I love your sweater design!
Thank you so much! I’m glad to see others enjoying it too 😊
Your colourwork advent raglan is turning out so gorgeous! My name suggestion is rather descriptive, but I think the Flower Tile Sweater would sound really cute 💕 sending you hugs and well wishes for your job situation!
Thank you so much! And I love a descriptive name- appreciate it!
Your colourwork raglan looks amazing!! I look forward to seeing the colour shifts in the advent you're using for it. Even in just two colours, it will be a stunning design.
Thank you!! I’m excited to see it in just two colors as well 😊
I love how the Nora Neck turned out! It still looks good enough to eat! 😊 I love the sweater you are designing and the pattern looks like tiles to me. It sort of reminds me of a board game with tiles called Azul. Speaking of games, we have the board game version of Stardew Valley-it’s one of the cozy games I have on the list to get played this year. Thinking of you! Hang in there!! ❤❤❤
Oh I was wondering if you had the stardew valley board game! We’ll have to play it next time I come out. Thank you 😊
I am also sorry that public health funding has been cut. You are wise to be circumspect on social media. Love the color work raglan you are designing. How about "Starflower" for a name. Wishing you all the best!
Star flower is great- thanks for the suggestion!
Your flower sweater design is beautiful!!! Sorry things are going the way they are right now. ❤
Thank you! And thanks for your support 💓
Oh I love Stardew!! I wish you a lot of cosy knitting and playing
Thank you so much 😊
It was so lovely to see what you’ve been working on❤ we’re gonna get through these next few years 🥹
Thank you! And yes we will craft through it 🥲
Your colour work design is stunning! And sending you all the best wishes with *everything* - it’s so tough out there right now.
Thank you so much- it’s tough for so many people so I appreciate the support 🩷
Thank you so much for providing a bit of a distraction during these scary times. I’m so sorry your job is caught up in all this chaos. I can’t imagine how unbelievably stressful that must be. I always love watching your podcast 😊
Thank you so much for your kind words- and I’m so glad I can be a distraction right now 🩷
My canadian heart is with u ❤
Thank you 🩷
I have playing SO much stardew lately!!! It’s such a comfort game for me (has been for a while) and I hadn’t played in a while but I restarted a new farm using the stardew valley expanded and its hooked me back in and definitely taken away from my knitting time haha
It’s sooo fun! This is my first farm and I love how immersed I get in it. and my wrists are getting a little break
Fellow US based global/public health girlie here - I can totally empathize with what you’re going through in your work and it’s been a really stressful and uncertain time ❤ Unrelated to knitting and government issues but you look absolutely gorg in this video
I’m so sorry you’re going through it too- at least we’re in it together 🩷 and thank you so much- that’s so nice to hear when I’m not putting much thought into my appearance right now 🤣
the blueberry patch on your beanie is just too cute!! it gives it a bit of a 90s vibe in my opinion, in the best way possible.
Oooh I haven’t thought of the 90s vibe but I get that! Thank you so much 😊
Liked, already a subscriber, and just bought your pattern! Hugs from 🇨🇦 😊
Thank you so much for the support. Sending love!
My jaw DROPPED when you showed your colorwork design! That is so gorgeous!! Also, loved the embroidered patch you sewed onto your hat, it's such a cute idea:)
Thank you! I’m so glad you like them!!!
I'm from Canada and it's been hard watching what's happening in the USA. I'm so sorry you're dealing with such uncertainty right now. Happy to watch when you're able to post. Also love your knits. As always they are beautiful ❤
🇺🇸❤️🇨🇦
Thank you so much for your kind words and support. You and others definitely make it worth it to continue posting when I’m feeling down- so I really appreciate it 🩷
Hey, do you have more info on the second garment you put into the cabinet? :)
Hi! Yes it’s the banana cardigan by we are knitters. I got it from a kit on their website where they send the yarn and the pattern! It’s made in their petite wool in natural and yarnicorn
Your bingo card is so cute! My knitting friend and I have been talking about making a knitting bingo card since the beginning of the year, and I'm so glad you shared yours so that we can use it as well! I hope you're able to have a more relaxed year <3
Thank you! And I’m so glad you can use the card 😊
I love Drops Brushed Alpaca, I made my Mist Sleeves out of it. Drops Kid Silk is terribly itchy for me, I haven't used any other mohair yarns because of budget reasons.
