TMLR Talks to Detroit Tigers RHP Michael Massey
I was at that Tigers Cubs game too! I think Damian Easley and Tony Clark also homered and I want to say Clark’s went to dead center.
Harris gets on my dang nerves but good interview
I liked Scott's comment about watching minor league ball every night. His focus is development not handing out big free agent contracts
I think it says something when the President of Baseball Ops is more than happy to do an interview with a fan led account. Especially with an account focusing on minor league prospects. Awesome interview and you guys are God sent. Thankful for the work you guys put in.
Carpenter came back from the IL looking huge. He did the work in the weight room.
Scott is so open to data and analytics.
Terrific interview , so in-depth and informative, learned so much and Mr. Harris came off looking so good and so honest , thank you for bringing this to us !
Two years ago...Miggy..i feel was tutoring Tork...Tork hit 30 home runs..Last year..miggy wasnt there..tork struggled..get miggy back..to follow Tork.?..its a win..win.situation.?..just thinking out of the box..i know Tork..wants to be a Tiger..
Awesome interview! Probably don’t need the mandatory CC as TH-cam has one integrated.
You guys are big time now!
A2pet! Trying to be the smartest guy in the room. Jeesh Dude!
Cool interview. As fans it's normal to just concentrate on what moves are being made at the major league level and maybe following one or two of the top prospects in the minors. It's interesting to hear more about what goes on down at the minor league level and how they develop players before they even get to the higher levels.
I didn't create the WonderBoy and Bumaez thing. I can't take those credits... but I will repeat them. I will say everything and anything in a loss... or win... against an Ump(Yooper has a tendency of sticking up) who deserves it rather than take it out on a Tiger, Coach or Manager. Ownership and GMs are fifty-fifty... well maybe 60-40. I have a little more respect for Harris in dealing the cards well in molding the playoff run last year. It's allllll about the DETROIT TIGERS... and maintaining. Benetti and Gibson spoke it well, when they said how fans can see if the players are not playing at high peak full potential. Now that SportsBetting has been in... I'll be blaming that too... and I'm not the only one. We can see that a player is being held back... who do we blame? A Topps Card favorite? Ahhhh ya know we gonna stick it to the highest paid player... we always do. Anyway... I'm just gonna enjoy looking forward to another hopefully, exciting season and you guys shows. Thanks to Harris, AJ and staff for building the Detroit Tigers better and making last years playoff run. Hopefully more to come. Thanks Rog and Chris for this show and many, many more. Stay true with Detroit!!! Oh... and Rumor out there say we got Bregman on a 3yr deal. Prolly some MsM(MsN) Mickey Mouse Bulllllsh!t AI writes/story ;)
Wow! Love that he made himself available for you guys. I wonder if this would help give you access to farm system coaches and scouts. Interviewing a scout before the draft or whoever is responsible for promoting players and figuring out the opening day rosters of Toledo/Erie/WM/Lak and learning that process would be very cool.
Development is key. Informative.
Great interview! I’ve said it before on different mediums, but I’ll say it again. Scott Harris is legitimately brilliant in how he views and is able to articulate all aspects of organizational development. Initially, I used to think he had the “smartest guy in the room” mentality, which can plague some people in overlooking common sense solutions. But I was SO wrong. He is so genuine, honest, and transparent in his communication, and I think that resonates with players and staff in the organization.
I love Scott Harris. Great work guys! Awesome interview
Great interview! It was pretty awesome to hear that Harris follows on the conversations and content you guys bring to the table. And I'm glad there was a mention about third base lmao
Great job guys!!!! Keep up the great work.
That means a lot to us, thanks!
Wayyy too much self congratulation here. Most of the success last year was due to Avila’s picks. You can’t call yourself a place to get better when you still have a lot of holes. Scott makes baseball too intellectual when it’s not. He likes to take credit for things he has nothing to do with. Several of his acquisitions have been underwhelming if not awful. He’s more of a politician than a true baseball guy. If the organization is doing well in 3 years, I’ll eat my words, but I think he’s a fraud.
The prospects started to get better when Garko arrived and he mentioned his impact and his staff on the roster. He gave credit where it was due. Hurter and Madden both got better under player development on his watch.
@ both of those players were drafted by Avila and got better under Fetter who was also hired by Avila. And if they were so good why did he sign Cobb? Which was a very dumb signing when you consider Lorenzon just signed for 7m. You should have a highly ranked system when you’ve been bad for 10 yrs. It also means nothing unless those prospects produce. Prospects should get better and to name 2 who probably won’t make the rotation proves my point. Keep drinking the kool aid.
@@a2pet Lund wasn’t a Avila hire and what kool aid is there to drink? He literally said he was going to sign more pitchers and gave credit to the entire staff. He was familiar with Cobb. Did the money make sense? No cant argue that. He used the word “we” a lot. Not I. Hurter wasn’t a high draft pick and Gipson-Long, an Avila trade, got better because of the development staff and their ability to make him better, which is the only thing that matters. He’s been here two years and for how bad the farm system has been; Clark and McGonigle were under his watch. They made the postseason. Avila got the people in place but isn’t here anymore. That’s been said numerous times on this channel.
