I Asked a Skyrim Guard for His Name and GOT A ROYAL TREAT! (Mantella)
We're using the Mantella AI conversation mod to talk to a Whiterun Guard. You won't believe what happens when I ask him for his name... It's not what you'd expect! Well, let's just say it's a good thing the mod is designed to make the game more realistic, because this guard's response is straight out of a comedy. If you're looking for reasons to install Mantella and bother with the convoluted installation process then that's it.

I wonder if mantella can take mods into account like 'Configurable Real Names', or 'NPC's Name Distributor' that gives names to generic NPCs like bandits and guards.

Anyone know how to install this with one of the other supported ais on the page? Gpt is obnoxious and that's all the tutorials explain how to use
Install the mod with any tutorial, changing the model to OpenRouter API is just a matter of changing the model name and token context in the config. Can't say about local models because not worth the effort imho, you need an insane rig to run the game and the model at the same time and get acceptable response times and coherence.

As much as I want AI to be used like this in video games, at the same time I don't want actual writers and voice actors to get their jobs taken away.. What shall we do?
Have the voice actor say every word in the dictionary
Get them to train a voice model that is licensed out? People will always want to associate a voice to a person, I think.
Nothing can be done I'm afraid, at the end of the day the voice actors will get robbed the most.

I Remember that there was also a playable demo of the game on a different Demo Disc, and the neat part was that if you went back on the truck after getting the pistol, you could get the NIKITA Rocket Launcher and I just had fun messing with the soldiers by shooting a rocket and having it fly around for a bit, the soldiers wouldn't get the "!" alert until the rocket would explode, instead they just watched it fly around!

Man, I remember the C4 Part, really epic stuff and the music fit so well with that part that I was getting excited each time!
Life Counter on the bottom looked pretty cool, I remember being confused when I got to try the demo much later and it was in the top left corner because of how much I watched this trailer on my ps1 lol

This demo disk came with my PS1 and also included one final fantasy 8. Tekken 3 was the first game I bought. All 3 games were among the best I ever played.
