That was a crazy last catch always suck to lose a bait to it hopefully someone will catch him and get that lure out of him. Great finish Chris tournament can be frustrating and or green friends try our patience, but brings us out to fish them again and again. This is great. Thanks for sharing! I just got a kayak 2 months ago and haven't touched my boat since then. I have fished Cedar twice last year. First trip out my 10 year old caught a 5.5 lb! We took pictures and put her back in. I am thinking about starting to fish there more to add some variety when I bass fish. I usually fish Elkhorn Creek. I have a pretty good GPX file with waypoints. Any tips on where to start looking for them in a kayak? Its a Bonafide ss127 with trolling motor and electronics.

Weird I fish there barely catch a thing... I was there right after the end of that tournament and caught my pb for that lake 16¾

Watching reach out that far to net that fish as big as you are really shows the stability of that unlimited.. really surprised you didn't flip.. being a big guy like you makes lean towards buying the unlimited..

Idk what kinda jigs you throw that you don’t hafta set the hook with and start reeling?? First time viewer and I owned a jig company and lived on that lake for 7 years with several 20+ bags on jigs. First thing..move those rods behind you from vertical to laying back at 9 o’clock so you can put the wood to them jig fish and not worry about hitting rods behind you. I watched several of your jig fish (lost and caught) and you never drop the rod tip towards the fish and remove slack. You do 3 handle cranks and lift the rod over your head. My man you’re not putting power to the hook point. Just my observations.

Chris first of thank you for sharing your day on the water. In this very drama filled day wow talk about reaching some extreme emotions! There is nothing wrong with it, it shows that you are competitive and want to do well with every cast and every catch! Every time you try and compete at the highest level and I respect those reactions! What I really appreciate is you took a moment from fishing turned yourself away from your seat regroup, refocus and sent a prayer that’s what a really true man does he doesn’t quit! Chris thank you for sharing your tournament day on the river I’m glad you got over those jitters cause you look pretty confident to me on this river! I’m getting that bug for purchasing my own Nucanoe unlimited, but I did get to look at the new Bonafide xtr 130 that’s a pretty plastic boat as well lol. If you want to pursue more river tournament in the future have you looked into Drew Gregory’s kayak adventure series trail that has brought in a lot of top anglers in the world! Chris it’s nice to see you working together to stay safe and have fun on this river it’s also the reason I want to pursue this life the network or community in kayak fishing is high class character and integrity a group of want to be a part of! i was just on that lake Saturday. caught more trees than fish. that place can be fun and a nightmare all in the same day. got to watch for those trees just under the water in some places.

Yes sir that’s what I’m talking about way to go Chris! Thank you so much for sharing your tournament day on the water you got the fish you needed a full bag made some culls, but what I love most is even though it was a competition some of you took the time to hang out and talk about the bite. Your day on the water, but it was all uplifting and that’s what fishing is all about! People need to see this side of fishing not the negative stuff it brings life down and should have the opposite effect! Cheri’s thank you for sharing your day it must have been a beautiful day on the lake looked a little hot but you went at it full throttle! Chris my heart fell into my stomach it wrenched in feeling when you lost that big fish sudden silence filled the air! Great anglers will learn to refocus, realigned themselves to get themselves back into the game and it seemed that someone who was blasting their music got you back in track again!
