Antrim Castle
On the 28th of October 1922, Lord and Lady Massereene were hosting guests at the castle when a catastrophic fire broke out during the night. Confused occupants were suddenly awoken from their slumber and forced to escape by any means possible. While they scrambled together ropes made of bed sheets to climb out of the windows, others made it to the chapel roof and awaited rescue there. Tragically, one young servant was trapped in the ensuing inferno and succumbed to the smoke and flames.
Visitors have reported hearing the sound of heavy breathing emanating from the remains of the castle, while the ghost of a young woman has been spotted in the grounds on several occasions.

Templemichael Church

The nineteenth century church and sixteenth century castle (both in ruin), along with the surrounding graveyard and their riverside location, certainly make Templemichael the perfect setting for a good ghost story. Many people have reported seeing ghostly monks in the vicinity of the church, and this may relate to the Knights Templar who were granted land here in the twelfth century.

Unless you’re a local, the chances of you even noticing this particular building on the main street in Ballyshannon would be very slim. Mullingar Arts Centre

Mullingar Arts Centre opened in 1998 on a site with a long and sometimes bloody history. In the 12th-century, a castle was constructed on the site and this remained until its replacement by the county jail in 1789. A tunnel used to link the building with the courthouse across the road and this was used to transfer prisoners, sometimes on a one-way route to their place of execution at the jail g...

    6:19 Derek Accorah was a known *fraud* and his accounts of any hauntings should be dismissed as *bullshit.*

    • @irishghosts
      @irishghosts 4 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      I'm always wary when mentioning supposed "psychics" by name in posts or videos, but I always felt conflicted over Derek Accorah. Even as a kid, his “possessions” looked theatrical and suspicious to me, but I always thought there *might* be a grain of ability behind all his bluster. I saw an item that recounted the whole Kreed Kafer / Derek Faker affair, but it also mentioned work he did on a few other, lower key projects where he seemed to call on knowledge that wasn’t in the public domain and that could not have easily been fed to him. Definitely a showman first and foremost and he WAS following the money for sure, but “the show” itself wasn’t exactly above question - even after he left. I am sure there was pressure from execs to “make things happen” to keep it going. Can’t have a “psychic” going into a haunted building and saying that they felt nothing on such a big show. Perhaps he did what they needed him to do at the time and maybe he sacrificed whatever integrity he had in pursuit of the big bucks - Dr Ciaran O'Keeffe certainly exposed that element of his personality for sure. Yvette’s new book is also damming to say the least. Conflicted and disappointed.

      @@irishghosts As I remember, Chris Halton("Haunted Earth" Video Channel) was one of, if not THE first to catch out, and call out *Most Haunted* for faking ghosts. Accorah may have gone from the show by then, but his reputation was already in tatters.

    I had the great good fortune to stay in one of the cottages on the Renvyle estate nearly a decade ago, so never encountered any spirits. But I will say that the energy of the House (my friends and I did go into the main building a few times throughout our stay) has a heaviness to it. Not angry, nor sad; not even aggressive or abrasive - just...a heaviness as though the air stays still. Like the air is waiting for you to do something. It's a beautiful house and property, anyway. The people of the property and surrounding villages and towns are also just the best kinds of people. We met not one bad egg; everyone was so friendly and kind. I hope to go back with my husband someday.
