Brandon Hegedus, Master Craftsman
In a suburban garage in Alberta, Canada, Brandon Hegedus builds eye-popping replicas of some of the world's rarest and most desirable performance cars.
We're talking cars that virtually no one can own because they are either so rare or valuable that the only option is to recreate them.
It all started as a personal challenge to replicate a 1961 Ferrari Tipo 156 "Sharknose" Formula 1 car (the originals no longer exist).
Using modern materials like carbon fiber, Brandon recreated the iconic Sharknose bodywork. Underneath, he used modern mechanicals that approximated the original performance of the Tipo 156, all tied to a scratch built frame. The result was a screamer of a car with stunning looks.
That first build got the attention of the media and created fantastic opportunities. Brandon is now a full-time builder who's bringing his clients' dream cars to life.

Impossible Journey: Peking to Paris, 1907 (With Kassia St. Clair)

The early days of the motorcar were troublesome, frustrating, and most of all, adventurous- if you agree that "adventure" by definition means there's a chance of risking life and limb. And why else would mankind attempt what might seem like folly or futility, other than for the excitement that adventure brings? Such was the case with the 1907 Peking to Paris Motorcar Challenge, a stunt invented...

Crossover Episode! With Ryan and Doug of The Steering Committee
I went to the Schlumph museum at Mulhouse. I enjoyed several happy hours looking at the wide variety of cars. If you love cars and find yourself in or around Mulhouse you wont be dissapointed with a visit.
I think the greatest travesty, for me, of this museum is that I was never aware of its existence until now. How many wonderful museums are not properly promoted I have to now wonder.
Hi, I am a huge fan of Brendon, I follow him on Instagram for a long time, and I really appreciate his work. It's nice to hear you in this podcast, you are my greatest motivation to keep going with my project. I love this podcast, thank you, both of you guys are great!!
Oh i am well aware of how out of control it can get!!!. I too have a 31 roadster. Same thing happening. Pulled the head decked it and new gasket. Over heating. Checked the valves one was bent. DOD a valve job. Still over heating. Rebuilt the carb (it was running super rich). Rebuilt the distributor, still over heating. Replaced the water pump. Still over heating. Pulled the radiator had it flushed out. Problem solved.
This is what a vilan would drive
Nice video
Bob Gurr is a national treasure! This was such a wonderful treat to watch.
I saw an old timer trick. Remove the spark plugs, and put some ripe down the 2 cylinders that are lower. Then crank over, to crack the head up.
Even the Museum Interior is 100 % Golden Age inspired, Style ,Grace and Beauty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for sharing the unquestionable Crown Jewels................Still grabbing for Breath!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SINCE YOU HAD EVERYTHING APART WHY NOT PAINT THE PARTS THEN TO FACTORY SPECIFIC COLORS .?
My good man..why would I do such a thing? 😂
Great video. Of course I like the Bugatti. But the Gatsby duesenberg is probably my favorite
Thanks, Coop. I sat in the SJN for twenty minutes and let me tell you, it was like heaven.
A great video with some great metal!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Under appreciated gem of the San Fernando Valley! Just off the 5 Freeway near the San Fernando Mission. Main building is free to enter, the other part requires a reservation. Definitely worth several visits. PS - these cars are drivable.
Thanks for watching!
Woohoo!!!
Watched all three parts of your interview....all three were excellent ....Bobby Green is a VERY interesting person doing great things to preserve history and tell"the story"👍
Thanks for watching- glad you enjoyed it!
You should always use a left hand drill bit ,works good !!!
That is often true. But trust me when I tell you that in this case, it wouldn't have made a difference.
If I were a billionaire, I would want one of them and ask Audi please build me one.
There nothing like a Model A
I agree. Simple, reliable, charming and fun!
Nice job guys !!! Thanks for the lessons about how to build a Model A engine. From Carlos in Brasil.
Bom dia Carlos!
4:20 that beat drop 😳
I thought it was appropriate ☺
