Which way do I pull the shifter to put it into drive and park
The HT-4100 V8 got a bad reputation which it did not deserve. The early 80's Fleetwoods and Deltas may have been a touch lean on 0-60, but they were profoundly comfortable, very safe for the era, and the Deltas were great on gas & cold weather starting without fuel injection. Awesome car.
My order is most beautiful Mercedes Bens are the 770 and 770k the W126 in this video and the W211 😘❤️ and this all coming from a older BMW not fan boy but fan man 😃🫨
Thats a beauty! I see it has five bolt wheels and looks lowered. Did you use adapters or five bolt drop spindles?
Nice AMX with some aftermarket extra's. no engine call out as it would be a 360, the cowl induction looks to be blocked off, as it would be a non go pac car. I am original owner of a 73 AMX, ordered it new in March of 73, took 7 weeks to build and ship to the dealer. Mine is Cordoba brown with gold fade to black T stripe. 401 go pac, with 4-speed. All black interior, all tint windows, floor console , power steering, am fm Motorola stereo, inside hood release, light group, deluxe wipers, front spoiler, insulation group, protection group, vinal body side scuff molding. It stickered at $4,471.90, of that the go pac with the cowl induction added $476.25. Upon delivery I had the stock 3.54 rear gears changed to the dealer install 3.73. I changed the very restrictive stock intake to the 1970 Rebel Machine cast iron intake along with a 650 cfm holly carb. I also replaced the front sway bar with a larger 1 in. dia. bar, added a 1/2 in. dia. rear sway bar. I then went racing on the local gymkhana road course, 1st 2 years I learned how to race the Javelin. I had both rear axels and hubs pulled with a second 1/4 in. keyway machined 180 deg. opposite into the axel and hub assembly to keep the rear wheel and hub from separating and coming off. It was a common problem with AMC when the Javelin raced. The third year I won one 1st place finish with two 3rd place finish. The Javelin AMX was then retired from racing in 1980 and put into storage for 15 years. Today it is driven a few times a year with now close to 95,000 miles on it. Only issue with the engine is the oil pump and timing chain, which was both changed at 35,000 miles and again at 75,000 miles. AMC always had issues with their oil pumps and with any kind of performance driving with an old pump, the rear main bearing gets little to no oil to it, more than a few 390 and 401 engines were ruined because of this.
Good post! What is the cure for the rear main issue? See guys drilling and tapping the lifter valley area what else?
Congratulations gays its wonderful that car! Gretting from Argentine.! 😊😊
She's so fine.......my 409.
Awesome car. I'd swap the wheels to Cragers.
Most any wheel looked good on those. Cragars, Western Daisys, Centerlines, Cragar look alikes, Rockets etc. Friend sold his 68 AMX recently (big bad orange), gave me rides in it back in the 70s when I was a kid. 12k here in Ca. Remember he had the rear wheels (stock5 spokes) widened so it looked stock.
Very nice car; I've got a 56 Nomad. Love these cars!
Very nice
Seems like the engine idle speed is a bit high....My Dad had a '57 Chevy 210 2 door with the 6 cylinder power glide that he bought new. He later got a nearly new 1965 Impala 4 door hardtop in two tone paint. pale yellow with white roof. 283 with the 3 speed manual....He traded that car in 1973 and later regretted not keeping it.
Check your Fuel Gauge
Very nice , thanks for sharing this video....😊
Beautiful work of art.... last of the Exner cars.
Show the outside of the Car!
Another fucked up classic i guess dementia has affected this owner cant fix stupid
Sweet!
I bought brand new 69 Z/28 a month before our wedding . Our honeymoon in Colorado . What a blast driving that car thru the Rocky Mountains .
Nice to see you drive it. They are quickly becoming garage art instead of drivers
Sounds smooth asf! No cammed sound.
Thank you for sharing.
Nice Split Window, George
🖐 Hey, Kirk Patterson had one of these beauties
I am the original owner of a 1972 Javelin AMX 401. From day one of the dealership's back lot in the dark on a rainy night it was love as first sight. I've had ZERO problems, always a pleasure to drive, on a banked turn would corner like its on rails. AMC built an excellent car, also building them with all the performance bells and whistles, no need to add aftermarket parts, the car is balanced, powerful, attractive and extremely easy to tune and replace points and plugs, can do it in ten minutes.
