UNFORGIVING! Extreme heat + endless climbs 🥵
Memory bike adventure is a 750km off road ultra cycling race, taking place in Northern Italy along the old WW1 Frontline where Italians and Austrians battled for 4 years!
I took part in the second edition last July and it turned out to be a hell of a ride!

The most brutal MTB race in Europe
มุมมอง 32K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Highland Trail 550 is the oldest bikepacking race in Europe and arguably the hardest. With harsh weather, unforgiving terrain, numerous technical downhill, countless long hike-a-bikes, it is a test of character for anyone who is bold enough to sign up. The reward is gorgeous landscapes in a remote and wild part of that populous continent that is Europe. The course and conditions make it sup...

After a successful 2023 season, I decided to take part in one last race for the fun of it. I was to mentally and physically tired to give it a proper go, but I was determined to have some fun. I discovered Portugal and its limitless gravel possibilities and I was ...

Sofiane, we’re happy just to ride along with you. Whatever you end up doing, keep sharing with the world. For me, I had to learn to live in the current moment and learn that things aren’t always good or bad, they just are. Dissatisfaction can be hard to sort out, especially when everything you are doing is going well.

Love the content you make, you have very engaging & relaxed style. As with all athletes "you spend a long time retired" don't be to quick to call it a day maybe cut down the number of events, really narrow it down to the events you'd LIKE to participate in with plenty of down time between. Make content while you're out maintaining/training. But most of all take care of yourself & your wellbeing is most important. All the very best wishes.

Sofiane, I'm so bummed. You have inspired me since the Divide. I'm the guy from Idaho with the brain issue, that chatted with you after your ride. Since then, I ride nearly every day (when possible) and you made a great impact on my life and from all of that my families as well. Just throwin it out there, but maybe enter a couple of events without trying to win. We all know your 'mental' when riding in these events, maybe a year of 'chill' riding, just to enjoy for awhile, and then pick your events that you will go mental on later on. That way you keep your sponsors, keep your physical prowess, and relish in your accomplishments for awhile. Your trophy case is nothing less than incredible, so don't be down - be proud! Life changes and sometimes we have to adjust. As always, thank you for your video and i do hope to meet you in person some day. james

In Japan many people carry their bikes on trains to get out to the countryside. Japanese use what is called a "Rinko" bag, which is designed to hold the wheels, frame, and such safety, yet the bag folds down the the size of a water bottle. Many Japanese touring bikes of the 70's and 80's had a quick-detachable drop bar, and a two-piece rear mudguard to make them fit more easily in a small bag.

Folks, going super light is super great until something goes wrong, mechanical/physical/meteorological /whatever. You should work your skill set and experience up a little at a time so you can truly accept the risk. Depending on someone else to save you with their gear is not accepting the risk. Light is right until it ain't. Don't ask me how I know.

When I was younger, I was a road racer, and competed in a number of stage races. Each day would vary from 100km to 300km, at as hard a pace as I could keep up. I would wake up each morning so sore that swinging my legs off the bed was painful, and I would have to hobble to my bike like an old man. Getting my leg over the bike was agony. But after half an hour in the saddle, the endorphins would kick in, my blood would rise, and I’d be having a blast. I loved riding, and no matter how miserable I might feel during a ride, I would go to sleep looking forward to the next day. My wife says I’m crazy.

Funny that in the original “Highlander” movie, a Frenchman played the Scottish main character, and the Scottish actor played a Spaniard. BTW, a good way to keep yourself awake on the smoother parts of the course is to eat something hard, like beef jerky, or, better yet, dog biscuits. Chewing and an occasional swallow increases the blood flow to your head, and keeps you more alert. This is an old trick soldiers on watch use to stay sharp.