This is amazing stuff. I'm way behind in understanding all of it, but recently "endured" the Monterey car madness week. More than my brain could process. However I am going to start following Horsepower Heritage. He's got a good grip of many things car related. I'm amazed at how he gets access to and interviews some very accomplished individuals. Hey Kevin Czinger - love the sports models but let's get to a "people's car". It worked for VW. IPO? When?
Thanks, glad you're enjoying the podcast!
Wow, you lucked out getting that head off so easily! Nice video, thanks for sharing.
Such a wonderfull era we could just imagined by this video ❤ love this channel
Thank you so much!
Music the whole time instead of enginesound (sound pollution as I call it...!) and lots and LOTS of talking. Who the f***k has done this video....? NOT a car lover, that's for sure....!
Thanks for watching! Don't forget to like and subscribe!
Enjoyed your rebuild video. I was wondering if you checked the brakes. I had a 30 coupe with mechanical brakes and I adjusted at least twice a week, driving to and from high school. (In the 60's not the 30's) even then they could be scary. Later acquired a 31 coupe that had hydrolic brakes from a later Ford. I'm looking at another model A but a convertable like yours. Unfortunately it has mechanical brakes so I'll want to change them over... I'll look for more stories from you. And your special tools too.
The brakes needed adjustment and they work well (for mechanical brakes). Thanks for watching and don't forget to like and subscribe !
KOOL MODEL A, I know you were glad to hear it fire up, love to hear a MODEL A run you folks did great, it sounds Good, keep it on the road, Thanks for sharing.
I put 6.1 high compression head on it and the model B intake and model B Carb woke that little thing right up
Spot on true vintage car guy
A fascinating machine. Thank you for the video Maurice
Cheers, my friend!
A dark spell? No USURY! No Pornography! No Hyper Inflation! No borrowing of Money! at interest! (central bank) A labor backed currency! (No Inflation) Hosted the Olympic Games within 3 yrs! Survived a communist revolution without a mass blood bath! No crime! A nation working as one for the greater good of the people! Built by the will of the people for the people! The rest of the world was in the Great Depression, Germany was flourishing? I WOULD SAY THATS A PARADISE ON EARTH!
Imagine this design with a modern efficient engine. 😲😲 It would be the most efficient by modern standards.
Prehistoric veyron
The audi r8 of their time
Why no engine note, maybe its confected bullshit
Not sure why they didn't release audio, but the engine is the real deal. Crosthwaite & Gardiner are a top-notch engineering firm. I certainly understand your skepticism, though!
les critiques sont gratuites,et al l ordre du jour ,c etait une autre époque, une guerre une union,le retour aux sources .🙂
very similar to Tatra
Yes! I agree with you.
Is it offered for commercial production, i.e., is it for sale?
No, it's basically a show car
What type of brakes and tyres?
Ferdinand Porsche was not a genius! He new nothing about real car design or construction! He was a mere mediocre designer.
Crazy hand made ! if Audi make all genious "Ferdy" Porsche projects alive: job for 100 years
ALUMINIUM
Let’s hear that enginge @audi 😅 It seems a bit rediculous to build this car 90 years too late and make a video without any sounds of the car 😂😂😂
I know right! Such a mistake not having engine sounds...
Felt really bad that we didn't get to hear what this masterpiece says.😢😢😢
If it works don´t fix it! The front looks an awful lot like the famous Embiricos Bentley whose body was built in Paris just before the start of WW II based on a then regualr Bentley chassis with a standard 4 1/2 liter engine. The design made the car so fast that it was even driven to Le Mans by a Brit with his family on board and raced at the 24 hours with top results at least three years in a row by then TEN years after it was built and delivered to its first owner who sold it because he was tired of having all the Bentley boffins test drive it for its first two years after completion.
Ford describes in his own book (think the one from 1922) how they reuse crating for floor boards. And about the sawmill.
Bellisimo
It resembles a VW beetle that got stretched around using photoshop
beetle long tail
bettle under steroid ! lol or beetle sleeping with record lake speed car = this !
@@jeff119990 Ferdinand Porsche got lazy on design lol
Germans making reverse engineering from a nat$i spaceship???

Disturbing beauty!! Nazi aesthetics at its best.
