We had this issue on our side roll system. We enlarged the settling pond and incorporated cattails to slow the water and seperate the silt. And we had better water distribution on wheat using sininger sprinklers.

So tell us more about the products you use and why maybe based on soil, tissue or sap analysis, cost etc. I’ve got a big pond that I could pump 20 million gallons of water from. Been thinking about a traveling gun to irrigate and fertilize alfalfa after each cutting if we are short on rain .
@@mbailey12341 mined minerals, special chicken manure, processed calcium, etc. custom based off soil test and farmer expectations and budget. Contact on our website for more information.
@@mbailey12341 and hay can benefit from really inexpensive foliar applications
@@americanbeefranch the problem I see with a lot of commodity markets is they don’t compensate for good quality. But if you are feeding it to your own livestock why wouldn’t you do everything in your power to produce the best quality possible? These guys hauling grain to the elevator are hauling off their fertilizer too so they have to haul fertilizer back. Problem is most commercial fertilizer isn’t taking care of our soil very well. You’re on the right track with your concepts. Just find me a program I can compete with the neighbors on this overpriced land right now. Lots of things are “neat” out there but you still need to be profitable at the end of the day. I’ve been researching the horse hay market and there seems to be a good opportunity there. 60# small squares are bringing $12-$14 per bale if everything is perfect with them. It doesn’t always work out though so better have some cows to feed the other stuff too.
@@americanbeefranch who do you use for your soil sample analysis?
@@mbailey12341 there is no reason with the “right” fertility program your hay can’t be above premium quality.
They shouldn’t be coming loose like that. Check your bearings and lock tire them thangs
Unfortunately it happens more than you would think. Do you have pivots?
Can you please tell me why venter pivot irrigation systems only have the water outlets on top of the pipe? There's gooseneck like you have and sprayers directly on top. But why is there never a system with the water outlets on the bottom of the pipe. I've called manufacturers about this with no resolve. Thank you for any insight
@@jbdfd8779 no exactly sure but I would assume with the inherent nature of irrigation water having particulate in it that it helps keep the sprinkers cleaner. They use to be on the side and bottom but they quit doing that a long time ago. It also helps fill the system with water
God Bless you Sir!❤ I thank you for all that food. I praise God for giving all to you to raise the food and for cleaning out the sprinklers!😊
Thank you for growing food for the rest of us. 🙏❤️
why not rotate out your sprinkler heads...in other words put in new ones or already cleaned ones (that are quick tested for flow/a rig you build just for testing them)then take the ones back and throw them in some type of cleaning solution slash parts washer so they become the newly cleaned set to replace the next set of sprinkler heads...just a thought...that way you already have a set ready to go
How do you expect him to carry 128 sprinklers through the field... I sure ant carrying a duffle bag through the field or walking back to the truck that many times 😂
@@user-ot1hn1yb6y we are working on setting up a filter system. That would be a lot of birds to carry plus the extra expense for birds is also alot
You mean you pay millions of dollars for a pivot and there’s not a pre-filter where the influent line is then you could just change one single filter. Hell my toe behind sprayers have pre-filters.
When you get a new one most irrigation shops will suggest adding one at the same time. However this pivot is 50 years old and was used when it was put up here 50 years ago. Let's just say the guy before me thought as long as it was spraying some water it was good enough. We are planing one adding a filter system when we upgrade.
He seems a little pedo.

DUDE, there is a new invention available. Might help you out a little bit, it's called a filter.
@@rich1879 our water has a lot of particulate. Plugs up filters like crazy. We are working on catching more of it before the pumps
@@americanbeefranch oh my. That has got to suck. I just thought of something, look into a sand trap filter. They are used on swimming pools. Commercially, the initial purchase Will be expensive but it will be worth it in the long run cuz you never have to replace anything, and you can install it yourself I'm sure, see if you can find a used one somewhere.
@@rich1879 I’ll look into it. Thanks!

Raised 112 bushel / 63# test weight wheat this year. I did put 30# actual N on in early May right before a rain using calcium nitrate. Don’t think I would have needed it though. No 2-4D, no fungicide. No issues.

This is why we have local production taxes on things like this; so these projects can benefit the whole nation. Also, why are you complaining? Cash out. If your property is right in the middle of such a huge development, you can rent out your land to a battery farm, or to a data center. Renewable is here to stay and is paying big $$$ for locations like yours. Make it work for you. Look at your peers in Iowa and Texas.
@@BikiniDuckCreations with tax credits from the feds it practically has no benefit. Especially in a state who has a record of budget surplus. On top of that if they picked a project that Idaho could use the power from I would be more inclined to not oppose it. Wind energy isn’t the best option for Idaho
Cash out? What do you mean? I don't think you listened to him saying he does not want wind turbines and other things blocking his view of the country. Your comment shows you're ignorant of the area because nobody is going to build a battery farm or data center in that area. Click your heals and wish it to happen?
@@Hogslice Very first link that comes up when I google it: th-cam.com/video/BAfKgf2tXkg/w-d-xo.html There are lots of companies that would love to be nextdoor to a wind farm and take advantage of the cheap electricity. Look at Texas and Iowa. That market is booming. This is what Making America Great looks like. Places in the middle of nowhere that could not provide anything to the nation in the past, are now able to generate electricity.
@@BikiniDuckCreations You are forgetting that the energy for these wind turbines is being sold out of state. Nothing will be provided for in-state use. And just because you googled something doesn't mean companies will do it.
A state should have to produce its power. Not build it in another state.
@@tunkelp trust me we all agree. We understand trading in times of need but shipping 95% somewhere else is ridiculous.
What are you talking about? This is how we make America Great.
@@BikiniDuckCreations I think you have the wrong administration there…
@@americanbeefranch When it comes to making America great, who cares about what administration is in power? This is about America as a country and for long term growth. A windmill is good for 30+ years, we still have units from the 1970's running today. That is a whole lot of almost free electricity that can be used to power the nation. If your ranch really is in the middle of a wind power site, you are going to be able to make bank from renting out space to data centers and battery storage providers. You live in the middle of nowhere, up until today all you could supply the nation is grass, and beef. Well now you can also supply electricity. So welcome to the future.
@@BikiniDuckCreations that’s great. Food is important and more so than power. Besides like I stated a solar project would make much more sense over wind in my area.

