Chasing a V8 Supercar Driver in his Spaceframe 560 WHP TA2 Supercar
During the 2017 Bangsaen Street Race in the GTC class, the organizers allowed a TA2 car to join as a type of exhibition for a new series / class they were going to start the following year.
With less weight and 150-180 WHP more it was thought that it would just pull away and not get involved in the championship fight in the GTC class.
In the class we all knew that it was not scoring any points, so we could have just let it go, but to all spectators watching it looked like it was winning, and we were in 2nd place, so we decided to take the fight to the driver and car.
The car was driven by V8 Supercar Driver Steve Owen from Australia who had flown in for the event and exhibition drive.

On a track day the in 2017 in Thailand, the owner of this Porsche 911 GT3RS asked me to take his friend around the track as a passenger to show him what it could do. I enjoy taking people around as passengers in their own cars showing them the correct lines and doing a bit of coaching along the lap, and then seeing how much they improve afterwards.

We once again broke our Subaru Lap Record around the Batangas Racing Circuit with our stage 4 upgrades setting a lap of 1.42.23. This lap record was with a misshift so there is plenty of possibility for further improving it.

During our testing of the car with the new 4 Way race suspension the wastegate clamp failed causing the Garrett wastegate and the dump pipe to fall off the car and roll onto the dry grass out the track setting the grass on fire. Back on the Dyno retuning the car with 31 PSI of Boost on E85. We tuned the throttle map and response in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear.

      I dont drive it on the street anymore due to a lot of other parts installed by now but when the video was made and with the setup it had it would be no issue on the street

    Any issues with oiling? Are you going to convert to dry sump?

      No issues yet, but for reliability we will be upgrading with a dry sump soon as we know it will become an issue....we plan to use the RCM stage 4 drysump kit

    How did the installation go? Did you have to use larger 10mm bolts? Worth it?

      Its not yet been installed....It was purchased for my GVF which will be the final race car....the VA is only being used to develop and testing until the GVF is ready.....most parts fit both models BUT the driveshaft for the GVF is 5 cm shorter than the driveshaft fir the VA which we did not know so we were not able to install it yet.

    Are you sure it’s ok to put the fuel tank in the passenger compartment?

      Its not a fuel tank....its a water tank....its being used to spray water mist onto the intercooler during hot laps for better performance

      Unless you are referring to the GVF having the Fuelcell installed behind the driver in the passenger seat....the Fuelcell is a safety type FIA appro ed fuelcell which is stored inside an aluminium crash case which is stored inside a cash frame welded to the chassie and between the driver and the fuel cell there will be a seperation referred to as a firewall....so its as safe as it can be made and better protected from fires or impacts than the original one under that car.

      Yes EL headers but custom made by MEK Automotive....Yes Invidia R400 exhaust
