Working 2 jobs in Singapore (agency + freelance) 👩🏻💻 productive 9-6 vlog, work life balance
มุมมอง 4822 หลายเดือนก่อน
Come with me on a productive work day! I work at a public relations agency by day, and freelance by night. On this day I had to pluck myself out of a slump and get cracking on work. This is how I create little moments of joy throughout the day to motivate myself on hard days ❤️ (oh and there's something special at the end for my spiritual girlies!) The Process Log is a new series where I'm docu...

watch this video if you hate your job
มุมมอง 3323 หลายเดือนก่อน
I've been there, and it's not fun. Harbouring bitterness, resentment, and even hate is detrimental to the self. I do believe that we can shift into spaces of love when we stop feeding the "hate" in our lives, whether that be the feelings we have about work, hating ourselves and how we look, or hating some part of our past. Even if you're not in an ideal situation, you can start paving the way t...

I meditated for 30 days. Here’s how my life has changed.
มุมมอง 2143 หลายเดือนก่อน
For the very first time in my life, I've kept up with a daily meditation practice for 30 days straight! Consistency is something I kinda struggle with so I'm really glad to report that I've found a deeper love and appreciation for doing the things that matter to me, even if they're not the most exciting or stimulating (like meditation haha). Being with myself each morning also put me in touch w...
Fears are ruining your dreams

Your fears are the worst thing that happened to your dreams. But it doesn't have to be that way. [VLOG] Letters to the Universe 🍂 Spend a few days with me at a spiritual retreat
มุมมอง 913 หลายเดือนก่อน
A month ago, I took a huge leap of faith (to me) and went on a spiritual retreat. The experience was life changing, not just because of what I learned at the retreat, but because I proved to myself that I CAN follow my heart and soul and live life on my own terms. As I was looking back on the footage, I couldn't help but be so so so proud of myself for moving forward with courage even though I ...

Really enjoy listening to your career stories. Take this as a learning journey, as normally we took on a few jobs before finding what we want and objective in life 😊😊. I believe in your video you have somehow found what you want in life, pursue it and give it another attempt. I am sure 2025 will be a joyous and prosperous year for you🤩🤩
New subbie and fellow 🇸🇬 ❤ Young lady, keep that 🔥 inside you and continue doing the work necessary to make things work out for yourself. Listen to your body when you gotta rest and go with the flow. Listening and acting on it are both equally important life skills. Wishing you a blessed Christmas and enjoy lots of love +fun in this holiday season🎄❤️🥳
Thank you 🥹 have a blessed Christmas too!
Serial job hopper. Strawberry gen.
My 2 cents opinion is.... She reflect on herself too much..She needs to relac..chill...just take the job as a 9 to 5 and then go enjoy life... lol...
Going to work is going to earn money. You are not going to Disneyland or watching a movie. Why should the employer employ you ? If they pay you $3k they expect you at the minimum to bring in at least $6k. Young people these days have been too sheltered to know the true hardships of their parents and grandparents when we had to struggle with grandparents support and housing loans and children's education.

You have a friend in Jesus, who will help you, will guide you, love and bless you faithfully. Turn to the God and follow Him.
You dont know what you want and so you will be always seeking that elusive something that you dont know what it is. Go get professional help or you are just wasting your life away. There are not many 7 years in one's life.
Even though it's a common message online, I needed to hear the part you said about not basing validation off of other people. Thank you.

Was thinking about you Leia and how you were doing and coping. Happy to see another of your videos here. Glad you have had your 'pitstop' and you are maximising it every day and night and wee mornings too :) you mentioned about F feelings which was a new phrase for me... and spoke about it too. Delighted you also met with ur colleagues turned friends and it has shown what you are made off. Kudos, keep it going :)

