I was a copper in the Logan District for 10 years. We more often than not ended up in Logan Central, Woodridge, and Crestmead. The majority of calls were for DV and nearly all of those calls for Domestic violence were to Samoan, Tongan and NZ Maori families. It's a way of life for them. The thing I noticed most is that we always ended up dealing with the whole family. What is it in that psyche that casual violence to family members is so acceptable? You can divide those Logan suburbs up by crime as well. Aboriginals were drink and drug related. Islanders/ Polynesians were DV. African youth mainly stealing. White youth, mainly burglaries and car crime. And Mental health orders to Logan hospital? Christ, I stopped counting.