I agree- the drops kid silk is so itchy! And I’m too scared to try nicer mohairs because they’re so expensive
Great suggestions! The climate in Australia does make mohair a bit tricky to wear. For these type of yarn comparison videos, I would find it helpful if you also mentioned the yardage of each of the yarns.
That’s a good point too! Can you wear Suri easier? And good note, will do in the future! These are all about 25g and around the same yardage of 200 yds- but some will have more or less of course
I have been waiting for this video since a few months ago when you showed us a look at your video plans lol
I hope it was worth the wait!!
🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶
I'm finally getting caught up on TH-cam videos, and oh my goodness, that colorwork sweater looks like so much work! I really want to improve my stranded colorwork skills this year
It was so much work! But I do recommend just diving into a big project like that. The repetition of the stranded colorwork was really good for improving my skills
That cabled swatch is ethereal especially in that yarn combo! I can't wait to see what you do with it :)
Thank you!! I’m so excited to design with it. I think it’ll be a cardigan 🥰
i did a WIPGO board this year!! i put projects i procrastinate on (many duplicate squares) and each month call 2 squares, then each square needs 4 days of working on it to fill the square. last year was my "mess around" year and it was really fun i hope you enjoy yours !!!! but spinning a sweater quantity of yarn is #1 actually really hard to do well, holy cow, huge learning curve, so do not feel bad if you dont get to that one, and #2 HAVE SO MUCH FUN
Ooh WIPGO sounds so fun! And I’m glad you enjoyed your mess around year 😂 I’m hoping mine stays calm and fun. And good note! I will definitely need an e-spinner to tackle that and might just use my handspun as a contrast color to make it slightly easier 😊
omg ! i also did aknitting bindo and i loooove the way that it helps keep me focused. i have almost the same graphic design and a whole video on how its helping to manage my stash HAHA
Ooh! I’ll have to watch yours!
You inspired me to do 12 in 12 in 2024, and I think I'm gonna do it again this year! I have way too many single skeins of sock yarn sitting around anyway lol
Oh im so glad to hear that!!! Did you do all 12 socks?
I did! Though a few were gifts, so not all 12 ended up with me. I think it'll be a new yearly knitting tradition @@sarahs.handmakes
Hello ! How do you call the "thiings" you're using to gather your needles in your case (still learning the knitting vocabulary in english) ? Where can I buy such things ?
Hi! I think they’re called cord locks. You can find them on Etsy or Amazon or at some local yarn stores
mountains and seas 🩵
i LOVE the idea of a swatch bag!
Rush knitting a beret. I am also nosey in the way that makes me love "whats in my bag" videos. I was obsessed with the swatch bag. It's so cute and I need to make one.
Loved hearing you talk about the 2024 knits!
You made sooo many lovely pieces ❤
That is the cutest pear yarn display shelf ❤! Wishing you all the best for 2025! Happy crafting :)
Thank you so much! Wishing the best for 2025 to you too 😊
I love these aesthetic videos!! I never thought balletcore was my style but you've proven me wrong 😍
So many fun goodies to play with in the new year. Not sure if this was intentional or just my hearing but I heard you say hiber-night (instead of hibernate) and I love this word play as it describes how we treat the winters on our homestead. Don't be disappointed about the lack of nylon. I find that my socks all wear in the same spot after several years of regular use regardless of fiber content. So if anything consider adding that nylon where you typically have wear and tear. I figure when socks wear out it's just a reason to keep knitting more!
