HYPE
Killington is typically the first to open to skiers and snowboarders. This year was no different. I managed to make it out to Vermont to ski Killington's famous opening day for the first time. Cheers!

Ski touring / backcountry skiing Mt McLoughlin Oregon. This was my first time skiing in Oregon and skiing a volcanic peak. Skiing a volcanic peak is truly unique to the Pacific Northwest. It offers the chance for some amazing corn snow and huge amounts of continuance vertical drop. The route we skied was 3-4k vert in one shot. It was incredible. I had an amazing time skiing, shooting and editin...

My first time skiing in May was a blast! Every East Coast skier should experience spring skiing at Killington. From the corn snow, soft moguls and T-shirt weather, to the tailgating and crazy there are plenty of reasons to make the trek to Killington. In this Episode, the vail is lifted on the famous Killington Birdman. He is actually a really cool guy and was generous enough to chat with me on...

So glad I live in Tahoe!! Expecting a foot tonight, tomorrow will be Day 15
Great video Nick!!
That’s awesome I’ve hiked Mount Marcy once 15 years ago. An incredible summit. The Adirondacks are amazing. I’ve been doing lots of adventuring in the Whites the last several years, I need to get back to the Adirondacks again. From some angles they’re as beautiful if not more beautiful than the Whites are.
When will more lifts start to operate?
Headed to the beast on Thanksgiving :)
Same
Can one car camp at the lot?
Wow ,how sweet is it to have great northern open day 1!!!!
Woo hoo
saw me and my buddy in the background of this video a couple times, that was a great first day
Looked pretty good out there!
I think parts peak NH is making snow at night but in the day its 50 still 🏂🏂🏂🏂🏂🏂🏂🏂🏂🏂🏂🏂🏂
Nice camera work Nick! You da man!!
Yeww
cool video. so stoked for this season
Thanks for posting Nick! Not a skier but enjoy your videos!
Right on Nick! Great video to get psyched for the winter season. Hopefully we get lots of natural snow this year!
Hey! I have this beautiful camera too. I went out and shot a role about 5 years ago when I was just getting into photography and because it was so wobbly to look through the top view finder, I just left it on the shelf. BUT I am ready to start using it again . My question is; is there any way to adjust the exposure on this camera?? Or is it just set via the shutter speed??
I bought a Yashica A but haven't tested it with this film yet. Your photos are wonderful. Mine are here: th-cam.com/video/F_vXF2LZU4A/w-d-xo.html
What scanner do you hv?
can you tell me what each shutter speed is used for ? like is one better for indoor vs out door ? low lighting vs bright lighting ?
Pretty much. Shutter speed depends on lighting. One example, if you’re outdoors on a sunny day you’ll use a faster shutter speed like 500 or 1000. If you’re in a dim or poorly lit room you’ll want a slower shutter speed like 125. Reason for that is, you don’t need to have the shutter open for long if it’s already bright out, vs a dark room where you’ll need a slower shutter speed so that you can let more light in. Shutter speed is basically the amount of time that you let light in. You’ll either under or overexpose your pictures with the wrong setting
Awesome video! Should invest in some dry bags they are fairly cheap and makes those rainy days sooo much easier knowing your gear is dry
what if my canon doesn't have a light meature reader?
Think the film was of poor quality. An ISO (ASA) 400 by Ilford or Kentmere would rock that camera. Don’t give up on it … try the variants.
My guy needs to learn how to pole plant... Otherwise great video.
Ngl, I sucked at skiing pow when I made this 🤣
Really great video. You captured the beauty of the NE mountains for sure. What was the music? It was very cool. Thought it went very well with the video. Thanks for making this and sharing.
Nothing better than time in the adk rain or shine
Yeah that lean-to 21a is a nightmare of mosquitos!
hii how do you turn the screen on? i got mine off ebay and dont know if its just broken
Go Bills, Sabres and love the Labatt's Blue! We just got back from a week in the ADK's on Lake Pleasant and will definitely look at Raquette River as a future trip. What time of year and how were the mosquitoes and black flies? Thanks for taking us on your adventure, from a fellow Buffalonian.
what is the tripod you are using ? 😅
North Country / ADK Life for Ever
Great video of a run I've skied dozens of time, usually toward sunset, never sunrise. I love your ski pole click at the beginning of each segment - I have the same habit. Summitting is a rush, but the best snow for skiing is in the alpine zone and below treeline
“Now you have your film loaded” yes!! Exactly the step I was at and now I know I found the right video!!
I found something in the ADK you should see and keep an eye out for.Check my page.
Thanks for a Great ride !!
Sking the road without a helmet is a really, really bad idea especially in thin conditions. I have bottomed out more times than I care to remember over more years than I care to remember. And sometimes bottomed when conditions were good......
This is an awesome video, Nick! Did you do all 46?
Peter McKinnon inspired intro lmao
Thank you for a great video! I love paddling the pristine ADK ponds and rivers. I also love the Bills and Sabres gear.
FYI I’d cut out that drone footage and re-upload if it was taken within the wilderness boundary. That is illegal. Looks like it was within the boundary.
Incredible work on the objective, filming, and showcasing this adventure!
Right gully is so sketch. If you wreck you're gonna go hi speed into lunch rocks.
nice!
That looked to be a blast...
giant mountain is a very good adk backcountry location, it has a massive slide that covers most of the frontside of the mountain
Great effort. I've mind surfed that mountain many times on my way up to Mt. Bailey and Bachelor..
Wow!! Amazing video. Thank you for sharing. subd & liked 👍12
Looks like so much fun! I'd rather be there then sitting in my office.
Wow! So sick! Take me with you next time, I''ll bring the FPV drones.
Incredible! Way to get after it!
