Dallas missed a shot here. As Gaius came out of the house and the three met him coming up the alley in a daze of relief, he should've seen them at the last second and gone "Shalm shalom!" with a little wave of his hand before carrying on. It would've given more impetus to their being startled (they probably thought at first he was going there to arrest someone) and re-emphasised Gaius's new, ebullient mood.

Notice the hint of disappointment from Jesus when he told his followers that he has never seen such faith from all those he encountered? It was like he was trying to tell them that even they, the people closest to him, do not have that level of faith in him.

The Bible told this story well enough to make me cry. This scene is every bit as accurate as I imagined it would be. In the bible the humility he showed was amazing. But a faith so absolute that to him it was fact not belief was the real story here. That’s why Jesus sends him away and tells him, let it happen according to your faith. The centurion leaves happy knowing his son is going to be ok

I knew Gaius would be the centurion who would ask Jesus to heal his servant. I like the plot twist of how the servant is his son. I wager that this is the same Gaus that Saint Paul mentions.

One of the things I've come to realize in my life's journey is the Church is failing because we fail to "love one another". Love is about sacrifice. Love is about understanding and humbly approaching our fellow body members with ideas that can help them and doing so with kindness and then giving them the time they need to help them. One example is men who have difficulty with pornography. Older men who are in that same church should offer themselves to the younger men to help them stop this addictive behavior. The older men need to be understanding and compassionate when another admits they messed up. The only question that should be asked is, "How can WE prevent this in the future?" The Older man joins in the journey with then young man to help him through this difficult addiction. This is the same with sugar or cocaine or alcohol or any other additive behavior. The elders should be willing to help the younger church people with compassion and understanding. We, in our Christian churches, have failed to do this and so, our churches are not the "light on the hill", drawing unbelievers to our LORD because we emulate Christ. No!! I am beginning to see a change in some churches toward the good. About 98% of those who enter a specific church are Christians who are looking for real love, as I've stated above. An older man or woman should be greeting them, talking to them, seeing if they need anything. Let us, as Christ-followers "Love one another" as Jesus has commanded us.
