    My guess is that this has been on the cards for some time and all parties wanted a smooth transition to the next era of Exodus. If there's anything more to it then no doubt it will all come out in due course. Sad to see Zetro go, happy that Dukes is his replacement.

    Scribe is an acquired taste imo… I’m still getting used to it. I’ve heard lots of ppl compare it to scrolls and the name of the album has a similar name… but if by scrolls we mean death metal Braincleaner and Erasing the Goblin are much closer to scrolls. Ditto regarding Realm which has a sorta alternative feel to it. Interesting to hear that the lineup on the latter albums is the same lineup as on Wonrowe Vision. That explains the hard rock sound on Realm… even a few popular alt rock riffs played on the title track?

      Yeah definitely. Like Ari Aster, Robert Eggers' grow on you and reward repeated viewings and I thought that might be the case here but I think it ultimately fell flat. Nevermore / Sanctuary one of the few all time favourites, elite songwriting and performance ahead of their time, the only bands I've got every albums they have released so far. Hopefully the next NM vocals will be as fitting range & tonewise as Todd La Torre was / is replacing Geoff Tate. Also expecting more of the extended intricate instrumental parts style in songwriting approach that makes Nevermore unique. P.S Waiting for the next Jeff Loomis solo album as well

      @@nightmarecabin8933 today I've watched the NM retrospective. I believe that Obsidian is as good as the self-titled, In Memory and Enemies having some more abstract melody lines, it would have benefited to have a instrumental track to compensate the absence of more instrumental parts throughout the album. After all no NM album has replicated twice the exact same songwriting formula and mood. Flawless discography so far with each release having it's own identity while keeping the Nevermore trademark sound. I saw them live in 2001 and they had another one scheduled near me in 2011 but got cancelled due to Jeff and Van leaving and subsequent band's hiatus, utterly unexpected for many, me included. Now with the latest news hopefully the NM flag will rise again just as high as before

    I'm very excited, I'll finally get to see Jeff Loomis shred at full power! But yeah, Warrel Dane will be hard to fill in for. Many of Nevermore's lyrics and the way Warrel conveyed them are very personal to him, and a lot of the songs wouldn't be right with a different singer. The majority of the Dreaming Neon Black album would sound weird, as you can hear the emotion and pain in Warrel's vocal deliveries on the album's recording. I do hope they perform some deeper cuts, such as Seed Awakening, Never Purify, Poison Godmachine, and Sea Of Possibilities. But, I'm getting way ahead of myself. 😂

    I never thought I'd live in a world with Nevermore returning after Warrel passed. They nearly had a reunion show before his passing, but Jeffs contract with AE squashed that. Jim has aged, hes always struggled with his health. I believe hes living in Alaska with his wife still. Things were patched up around Warrels death with Jim/Van, don't believe there is any remaining beef there. Jeff and Van are respectful dudes, plus I do believe Jim still has ownership rights to Nevermore - so it'd have to have his approval to some degree, along with royalty % from anything generated from the Nevermore reunion. I hate that Warrel is gone. Saddened me for quite some time, in fact its been difficult to listen to Nevermore ever since, They've been my favorite band since their self titled album. However, the chemistry that Loomis & Van have is undeniably rare. I can't imagine they'd ever lead the WD/Nevermore legacy in a bad direction at this point. I can't wait to hear more announcements about a 2nd guitarist, will it be Smyth? Voros? Curran? Broderick? Maybe Jim will write and record? Guest spots on tour? But most of all, who will be the vocalist? Warrels work in Nevermore is 10x harder to replicate his range and delivery compared to Sanctuary. Unless they have a secret weapon hidden from us all, they may have to shift directions with vocals.

      @nightmarecabin8933 Jim is...different. He went through his own thing with Warrels passing. Creating his own temporary band, all in dedication to Warrel. It was poorly produced, written, etc. I appreciated where it came from, but from a professional standard, it was very weak. AFAIK Jim's mother passed away and he inherited a property in Alaska, and he's since left Seattle to live there with his wife. Jim is definitely 'different' from most people, in a sincere and kind way.

