Rolex Submariner Date 41mm - Does Size Really Matter?
It’s weird, I see many shots where it looks huge on people’s wrists and I don’t have big wrists but I am 6’5. I went into the AD and tried on a 124060 and it looked small to medium on my wrist. Fit like a glove! But not for sale lol.
Good video 👍
I appreciate it! Thanks for watching. 🙏
I own this watch. To me its the most refined tudor/rolex dive watch. Vintage rolex is too janky and modern is too bulky. The bb54 is refined in case size, thickness, bezel, flatter case (vs bulbous bb58), etc.
Nice review, just got my no date from my AD this past weekend, amazing quality and such a classic. Enjoy!
Thanks for watching and congrats on picking up the no-date Sub! Such a timeless piece with incredible quality-can’t go wrong with a classic like that. Hope you enjoy every second of it!
Do you like the protective stickers. I see you added !Plan on keeping them forever ?
@@jjrusso8295 good eye! I currently have the Styx Watch Protection film, that should last about 5 years. Yes, I love it and don’t need to worry about the clasp or the bracelet getting scratched. I highly recommend it if scratches bother you.
Bro that's a watch for the near sighted or what 😅
Haha, I feel you on that one-I’m definitely nearsighted myself! 😂 Some watches just hit different with those big, bold dials, and they’re great for making a statement (or just actually being able to read the time!). Whether it's for style or practicality, there's always room for the oversized numerals!
The Submariner is objectively better than all black bays, including the 54 and new master chronometer 41s. I, however, prefer the BB54’s looks and dimensions over the maxi case sub and the latest 41mm sub. From my lens, the submariner lost its charm and elegance when the 116610 and 114060 maxi subs replaced the 5 digit subs. If I wanted a submariner again, I would opt for a classic 14060.
Appreciate you chiming in! I totally get where you're coming from-there’s something about those pre-maxi Subs like the 14060 that just hit differently,. They had this understated charm and elegance that the modern versions, for all their technical upgrades, just don’t quite capture. I’m with you on the BB54-it’s got this perfect blend of vintage aesthetics and manageable dimensions that make it feel special on the wrist, especially compared to the bulkier modern Subs.
Yo bro, can you please film the watches further away from the wrist - you can zoom in though - it maintains proper perspective so the watches don’t artificially look ginormous on you!!!
Thanks for the feedback, @nhbmk! I totally get what you mean-I’ll definitely make an adjustment to film the watches further away to give a more accurate perspective. Appreciate you looking out and helping me improve the content! 🙏 Keep the suggestions coming!
That strap is sharp, what brand is it?
Thanks! I got the strap from a brand called Perpetual Straps.
Really enjoyed this review! I have an 114060 and when I saw the 12 series in person, I couldn’t believe the difference in lug sizes. I think in the no date version , I prefer the 11 series. In the date sub, I like the 12!
Thanks so much for the kind words-I’m glad you enjoyed the review! I totally hear you on the lug sizes; seeing the 12 series in person is such a game-changer, right? The way those slimmer lugs alter the whole vibe is wild. I love that you have the 114060-it’s such a classic, and honestly, I get why the no-date just feels right in the 11 series. The Date Sub in the 12, though? Chef's kiss. It’s cool how these small changes can make a big difference in what we love about each piece. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts-wear that Sub in good health!
Looks fine in size to me. But I have large wrists and struggle with getting watches to fit.
I totally get where you’re coming from-it’s not easy finding the right watch when you’ve got larger wrists. I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum with smaller wrists, so I know the struggle of finding that perfect fit, just in a different way. It’s funny how what works for one doesn’t always work for another, but that’s what makes the watch journey so personal, right? If you’ve found any brands or styles that fit better, I’d love to hear about them. Always great to learn from each other. Thanks for sharing and for being here-it means a lot!
@@Watch-Wined Don't worry, they grow with age. Hehe. I can't afford a Rolex so I bought a Seiko King Sumo in green. It looks and works fine since one year now.
I'd love it on a jubilee not oyster link
+1! I’d also love to see it on a Jubilee bracelet.
For small wrists the black bay is the choice. The proportions are just perfect. Vintage sub with all the modern updates. Plus if you wear a submariner 99% will assume its a fake 😅.
