The key problem with decriminalized illegal drugs like fentanyl is that society has not yet adequately regulated individual age rights and corresponding legal responsibilities in a manner similar to the regulation of alcohol consumption. This lack of regulation creates significant risks, akin to allowing individuals to start driving a car without brakes. In the case of alcohol, society has established clear legal frameworks that set age limits and responsibilities to ensure safe consumption. These regulations include the legal drinking age, restrictions on purchase and possession, and public awareness campaigns about the risks and responsible use. These measures aim to minimize harm and protect public health and safety. However, with decriminalized drugs like fentanyl, such comprehensive regulatory frameworks are often lacking. There may be insufficient guidelines on who can access these substances, under what conditions, and with what precautions. This regulatory gap leaves individuals, especially younger and more vulnerable populations, exposed to significant dangers without the necessary protections. Fentanyl, in particular, poses a unique threat due to its high potency and the potential for overdose. Without stringent regulations and education on safe use, the decriminalization of such drugs can lead to widespread misuse, accidental overdoses, and severe public health crises. In essence, the decriminalization of drugs like fentanyl requires a robust and well-enforced regulatory system that balances individual rights with societal responsibilities. This system should mirror the comprehensive approach taken with alcohol regulation, ensuring that individuals are aware of the risks, understand the responsibilities, and have access to necessary safeguards. Without such measures, decriminalizing potent drugs can be as dangerous as allowing people to drive cars without brakes, leading to potentially disastrous consequences.

I have a friend that had to move from Denver in order to get clean. 13 years later, he is retired with money in the bank, a paid-for house and has a happy life. Thank GOD he was able to get out in time. Denver, like so many US cities, is now a toilet because of drugs and the illegal invaders bringing them in. FJB and F the cartels. 🖕🏽🖕🏽

It's the federal government's fault, the state government's fault and it wasn't an overdose. One thing I didn't hear was that as a parent I failed my child. I didn't spend enough time with them, I didn't make them accountable to me or I didn't raise them up in the fear of the Lord. Also, liberal politicians are repeatedly elected. They live for votes to stay in power, not to truly serve the people.

Back in the 1980's & 1990's Doctor across 3 country were writing prescriptions for Opiods like they were candy. Now the Medical Field blames the patients they got addicted. I suffer Chronic Panin & can't get anything for pain but someone who is snorting pills everyday can get pain medication & use Fentynla why can't I get help w/pain. I didn't ask to be abused as a child & as an adult, my mother was on Phenobarbital for elispy in 1964 when I was born they didn't think about medication mom takes goes to babied. We went thru withdrawal as knew Borns in Colorado. I'm 59 & the pain one day will get the best of me.Til then I stay strong, walk 10,000 everyday.

Ffs nearly every one of these stories “weren’t overdoses” apparently. Simply innocent drug users buying drugs illegally on the street, only to find out (the hard way) they weren’t pharmaceutical grade product. How many times were they “only buying oxy”? Apparently that’s ok now, despite being responsible for epidemic levels of overdoses a few years back? Timing’s a little perplexing. Election year by any chance?

This is why we cant have that individual back in office, voting for him cause Biden didnt gave you what you wanted is not gonna get you what you want. Take a look at history and how everything is been getting more and more expensive, is not a political party issue, is a cultural behavior issue

If God forbid you are going to buy or take one of these pills, and I'm just trying to be realistic here, I would think there is a safe injection sight in your state that could test the pill or supervise the person taking it. I know this sounds like alot of hassle for 1 pill but it could save you.

I wish people would stop buying off the net because you don’t know what you’re getting. I don’t find it very coincidental that fentanyl and other really deadly opioid synthetic opioid drugs are made in Chinese laboratories. China is a communist country who probably killed their drug addicts. So why are we supporting our regime like that? The reason the bill was ineffective was because you left too many doors open. Simple possession is not a crime anymore. Well, OK, but that’s not enough. You have to have dangerous things like this controlled and maybe some of the softer stuff legalized, but not only legalized, but available in Legal dispensaries. Here in Canada, herb is legal. I get it from a dispensary. I wouldn’t even buy herb off the street because you don’t know what you’re getting. Even pot could be laced with fentanyl. But I don’t have to worry about that because there’s a dispensary Legally selling to people over the age of 19. That’s what they need to do. If they’re going to say goodbye to the word on drugs, and let’s save lives, they need to legalize certain things that aren’t gonna kill you and not be buying stuff off the web made in Chinese laboratories who would like nothing more than to destroy America and the rest of the western world.

I can’t help thinking that drugs need to be legalised and sold to addicts in medical facilities. This way people won’t be dying from overdoses. The war on drugs is an expensive failure prohibition doesn’t work

PLEASE...tell me how is it the same as any other drug case?? If a person buys heroin, and dies of a heroin overdose then it would be the buyers fault. But if a person buys heroin and dies of fentanyl poisoning then NO it's not their fault. They were lied to, they was duped. The person that sold it to them did not tell them it was fentanyl so that is deception and if the person dies, it's murder!! Four pack of sugar, he's talking about pure unadulterated fentanyl not what's on the streets. I'm not saying it isn't dangerous, I've been narcaned five, six times. I know how dangerous it is. People are going to do what they are going to do. It's called freedom. Legalize, put into place housing, safe using, I mean c'mon people, these are human beings. Sweden and other countries have shown what works. The problem here is politics. Ego driven help, ego driven politicians. Human beings needed help to be who they want to be, whatever they may be. I believe there was this paper written a couple hundred years ago about what freedom is and about. That paper gave is all protection under the law to be free to be who we are. I'm not saying addiction is ok, I'm an addict, it's not ok. But denying people the right to not feel what they feel from a life that was warped from the get. It's a huge issue here but only because this place is turning into a police state of sorts. Prosecute them send them to prison because they are living in a family created hell they never asked for. One that they don't even know is happening