strawberry gen
Not even 30 - still young. Can also try simple entrepreneurship
Hey girl, this is the main reason why I don’t like to work under people. You’ll never have peaceful life! Secondly, it’s very difficult to climb up for career advancement even with lot’s of experience and the education we obtained! It’s just simply next to impossible! When talking about Singapore, oh my Gosh, they’re even worse. Yes, it’s called as Switzerland of Asia, however the climate of the environment is very dire! Almost everything is so harsh in Singapore. I will not live to 40’s if I’m still in Singapore 🇸🇬 What I’ve learned so far is that “Grass is not always green on the other side.” Working under people is unnecessary suffering!
The more you fall n fail what does tell you, start yr own business, anything just relied on yrself,my grandfather told me,once you walk out of the house, the money is as high as your kneecap, how you bend to pick it up.dont forget you were born with nothing n will died with nothing, just go with the flow n the bad tide will go down, you think you are worst, there are others more worst then yr suituation, just be happy it will change sooner or even better, that what live is really all about.
changing jobs so frequently is not a good thing... trend of strawberry generation... rant and rant and rant and never be contented with life.. changed 6 jobs within 4 years - gosh.. can't even take hardship and never know your purpose in life.. what a waste of my time watching strawberry gen.
I don't think any one's forcing you to watch and much less comment. Cut her some slack - every one is on their own journey to figure their own lives out. And the whole "can't take hardship" sentiment really should be reassessed in the economic realities young Singaporeans live in. Sentiments like these do perpetuate poor work environment/culture that really isn't helping younger folks find their footing. More love and less judgement can do us all good.
Notice most of the interview about hows the economies in SG are foreigners
Hey, here is some advice for you: There is a fine line between a toxic work culture and one that simply isn’t the right fit for you. It's important to find a balance. No company will be perfect, and understanding this can help you avoid job-hopping too frequently. Also, don’t get too fixated on finding the "perfect" job or something you’re passionate about. Few people achieve that. At the end of the day, we work to earn a living. As long as you’re comfortable with the pay, your colleagues (especially your bosses), and the workload, that’s a job worth sticking with.
6 jobs in 7-8yrs of your career is not looking good in your resume tbh. Try to understand and find out what you want in your career. Because in reality one can hardly find a perfect job, perfect company, perfect working environment with the perfect pay check. Something has to give way, and this is where we have to decide which would that be? Don't ever rage quit or quit without securing your next job. The reason is simple, you lose your bargaining power, you are desperate, you are more likely to make the wrong choices in the process. Work life balance is important, self love is critical. However, companies also lookout for potential candidates who are willing and able to commit themselves to stay on and not leaving after a year or so. So try to understand what you want in your career first and then commit yourself to that. Not all jobs offers the ideal pay check, so we all have to give and take and compromise somehow. All the best and I wish you find peace and joy while sorting out your career💪
I am so sorry you got laid off but I know of a place that is hiring. Can you try reaching out to me? I can link you up if necessary
This lay offs happened to anyone in round the world, stay happy & keep looking & it can be found what you want.
I did not get to see thru this particular video fully, but the beginning was very moving actually and a great idea to go back memory lane to the places u worked... hmm... I used to do alot of it to my childhood place of stay... interesting... wonderful to have us through with u in this journey of discovery and rediscovery.
I struggle alot with what u said... fear, worry, anxiety, can be daunting... thanks for sharing and keeping ur smile with it...
"I'm grateful, just grateful." came so straight from ur heart... I love nature too... the sound of birds and the wind, the smell of the trees, etc... its v nice, tired of this hustle bustle city world :( hope ur doing good Leia and had a good start to this rainy week in SG :)
I worked in Singapore before. I don't like Singapore working culture and environment
Sometime we must to accept and put behind all of our uncomfortable feeling about our work environment, of course it's very hard but it's a reality..
felt the 'intensity' of your experiences ... sigh... not easy right... can eat us up and we lose our humanity and childlikeness and can easily turn into a person we never were... :( :( :(