A lot of potential for Cobb to have a bounce back year as it was not an arm injury and thus his arm got a rest last year.
@@a2petif it’s a one year deal, the money doesn’t matter to anyone but the owner. Maybe Lorenzen signed for cheaper elsewhere bc he wanted to hit as well. There are way too many variables for someone to say “you signed X pitcher for X money, but Y pitcher signed for Y money, why didn’t you just get Y”?
This is the best interview of Scott Harris that I’ve seen. He was comfortable and shared a lot of information.
I wholeheartedly concur. This conversation is exactly the one I would want to have with Scott Harris if I ever found myself with him for an hour. You were able to get him to share some in-depth insights about Tigers player development.
to this day, I remain surprised when the 4-1-1-1 line for someone ISN'T a homer!
🤩 Wow, Harris! This will be interesting!!
Great job, gentlemen.
Great interview
So happy for you guys to land such a big interview you guys out work everyone and have the best baseball content
I'm only 12 minutes in but I'm wondering if you asked him about how much he would prefer AI Homeplate Umpiring...If the games aren't rigged for the gambling dollars? Why wouldn't anyone want to get the calls right. Screw the "human element" the one job that needed to be replaced by AI years ago is HP Umpire.
What a coup, fellas! Great interview and awesome questions! I think we were all impressed, including Scott Harris! Bravo!
Awesome job fellas! What international guys are we rumored to be signing/interested in?
We have an article dropping soon about it.
You mean besides Cris & Roki?
Just wanted to say i really appreciate the subtitles that are not TH-cam autogenerated. Really helps me out and I'm sure others.
Our goal is to have those for all of our interviews this year. Adobe has a great tool for it and it allows to make easier to do it
Great work boy!!
Very nice of Tiger mgmt to acknowledge your work. Thanks Scott! These guys do a great job.
Congratulations on the interview, gentlemen! It is wonderful to see your hard work, great content, and insightful analysis recognized.
We appreciate you watching and the support.
Great pull guys.
I know it's not minor league stuff, and you probably won't see this, but the young guy I've seen with the most desirable stuff? Mike King!!!!! 🧐😯😯
Love what you guys do! I’d be more than happy to subscribe & support
I like your vision guys. I really enjoyed watching games live together last season. I’m definitely in for a monthly subscription fee, you’re worth it. 😂
But yeah. 😂 I kid I kid I could share criticisms but I choose not to, The reason is because I am grateful for everything you guys do for the love of the game For the fans Life is a joke But guys like you help us get the dark times So much more than you realise You guys have a great thing going Likewise with Mark and Evan Cody and Kieran, Scotty All of these contributions are gold in bonus material for die hard Tigers fans Thank you and happy new year fellas
You all provide a product that is WORTH paying for. Can’t say that for a lot of content. I think people will happily subscribe to your content. I’ll be first in line
It was a Detroit baseball writer who held BBWA Card #1. Like idea of watching MiLB game--will do.
Note: You said the Sugar Bowl was cancelled. It was not. It was postponed. Big difference.
Meant for this evening, our apologies
@@TigersMinorLeagueReport Understood. Thanks for clarifying. Just be careful. Words matter.
Come on Hornet, we know what they meant.
@alwaysatiger Cancelled means the event will not happen. Postponed means an event is rescheduled. I had to look up the Sugar Bowl to see what was going on.
I appreciate hearing about what is coming up. Nice to know you are looking at ways to improve.
Gleyber Torrez is a decent pick-up. I believe he will shine for us in 2025.
Appreciate that you guys are some of the most imformed guys around. RIP Old Paw Paw! Hope we see Gibson-Long sometime in '25. Manning, also, is under rated. I think Detroit would have sent Tork to Pittsburg, but, as i watched Locked On Pirates, i see they prematurely picked up a 1st baseman. What is your thoughts? We have such a glut of potentially outstanding minor leaguers that will be up by '26, maybe sooner. Let's hope we can do better on arm strength and defense, while being decent rbi guys. Allan Trammell like... Two 3rd baseman ive always liked are MIKE LOWELL & Kevin Youkilis, both from the Red Sox, when i lived there. I especially liked Lowell. All Sox fans did. We NEED BREGMAN! He fits that mold. (I grew up in Michigan, but had a long stint in Metro Boston, before moving back. Orig. in Barry County, now near Battle Creek) Ahh, Nate Colbert. Unfortunately the Tiger's biggest bust, in my lifetime.
Hopefully Gleyber isn't another Gio part time player. I'd trade off Tork, he had his time here and with those high swings... heh... I wouldn't miss him. Always thought Kreidler would've been that guy at 3rd... or SS... all depends on how much this Org pushes rather than hold players back.
Another trash heap pickup. This guy's stats have decreased pretty much every year since his rookie season. Plus, his I.Q. is somewhere south of Bidens.
A polite golf clap for the Tigers getting into the mix to improve the ballclub. Need more starting pitching depth and there is that great need at third base.
Thanks guys for coming on to discuss this.
I’m not agreeable to the tigers being the A’s or TB. No excuse. You guys are too easy on them
