I used to obsess over tech stack. Then i just started getting stuff done in SwiftUI. I still get distracted by shiny new Js frameworks but I’ve finally got rid of the FOMO and get things done with Swift Enjoying your videos man subbed!

Wow, thanks for sharing! ❤ I’m at a crossroad now, as an unemployed senior product designer (and former front end developer). Last year I went from being laid off to a startup going bankrupt. Highs and lows like crazy. Now I feel I question my whole identity and what to do. I love creating and have jumped back into React (from stopping 2018). I’m trying to find my bearings and get “back into the job market” but it’s so tough, even as a senior. Now I’m thinking of picking up 1-2 of all the ideas I have and simply try go for it! Why keep telling myself I have to play it like “they” force us to?

How you REALIZE you make $ while you were 💤 was the lightbulb 💡 moment we all 9-6pm office slaves need to experience for ourselves.

Thanks for the awesome video Gobie! When you quit your job, can I know how long was your runway? How many months could your savings last you before you went broke and had to find some sort of job to pay off your monthly expenses? Am thinking of quitting my healthcare job to build SaaS / mobile apps. Have a fair bit of money saved up, and my savings could easily last me at least 2 years (I'm not married, no kids and no mortgage to pay). Have been learning programming on the side for about 8 months now, 2-3 hours every night after work and 5-6 hours on weekends. But still unsure if I should take the plunge because I kept thinking of the opportunity cost - if I quit, i will be losing X amount of money which I could have earned had I not quit. How did you get over this feeling?

I didn't listen to myself many years ago when I was thinking the same way. I stayed in my professional career and now at around 28 years. I truly regret all the time I lost and I felt the same way that I never had energy for my private life. I think everybody has to take a good account of their own needs to determine if they really want to commit themselves to a career
