Nice one looking good just built my engine only one problem was the gaskets the one for the two halfs of the engine wasn't the best and I was getting a big air leek right by the reed valve some instant did the trick lol RIP Jim you where a life saver with all your posts I really needed them let's hope they never get taken down

Where are getting parts from? Im looking to tidy up a 1999 txt270 and its hard to get parts for those old bikes

@fozinwozz9738 not sure yet, until I strip it more but I'll be needing a piston and top end bearing, linkage bearings, fork seals, etc to start with possibly bottom end damage too 🙈

I like the "Rust-easy" sticker on the back, most appropriate. Get yourself a Vivaro. Far better engines, cheaper spares, more reliable, cheaper to buy and NO RUST. If you go post 07, no cambelt. A much much better van. Hand painting and a black roof...you should stick to bikes mate.
a vivaro seriously ? You Couldn't of picked a worse van they were horrific for faults belt failures fuel injectors going faulty and seizing in the engine due to water ingress from the scuttle panel not to mention the cheese gearboxes that go on them no chance I'll stick with what I know VW
@@fozinwozz9738 ..and that is why they are the most popular van in the UK and the Trafic the most popular van in Europe for the past 20 years. You have to remember the commercial market is not interested in image, they buy purely on running costs. The most important part of that is reliability, since breakdowns and downtime are by far the biggest losses. Before I bought mine I spoke to my friend who runs a fleet of vans, mainly Vivaros and he said he changed from VWs and Fords 15 years ago and had no reason to go back. Another guy I met ran a taxi company in Hamburg who had changed from Merc 200s to Renault Lagunas for the same reason. I have had my Vivaro 8 years with none of the faults you describe. So stick with your overpriced rustbuckets..that you know.
Had a mk 3 transit hand painted by a mate who used Johnson's paint he used a very good quality and very old brush brush older the better he said , and he also used a 1 in 4 thinner he also warmed the paint up in a pan of hot water he kept the paint warm and his technique was to randomly brush the first and in places the second coat on very thinly making sure to not go in same direction then on final coat he layed it on in one direction and believe me you couldn't see the brush strokes it was amazing it took 2 days to paint but totally worth it ,you can't beet Johnson's paint for a DIY car paint
So I picked up a 1990 aprilla looks just like that and I can't figure out how to start. Cleaned the carb, fresh oil. And new spark plug. What's going on can u help
Have you checked it's got a spark ? That's first job
I had one the bloke had kept it immaculate got him down from £1000 to £900 left a happy man had two years of fun on it sold it for £1100!

I know I kick myself at every sale mate sold my fully restored ‘03 CR 250 for £1600 a few years ago it was on eBay the next day for 2k now they fetch over 3 😢 I wish I’d kept all my bikes but I’m impatient and swap and change to often. All good fun tho love tinkering with them as well as riding them
Hiya been watching your channel for some and have 4 gas gas and a beta I have one that I was thinking of breaking as its a bitser wrong forks leavers and so on don't know if you would be interested in the engine as it runs then you could sell on the engine parts which are not needed .if so what would you offer cheers cary could send video and pictures of it running

Hi Fozz, First thanks for sharing your great work.. Do I have to unscrew the fat ring with one of them tools you modified in order to replace the seals ?, or does the golden tube come off with the old seal if I just pull strong? Thanking you in advance…

I used to rebuild Aprilia engines for a lad that raced RS 125s they were very trick bikes for their era and bloody quick tuned right! Only saw one of these in the flesh at the bike shop I worked at I wanted it but it sold. Subbed 👍🏻

I've had the pleasure of being loaned a tyz from a mate back in 2003 for a few months just a nice easy going bike to ride