Thanks for your insight! The Tudor Black Bay 54 is definitely a great choice for those with smaller wrists, and the vintage look combined with modern updates gives it a unique edge. As for the Submariner, you’re right-it’s such an iconic watch that unfortunately, fakes are all too common, but owning a real one is still a great experience. Both watches have their own charm, and it’s all about what fits your style and wrist best. Appreciate your thoughts-keep them coming! By the way, loving your YT handle. Am a fellow crypto investor myself. 😎
Couldn’t see the Tudor through all the bling 😎
@@morganthau4448 😂 Thanks for watching! Will tone down on the bling. Sometimes it’s hard to outshine all that bling, but the Black Bay 54 still holds its own with that classic charm! Appreciate your comment!
Team Rolex! But if I were to get a Tudor I love how the Black Bay Chrono looks in the panda dial. There’s no way I will ever be able to find the panda dial Daytona for anywhere near retail price🫠
@@jaehaoh , love your passion for the classics! Team Rolex all the way, but I totally feel you on the Tudor Black Bay Chrono-those panda vibes are killer. It’s like the Daytona’s cooler, more approachable cousin. Plus, who doesn’t love a great-looking watch that won’t break the bank (or your sanity) trying to hunt it down? Thanks for watching-it’s what makes these discussions so fun! 🙏😎🍷
I love my Black Bay 54. It has been glued to my 6.5" wrist for a year and it's just exquisite 😊
Love to hear that! The Black Bay 54 is an absolute classic, and it sounds like it’s found the perfect home on your wrist. Thanks for watching!
I have this watch. I love the smaller size and vintage look. It’s easily one of my favorite watches.
Thanks for sharing! 🙌 The smaller size and vintage vibe definitely give it a unique charm-glad to hear it's one of your favorites! There’s just something about those classic proportions that make it stand out, right? Wear it in good health!
Sorry, distracted by all those rings.
😂 I'll remember to wear less. Thanks for watching!
Correction: At the 5:03 mark of the video, I meant to say 'Seiko's VK64,' not 'V64.'
I love my 41 mm submariner Starbucks
The Submariner Starbucks is a gorgeous piece. I love the green bezel. +1
The next watch I want to get!🤩 If only I could find at an AD!
If even this watch looks big on your wrist.... than how tiny is your wrist ...😮
My wrist is 6.75 inches circumference, so I aim for a balanced fit. Watches can look bigger, especially in close-ups or when zoomed in. Thanks for watching!
Your wrist is more like 5.75 inches bro! 6.75 inch is my wrist size and I have this watch and it looks tiny on my wrist
Never mind it’s just the close up camera distortion!!!
J économise pour m offrir ce model ci . Cadran blanc. Acier et or jaune . ❤
That's a cute plastic watch you have there.
Thanks for watching! While it may look cute, this watch has some interesting features worth checking out.
So dope!
If this thing had a glass crystal at least I would have bought one.
I hear you! A glass crystal would definitely be a nice touch. It’s funny how those little details can make or break a decision, right?
@Watch-Wined@@Watch-Wined for sure. I would want something replaceable at the very least since the crystal can get damaged so easily on these and it's sonically welded.
Nice video and beautiful watch
Thanks for watching!
Nice video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Looks like Ali Express....so ugly.
Sorry to hear you feel that way! Everyone’s taste in watches is different, and that’s what makes collecting so interesting. This piece has its own unique charm and appeals to a certain style. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and share your thoughts!
@@Watch-Wined ...yes, that's my personal Opinion. Please don't feel bothered by my Comment! 👍
Good size watch. I prefer the sea dweller size of 43mm but not the thickness.
The Sea-Dweller's 43mm really does hit that sweet spot for wrist presence without being too overwhelming. I hear you on the thickness-sometimes it can feel a bit chunky on the wrist.
Do you have the Sea Dweller 43 as well?
It’s the perfect size when you don’t have pencils for wrists
Glad you think so! It’s all about finding that perfect fit that complements your wrist, whether you’ve got pencils or not. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!
What is your wrist size?
My wrist size is 6.75” inches in circumference.
So informative, thank you for sharing