That's where all the clean water went :)
It’s river water so it’s not the cleanest but definitely good water. We work to use it as efficiently as possible.
@@americanbeefranch I'm sure you do. It's certainly a huge step up from the aqueducts farmers used for thousands of years. This likely has much less waste.
@@K162KingPin typically 95% efficient
@@americanbeefranch You sure about that? Seems like a lot more than 5% would be lost to evaporation. Some would soak into that loose dirt and sink deeper than the roots could reach. Some would fall between these widely spaced plants and be between the roots. I only ask because hydroponic systems are not even 95% efficient and that is literally plants sitting in a bath of water, inside a building.
America feeds a large part of the World, and glad of it.
Yes we do
@@americanbeefranch USA exports 20% of its food. While importing 15%. Net export then is only 5%. The vast majority of the exported food is thinks like corn which is heavily subsidized by the government with the intention of using it locally. So tax payers get to prop up the profit margin of corn so that farmers can sell it outside the country. In the end we are subsidizing food for other countries. It should be illegal to export any subsidized product. Either way, a 5% net export hardly qualifies as "feeds a large part of the World".
@@K162KingPin I agree more than you know. I don’t really even consider corn food. Currently I have a silage contract with an organic dairy. Only reason I’m growing corn is to pay the bills for now
@@americanbeefranch I love corn. Sweet corn. Corn on the cob, etc. I won't claim to be an expert on the subject but from what I've seen in some articles the vast majority of corn is GMO and not even intended for human consumption. A lot is dried, ground up, smashed into pellets, and feed to animals which we raise and harvest of meat. The rest is mostly turn into ethanol, which if you don't know is a supplement put into gasoline. Ethanol is possibly one of the biggest ecological failure in the modern world. Multiple governments including our own implemented programs designed to supplement gasoline with ethanol in order to reduce carbon emissions by reducing the amount of gasoline burned. So most of our gasoline has 10% ethanol. This sounds great right. That way 10% of the fossil fuel that would have been burned in a car isn't. Instead we burn ethanol. The problem is they didn't consider how much fossil fuel would be burned planting, farming, harvesting, shipping, processing all that corn into ethanol in the first place. Since this disastrous shortsighted policy became a series of misguided laws, countless studies have clearly shown that far more CO2 is produced in the production of this ethanol than is prevented by its use. Not to mention turning millions of acres of farmland that could be used to grow food for humans or at least animals into a pointless and even destructive example of governmental ignorance. Despite this overwhelming evidence being presented to congress multiple times, they still refuse to reverse any of these policies supposedly because they are afraid of causing such a dramatic upset in the economy. So here we are growing millions of acres of corn that people and animals cant eat, to turn into ethanol to save on CO2 emissions, but in the process producing even more CO2, all so we can keep farmers from having to switch to other crops that could at least actually be use productively and consumed by living things instead of vehicles. Its all so idiotic.
@@K162KingPin I completely agree. The government has medaled in something for far too long. Now we have farms that completely survive due to subsidies. Millions of acres of corn and soybeans turned into highly processed cheap junk all so the government can keep the control. It’s really aside and also really bad for the planet.
They should be giving grants for water harvesting earthworks, organic no plow. electric fencing for rotational grazing and efficient irrigation systems.
Total bull shit
Mining industry bought the water. Its not saving water they have it going elsewhere.
....it seems the globalists and our Congress orchestrated this to steal the farmer's water and use it for the Cobalt mine in Idaho........in which they have controlling interest......this is how corrupt US government is!!!!!!!!gh
Oh and there is another energy project in Idaho to the is bs… more on that soon
It’s all about the cobalt mines need for water. Government corruption to restart closed cobalt mine for “renewable”? energy - lithium batteries. Ukrainian support funds have been diverted to fund…..
Ridiculous isn’t it
But, but,, if it makes even 1 Leftwing bureaucrat feel superior, we all should be willing to suffer. 2+2 = 5 right?
I stopped eating potatoes and reduced beer for health reasons. I buy local grassfed beef. More regenerative agriculture with beef would help with soil carbon, water retention. And I could keep my bees there. I avoid monocrop agriculture. We need to promote the health benefits of beef.
