Very good show, thanks! You had some unhappy roses that, unfortunately, looked all-too-familiar to me lol. Great job bringing 'em back! An investment in a 2 gallon pump sprayer will pay off in treatment options as well as expense, . In the hot and humid northeast I gave up on just organic pest control for roses. I now use Rose Pride, neem, & insecticidal soap. And a systemic. There used to be an Ortho product called Orthenex that worked like a charm, but it's no longer available.

A few years ago we bought a home with beautiful rose bushes in the back yard. We had very young kids at the time (still do), but life is easy enough for me to really start taking care of them. I'm hoping it becomes something my 4 year old daughter and I do together. This video was incredibly helpful. Thank you for making it. I do have a question. At the beginning of the video you commented that your soaker hose was above ground. It made me think that you could possibly bury them slightly beneath the surface. Do you have any thoughts on that or potential problems with doing so that I might not be thinking of given that I'm less than a week into researching the topic. THANK YOU AGAIN!

I am in zone 9b and am on a search for a lavender rose. Full sun. This one seems to do well in a hot climate like mine. It gets humid here. Blue girl seems to be a good candidate for me.

Do you have any info on damask roses kasanlik & Omar Khayyam please.. because they’re just getting bigger & bigger from baby stage & no flowers first yr… could it be that they have H & W 8 ft. by 8 ft & flower on lady yr’s wood please?

My “ snazee “..( your ketchup & mustard rose ) is 6-7 inches in England.. first bloom .. you’re right.. it’s a giant flower in cooler conditions..i bought it after seeing this video

If you give this rose at 3.33 Westland’s feed with horse manure.. even the nearly dead one of my roses from 1995 came back to life with sprouts all over the place.. it’s a completely fresh green picture now

Beautiful! I’m in Scottsdale. What kind of light do your roses get. I have one rose that gets intense morning light and it just burns the blooms. It is the first year, planted bare root in February, maybe they’ll toughen up? They are in containers so I can move them. I’m trying to find the line between enough sun and too much sun. It’s a very thin line in The Valley. Thanks!

Your roses look well shaded. For someone in Phoenix with roses hit with direct sun all day in summer, would you suggest a sunscreen hung overhead? Any specific percentage? Nurseries here sell 70 percent. Thanks!

I'm in 9b California. I really appreciate your suggestions. I have a Peace rose and a Sweet Inspiration and they are already struggling in 90° all day. Wonder if you've ever shaded your roses with other plants? I've placed butterfly bush and pitted trees next to roses in he's it will help, but I don't see any real rosarians doing such a thing.

I just got one for $6.00 a couple months ago and it flowered this week.

This kind of atmosphere & garden keep yours mind “ peaceful “… gardening is hard work but therapeutic at the same time.. everybody needs this type of beautiful place in their lives … my roses are now reaching well over 150… & i’ve got some roses from 1995..one my dad bought me in 1994 .. he was gone in 2000

The man who lived at the above flat then ours had a red HT rose bush in a terracotta pot on the balcony’s ledge in mid sixties in East Africa..i was 3-4..& my 3 sisters used to ask for a rose every morning on their way to school.. he used to fetch a pair of scissors & toss one down..in the evenings when he used to get home from work.. we used to go see him & he would give the rose bush cooled down boiled fish water ( the bush had more flowers then leaves) & give us a thick book with textile material samples in it to look at … i now have 13 different types of red roses… all because of this unforgettable memories

I’m surprised that blue girl is doing good here in Utah I’m in zone 6b and so it does very well and I have planted facing north that gets shade from the afternoon sun but the blooms and fragrance is outstanding on that one
