I feel for you sawiya, going through this overwhelm now with two kids under 3. when I’m home alone or even at my mums, the weight and responsibility of the two kids is heavy. I am currently getting therapy for my anxiety. Let me know if you figure it out. My therapist said that my anxious reactions are learnt behaviours from my mum. Even if my mum is telling me now to take it easy, what I saw when I was younger or even now is what I’ve learnt and my mum is still an anxious mum. On the road to get better but it starts with taking time away from the kids to refuel. A short walk in a park or a few hours in a sisters circle. Remembering what it feels like to be kid free and relaxed, carefree. And then trying to re-centre myself when I’m back with the kids. Wish you all the best with it ❤️ may Allah grant you ease. ❤

Amazing episode! Definitely needed. Lots of gems. All the tangents are interesting. Let’s reset our mindset ! Grandparent antenatal classes is a good idea. I brought my mum to mine. She was shocked at how much the advice has changed. Can we talk more about trusting our bodies? Women hating the sight of their husbands when they are postpartum?

Baby can latch properly and it still may hurt? Why!??! Because they’ve been latching wrong for the first few days, and tearing at your nipple, so by the time they do latch properly, you may still be in pain, especially when your breasts have more milk that needed. Midwives definitely need to say this more because you may always feel like you’re doing it wrong, but they should be more open to saying that it may hurt in the beginning, regardless, especially if it’s your first time.

Literally, I have a 2 week old and people are already saying that I’m spoiling her, because I pick her up when she’s crying 😅 …what am I supposed to do? Leave her to cry when I know she’s hungry 😂 !! She doesn’t know any better. She’s just a baby. Like you all said “they’re in the womb for 9 months”. Comfort and contact is all they know.

@@tricksie88 ooow sorry I think you misunderstood my point, what i was trying to say is that we only see pregnancy as someone carrying a package to be delivered that’s it meanwhile they go through all these complications pre during and post pregnancy and we men t tend to overlook the sheer stress and anxiety that our ladies go through. If we all saw it this way we would put much more respect on our women . In that sense im saying that there lives in general are way more interesting and valuable than we men acknowledge it to be. We should put more respect on their name and only ignorance is to be blamed which is why i subscribed to this channel first 🙏🏿

Haha, I cracked up listening to this podcast! Btw love you guys and as a doctor listening to you guys talk about cervical cerclage was interesting, you guys were somewhat there but just to clarity the mucus plug stays intact even after cervical shortening because the cervix isn't dilated (cervical shortening is the length of the cervix or the effacement, where as dilation is when the cervix starts actually opening) so the mucus plug initially stays intact but after the cervix is further shortened what can happen is the process of dilation initiates and that’s when the plug might fall out. Also the cervix is the opening of our uterus (womb) it situated right at the end of our vaginal canal vertically (it’s basically the mouths of our womb) Just had my first baby and listening to this podcast makes me feel sane, please keep up the great work and you’re appreciated. Ps, tried leaving a comment on Spotify but I was restricted so thought I would carry on on TH-cam