Did not manage to hear well the noodles name u mentioned that u were eating. It looked like some laksa kind of mee... nice book, I wish I had better reading habits... thanks again for sharing ur life here... guns n roses!! classic band :)
watched thru this video too... so kind. yup its a very driven and pushy world we live in, there's no space for slowing down or pausing unless we do it intentionally ourselves. appreciate the way you look at success and I do hope you will find purpose in life more and more and the cloud over can slowly be blown away... ur an immense joy to me a total stranger. I value the way you look at people and are so inclusive... thank you for coming down to the ground... hope these words will be reaching you with a smile :)
Thank you for ur video, very thoughtfully done and it is very authentically 'Singaporean'. Bringing the pasar malam food in, the street view and all, but mainly you take the time to honestly share life from your heart, that for me is the best part and can resonate so much with it. Thank you for being you and being here (from ur words at the end). Keep smiling keep going, somehow you are touching lives you never thought you would have.
Thank you Leia, taking the time to be you and being vulnerable to share your journey. I took time to hear intently your story... at times I didn't know how to cry or react... cus the pain is real, at least for me... but thank u for being so mindful of not just your situation but to those around you. You have a great heart... hope this msg inspires u forward as u did me! (I randomly saw ur video)
Thank you for these kind words, they mean a lot to me!🫶🏻 Sending you lots of love and blessings 💐
Leia, through your life's journey, you have encountered the good and bad, but through it all, it has prepared you for what you are today...but your future is yet to be told. Have faith in yourself for the path ahead is laden with untold treasures that you will unlock and free yourself from the chains that bind you. Even your problems at home will come to pass and make you the stronger for it. Seek passion in you and go for it. Do not pursue a career for money or position but seek one that you are passionate about. In this, you will unleash your full potential and achieve. You may have already discovered that your journey is not a 9 to 5 job. So be it, that perhaps you need to be a gig worker, a digital nomad so to speak. I know someone who would never have survived a 9 to 5 job and since he completed national service he worked as an independent contractor in jobs ranging from teaching creative writing to even content development on the Internet and today and until his early 30s he never held a permanent job although he was fully employed on contract. Most of the time, he would work from a laptop from home going to the office only to attend meetings and he was happy with this life style. He loved the freedom that his "job" afforded; not a 9 to 5 job...but one based on deadlines, creative content development, and with minimal superior by a manager. Today he has taken up a full time job but not as an employee but rather as a partner in a real estate business of which he is the content developer of their website. He maintains his independence of working irregular hours and mostly working from home. Find your own path, Leia. Your future is limited only by the boundaries you set. Chase your dreams. Imagine what you seek for yourself of a dream job and pursue that dream! You WILL succeed!
You are the kind of employee that HR or bosses should avoid . It’s no surprise you were laid off. Simply put, you come across as very insecure and might benefit from consulting a psychologist. The truth may sting, but it’s worth reflecting on.
6 jobs at 29 is definitely a red flag for any future employer. 6 jobs at 7 years, girl has no idea what to do. Want to love job? wait till you get life responsibilities. Girl still need more adulting
You are still young can find 2 jobs .Why picky ? No need to feel sad.
where is this?
Meditation helps to build resilience clarity mind. God bless!
WOW YOU LUCKY YOU HAD STRESS AND ABLE TO WALK OUT OF IT UNFORTUNATELY SINGAPORE STILL HAD MORE THE 2 MILLION STRESSFUL AND LIVING WITH DEPRESSION SINGAPOREAN YOU CALL THEM “THE WALKING ZOMBIES”.🙈🙈🙈
All the best to you and hope get a new job soon
Thank you for bringing us through
Leia, there are a lot of toxic workplace culture in Singapore. High Turnover rate is a HUGH RED FLAG. Try to avoid such companies if you can as it’s not good for your emotional & mental health working in those places. You should also go to Glass Doors reviews to find out if there are any negative reviews about the company that you are thinking of being employed at. Remember though, negative reviews should carry MORE weight as these days, many people are simply paid to write “good reviews” to paint a good image for the company.
Very good one. Hope you find your direction in career.
Hugs to u, Leia!❤
Hi Leia, I feel you and coming from SG too. Just wanna send u hugs and comfort. ❤😊 I love you being you and to discover yourself too
You worked in the woods before? NParks? 😅