I didn't mean to say hiber-night but I do love that! And that's a good point about the fiber content as well. Socks will definitely wear regardless of the fiber content but anything I can do to wear them from a little longer is great. Although I will also continue making socks
The fish pouch is sooo cute! Interested to see how adding the nylon to the socks works. I've also seen some people use mohair, but no clue how well that wears lol
Thank you!! I love it so much. And I thought about mohair too! But I don't want to change the gauge or for my feet to get too sweaty with the mohair hehe. I'll definitely share about how the nylon works!
We got the same cable stitch book for a gift! 🎁 none of my gifts were a surprise, I asked for it, but that means no one wastes money on unappreciated gifts. I also got many balls of yarn 😅
Ooh! What are you planning on doing with the book? And that's great- I love an expected gift
Thanks for your videos! I have been knitting all my life and enjoy knitting content. You are by far my favorite You Tube knitter. I am also hypermobile. Have you tried strength training ? I did push ups to strengthen my forearms and no more wrist ganglions.I haven't had one since I was in my early thirties, and I knit even more now as I am retired.. Hypermobility does improve with age - my brother's hips were so loose he limped and couldn't really run as a child, and was excused from sports against his will. He ran marathons in his early sixties, until plantar fasciitis stopped him. But he doesn't limp anymore.
That is so sweet to hear- thank you so much! I have tried strength training. Right now, I do pilates and kaiut yoga to strengthen- but I also do some weights classes and just tried barre! It's definitely better now than before I started working out regularly. It's good to hear it may get even better as I age!
for your old-people reading kick... have you read 'The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared' by Jonas Jonasson (it's also been made into a movie and comics). If you haven't it's kind of different but a nice surprise. Thanks for a good year of chill-out time. And happy knitting in the New Year :)
Ooh no I haven't! I'll have to read it. Thank you for the suggestion. Happy knitting!
This aesthetic is best described as The Burrows meets the The Weasleys. At least that's how I'd describe it. thanks for the recs, will check some of these out!
That's a great description! Thanks for watching
What is the mic you’re using in this video?
Here's the link: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C9WNP8ZP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I've had it for a year and it works great. It was more than $20 when I bought it so I'm glad to see it's even more affordable now
Love that you put these in chapters and a Ravelry bundle. Thank you!
I'm so glad it's helpful!
Just wanted to add a shout-out to Starcrossed Knits! She has a lot of ballet-inspired patterns on her site. (And she has a fantastic youtube channel!)
That's a great mention as well! I love Starcrossed Knits.
I was a ballet dancer growing up and a dance major in college too! This is a great list clearly very well informed/researched! I too love that browns are becoming more common colors in place of nude/ballet pinks. It’s often listed out as part of the dress code for students/preprofessional dancers what colors they are allowed to wear for classes. I know for me in college, we could only wear neutral colors or dark gem tones for classes but we could go crazy for rehearsals (and we did). Once you get to the professional level everyone sort of just throws on whatever they have for their warm up layers and their outfits end up looking sort of funny sometimes but they are all super functional!
I'm so glad to hear that I was well-informed. Thanks for sharing your insights!
Please please please do whimsigoth next! I absolutely love these videos❤
I'll add it to my list. Thank you!
I needed this! My daughter is in ballet. 🩰
I'm so glad! Thanks for watching
This is so inspiring, I love the ballerina wrap so much!
I'm glad you think so!
I know you can't talk about every single pattern, but I would like to add: there's a beautiful free pattern for cabled leg warmers from Irene Lin, called Heidi Leg Warmers, but unfortunately there's only one size. But I think playing with gauge, there are still options. Also for wraps, Cara Wrap from Rebecca Clow is really nice and her patterns are great. And for bows, Fran Lopez has free pattern for a bow and she also has very cute beret with this bow.
Those are some really great recommendations! I have talked about the Heidi leg warmers before when talking about Apres Ski so I wanted to show some other patterns. I'll need to check out the Cara Wrap and the bow from Fran Lopez as well
@sarahs.handmakes Oh, I completely forgot that you've talked about it already! That makes sense!
