Good job! I'm from Asia, and I remember being shocked at how normalized drinking is in American colleges, and the social isolation a person can experience just from not drinking. I just want to say that a lot of the concepts/identities associated with drinking is heavily socialized. It's not coming from the self. I come from a culture where drinking is only somewhat normalized in middle-aged men's dinner tables and those are widely considered the most boring social occasions one will ever find themselves in. I know TONS of super interesting people who do not drink. I mean, if drinking is what makes people funny, relaxed, charming, etc., then there would be ZERO funny, relaxed, charming people in cultures where drinking is not a big part of normal people's life, and you know it's not true. Drinking is just one behavior that has been attached to particular meanings in one particular society at one particular period of history. It is not PART of anybody. You're Cely, and you are not what you drink.

This has happened to me more than once I live with my mom and my nana and they can hear me clear as day when I sing in my music room and many times I’ll stop in the middle of a song or try to hold back tears to get through the song so it doesn’t down like there’s something wrong going on when they hear it but it’s never anything going on just a powerful touch of the Lord and an overwhelm of love for Him
