Can't collect modern Yugioh anymore. When konami sees something worth money, they'll try to reprint it in higher rarity or a similar rarity. Look at starlights and CRs. QCRs are next on the chopping block.

Personally between Exodia's legs I like to put a printing of the Spellbinding Circle. It's one of the few cards that make sense imo xv

I like the way spells abs traps look in PUR and PCR from rarity collection. It’s great because I can get those copies for relatively cheap because people are focused on qcr and platinum.

Have yal noticed some of the 25th quarter century logos appearing to be defective? Almost like it was exposed to excessive heat or the stamp was low on glue (or whatever material they use)

The best way is to buy whoever has s a lot of stock and the cheapest price (especially if it’s just falling off or gonna rise) And yeah I think the collector rare r the lamest rarity and worst to “collect” I thought they would be the coolest and collector ones but …no The QCRs r definitely more collector feeling and cooler (especially since there are more in anime arts/English art)

Ultimaya Tzolkin is supposed to be level 0, but its effect always treat it as a level 12. Mostly there for flavor since that how it was in the manga. Also thanks to you I have a need to buy more shiny card board :P

I agree with the age thing. Young people are not getting into it, and based on my locals/regionals experience, the people who still play are getting old, starting or already started families etc. They are engaging with the game less and less already, especially with how things are as of late. New blood is simply not entering the game at all. The people who still play Yugioh because of nostalgia are actually playing pokemon with their kids because it's easier to get children into, cheaper too and the game itself is less toxic. People gotta remember, at least for me, Yugioh ran on television right after or before pokemon during my childhood (2001-2002 onwards I think?). So this isn't unheard of. As for the modern card prices, I'm kinda sick of it. I'm avoiding the special rarities for the most part and save my money for nostalgic old cards. Started getting OCG versions of stuff that was super expensive in the TCG. Rarity collection ruined collectors for me, but I'm overall glad we got secrets for most cards. QCRs ruined starlights so nothing is sacred with new stuff. Old stuff even if it goes to zero I can still appreciate for what they are. I'm also avoiding meta stuff that is overly expensive unless I can justify it for a deck I really REALLY like. The money I save on modern goes into saving for the old stuff. Really had to check myself of what I truly want instead of just starting collections left and right. Getting old is a good reality check. Can't "invest" into something that the company can and will print into dirt if the game goes on a death spiral.

I like the card art of the prismatic ultimates, but decided to sell them all because the rest of the cards has this ugly grease foil all over it.

Definitely agree with the Prismatic Ultimate Rare’s. They are my favorite out of new rarities, I collect them in Japanese and now the TCG ones in the Rarity Collections. Also think the Prismatic Collectors would look better without those duel terminal dots. I agree with you about QCR Bonanza too they are coming out with these sets too fast, but looking forward to getting new Prismatic Ultimate’s and the Edison reprints

Your original channel is what got me into collecting OCG cards. Always enjoy your pickup and collection videos. I think I even bought a Japanese Power Tool off your eBay. I mostly stick to collecting 5D’s era cards, especially the Signer Dragon’s in Japanese and Korean Ultimate. The foiling on them is amazing compared to the TCG although I still collect them as well tho.

Magia isn't exactly comparable to the modern cards like Moonbreon and LatiLati that all the vintage maximalists clown on. Terminal Revenge boxes don't cost a fortune, unlike Team Up and Evolving Skies.

OCG Ultimates have no competitor in any card game. A lot of them are also surprisingly cheap for the quality

Wow,, just 1 double page must be 100s of dollars. I shop about for bargain Holos , and I mean even the Super Rares can look great. I think I have have 3 decks worth of cards that total about $200 so pretty happy with the bargain but don't think I'll have a Parallel filled collection like this! ^ ^

I don't know if you play Duel Links but the Rush Duel Cyber End made me comment. Currently Cyber Dragons are really really good in the Rush Duels of the game and are really cheap to build. You may have to still spend $4 for a third copy of the Cyber Dragon starter deck, but the rest of the deck could be earned in a very minimal amount of time. Maybe like 2 hours, hard to say exactly since I don't have much of an idea of the new player experience. It's something you might want to look into if you want to actually play Rush Duels in English and with a large player base. The deck interests me right now with it's Skill that allows easy fusions of Cyber Twin and End. Most Duels feel like a puzzle to me to see if I can OTK the first turn I can attack. I know you started collecting OCG and Rush because of that Cyber End you showed, so I just thought you might like to play with some version of em even though it isn't the physical cards themselves. And Hell, even the main Speed format of the game just got a good wave of support for Cyber Dragons, including one copy of Infinity if that gives you an idea of the current power level of the main Speed format. It's also got a brand new rarity system that allows you to make your own custom rarity on a lot of cards(including Cybers) so you have bit of a chase if you want to make your Dragons like even prettier. I really am enjoying the content you're making man. It's a nice change of pace to see a calm cool discussion about collecting without all the over the top reactions and click bait we can see in the community. 8:09 Can agree with this, for example the QCR Blue Eyes White Dragon from this years megatins is significantly cheaper on the TCG than the OCG's QCR of that Blue Eyes art, which really surprised me. Gotten into OCG cards over the last year or so, recently gotten my first couple 20th anniversary secret rares of dark magician and stardust dragon, and QCR's of an Obelisk and Slifer alternate arts, still waiting for Ra's to release though. They're so cool, and if they ever were released in the TCG I couldn't ever expect them to be as good of a price as they are for the OCG. Those new holographic rares are pretty cool too, I only have that Yubel but I might consider getting that exodia incarnate at some point, and see what other cards have that rarity.
