That is not a Bobcat. Thar is a Narwhal/Hyrax hybrid.
That looks more like a lynx. It was bigger than a bobcat - bigger than the bobcats around here anyway.
I’ve never known deer to be aggressive to an animal that could kill it.
As a kid I was friends with this old Maine guide that lived at a lake where our family had a camp. He had a deer as a pet. He claimed they were the best pets in the world. It lived right in the house with him. It would come when he called, let you pet her etc. It was crazy.
Oh deer….that is a new one to me.
They both look a bit thin.
The internet says this about thin black bears in the summer: "During the summer months, bears eat about 5,000 calories a day or the equivalent of two large cheese pizzas. But as fall begins bears start preparing for winter by going through a process of increased feeding called hyperphagia. Both sexes will forage up to 18 hours a day and gain up to 1½ times their summer weight." Hope this helps to calm your concerns about their current weight

Every day I have a parade of deer in my property, some females are roaming with their offspring but I never saw a bob cat here. I posted some videos of them already

They were both curious. Simple as that. Careful curiosity. Meet & greet. Hello, how are you? Nice meeting you, but for the time being, we can't be friends unless we both get to know each other much better & establish trust. That takes time. Even fish spend lots of time getting to know each other.
So basically just like housecats. Well, a bobcat would probs go for a weaker member if it was truly hungry, but that deer was peak. No shot.

Bobcats can easily take down a deer.