    Hi guys. Phil Stevens here. Original guitarist with DB. Alex sent this link to me. Cheers for the retrospective. It's weird to hear other people talking about us. To hear you putting the song "Chamber of One" in the same sentence as "Schism" is praise indeed. If I had known that even one person would be affected by it when Tim and I first played it in my terrace house in Leeds all those years ago, it would have blown my mind. And the link to Maiden is a real mindfcuk! Tim and I were total Maiden fans. I remember hearing "Running Free" on "Top of the Pops" when I was 9 or 10, and suddenly ACDC and Quo just weren't heavy enough. Simon will absolutely nail the gig. When we were auditioning drummers, he played one track and we said "you're in". Once he got rid of his perm, he was total metal. You can still listen to "We the unwilling..." on last.fm www.last.fm/music/Dearly+Beheaded/We+The+Unwilling. If you're interested, you can hear what "In a Darkened Room" was meant to sound like: you can hear it on Soundcloud. I had wanted it to be a 1990s version of classic 1970s Rainbow turned up to 11. soundcloud.com/philip-stevens-385044635/in-a-darkened-room-ep-reassembled-rough-mix. Fingers crossed, the music should be on Spotify soon. Sony has bought the MFN back catalogue. It won't make us milioinaires on $0.000003 per play, but it means that people can still stumble upon it and blow their speakers with the sub-base on "Behind the sun"!

      It's smack bang in the middle of their development. It's maintains the raw energy of the early material but shows the band are developing. I think you'll have the opportunity to see them live soon. Thanks for watching.

    We’ve come for you all piss’s on the last two albums from great height .The beat anthrax show I’ve ever seen was Sonisphere 2009 with John . What could have been . It’s also the ONLY time I’ve ever heard a field of people shouting “Bring back Bush “ . However that Brixton show a few years ago was brilliant even if they only played only to represent John’s era . I think the songs you’re thinking of are one world and imitation of life .

    I like it , I prefer blood in blood out . However I prefer the songs I like on persona non grata . Oddly I think I thought the same about the last two priest albums .

    I was at my daughter's yesterday afternoon, went into my email and saw the "An announcement from Iron Maiden". My heart sank straight away with a bad feeling. Then I opened it up and was just gutted, read it out loud to my daughter and struggled a bit to get through it, I won't lie. 24 hours later now and, while still saddened, it's given way to more of a gratitude for everything he's given us over the years. And I'm just happy that it's all happened on his own terms. He's bowed out with the class and dignity that befits both the man himself and the Maiden family at large. And so it is that It turns out that my final memory of seeing Nicko on stage will be from Manchester last year. It was not long after the news of his stroke broke and, as always, the rest of the band left the stage to Nicko alone to take his bow at the end. You could tangibly feel the love in the room for him and between him and us. And there were more than a few misty eyes around the place. As Luke pointed out here, to have faced that crisis and come through it with the strength and determination to complete a world tour says more about the mark of the man than any words of mine ever could. Thank you for everything, Nicko. Godspeed, sir, you are and will remain much beloved by us all! Up The Irons, always!! 💔

    Meet Nicko in the early 90s when he was doing rhythm of the beast tour. I was an inspiring 12 year old drummer at the time. End of an era. Keep up the good work fellas. 👍

    Not meet as such but I when to Nottingham in 98 3 rows from the front end of the show walked to shake their hands and Nicko spotted me because I had the skinhead and he just came over rubbed his hands all over my head had a good laugh with him and the following Sunday front row Sheffield City Hall Arry and Jan wouldn’t leave me alone Arry put his head on my shoulder and Nicko must have remembered me because at the end of the show he just walked over shook my hand and gave me one of his drum sticks Top Man

    I hope this isn't a dopey question, but will Ncko drum on future studio albums? Last night at the last Brazil gig, Bruce said something like, 'He's not leaving the band.' The press release only mentions Nicko stepping back from just the live situation with the band.

      @nightmarecabin8933 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are no stupid questions Stephen, you're among friends here. At this point your guess is as good as mine at this point. Bruce did say "He's not leaving the band" and in the statement regarding Simon Dawson it says "for 2025". I'm guessing at this point they are leaving the door open but over time I think Nicko will become more occupied with his own personal life and projects. He'll probably still have a seat at the table when it comes to managing the back catalogue etc. There very well may be an album already recorded ready to go? Like I say, time will tell.
