Very cool. I've normally hiked to McLeod Lake then take the spur to Mammoth Pass to continue my hike. I've been wanting to hike all the way around McLeod the next time I go there but was wondering how passable it is. Your video shows that it's definitely walkable the whole way. Thanks.

Thanks! This was useful! How is the woodblock connected to the door? You didn't drill through the entire door I see , so I assume you drilled a hole through the first layer of metal in the door and used heavy rivets to connect, but perhaps it was just sheet metal screws. I have not tried this yet, but it would seem like putting the flat strike (the piece on the handle the deadbolt connects to) on the backside of the handle rather than the front, would eliminate the need for the the wood block, unless the deadbolt is designed so that it cannot receive the flat strike loops on either side. I guess I will find out when I try that. :) Again, thanks for sharing the idea!