Looks like if a Camaro and Mustang Mach 1 had a baby. 😂
Thats great to hear! I was 4 when you bought that! Got my 71sst 401 aroudn 18-19...2nd car I owned, for $400 I had a reliable daily that made a bunch of torque. Would fry the tires until one popped, and did. Never had to lift the hood unless I changed the oil. Hopping back into my 67 rs that was fairly modded...was no longer happy with my 327. Torque is truly king on the street!
Beautiful car, i want a tripe black 68 Torino formal roof with a big block and four speed. Hey, a boy can dream. Right ?
Very nice 57 original, I sure enjoy the 57 I own. 💯🆒
Beautiful car in and out
Beautiful
Thanks, great Classic & History….the CJ, SCJ,R CODES, Drag Pak Fire stuff is HISTORICAL…I am envious, as I always wanted “” one” of these Super Fords , especially from early 1963*: a School Mate’s new SCATBACK, 1963.5 GALAXIE 500/427 */ 4 Speed /loaded, at our local Service STATION HANG OUT, ETC.. ( He blew engine by Winter) INTERESTINGLY, I liked my 1967/ low miles ::budget 1966 GALAXIE 500\XL/4 Speed/352/4 BBLL/ Burgandy , improved GREATLY..
Beautiful car love it 😀
Believe it or not but my Dad actually has video footage of that event in 1969 at Thompson. The video quality is from 1960s so it’s not perfect but it’s still video footage and a dark blue Ford Cobra SportsRoof is going down the track.
Another one who knows how to drive. Congratulations!
That classic looks fine. My concern is the suicide steering system. In a frontal crash driver dies instantly when steering wheel gets into the cabin and hits the driver's head and neck. I would install a safety steering system that doesn't go into the cabin in case of a crash. Thanks.
I love that Torino Cobra Jet! 👍Check out my '68 Barracuda fastback powered by a 512 stroker, backed by an A833 4 speed manual and my '72 Nova SS 350 on my channel glengabruch4664 👍
The Friggin Going Thing!!
In 1983, my buddy had a 69 with a 390 4 speed. Cool cars.
Wouldn't change anything on that car even if it wasn't worth a ton of $. Body style color and drag-package are so cool and really a historical pice of art. ❤️It
Love it. Only thing I'd suggest you change, is your driving shoes. 😂
Heck no, leave them shoes on! Run what you brung! Thats what Len and Eddie would do, 😉
@@misterslideways 🤣🤣🤣
Back in the day, wingtips were the proper powershift apparel.
@@gearbanger57 🤣
Yes Sir, the old Dave Marcis special’s. Love it!
Badass 👍
Beautiful Ford! Love that body style!
Truly an unmolested 57' Chevy. Absolutely no history of rape or sexual abuse!☝😁
What a great video. And a guy like me who knows how and love to drive a 3 on the column. You are very gentle, and you don't wrestle it like so many people do. And you don't over rev it to start out, as you let the torque do the work. And that first gear whine is music to my ears. I have three on the tree vehicles currently, learned how to drive on a Ford F-100 with three on the tree and it is the best combination engine and transmission ever produced. Thanks for posting!
America- we had it all.
I love that car so much I can’t take my mind off it! I’ve always wondered what it would be like to drive a 57 that drove just like that..
So he turns left in front of an oncoming truck ! Shouldn't be allowed to drive a valuable classic car !
😂🤣
I noticed that too! I hate it when people do that, with any sort of car not just a classic. Slow down and enjoy the drive, you’ll still get there with a better chance of being in one piece.
It’s his car. He can drive it anyway he wants!!!😢
@@mofer35 not a good way to make that turn no matter what. Too many people on the road taking chances and in some cases it’s not themselves they endanger but it’s other drivers. Never know what their skill or emotional level of them is.
Beautiful z28!!! That car sounds amazing!!!
Please be careful because some idiot may run over it just because they envy you for having it and they can't! That definitely is the prettiest car GM ever built in my book. I have a 57 Belair Four door Sports Coupe! Love it too!
sigma grindset car
beautiful automobile
Cars today may be faster, but I grew up with these types of cars, the ones that actually increased your blood pressure! Great video, 1st gen z's are the best
