I have two AC50s on my 10g guppy/endler tank. I have one of the new ones along with the old model. Definitely notice a difference in flow between the two. They do a nice job keeping the tank water clean. Great filters!

If I needed it and the scratches would be hidden in the tank, I would go ahead and install it. The fish won’t mind, but I typically pay close attention to the condition of items I buy. If something arrives damaged or not as described, I usually return it for a replacement.

i've bought over 10 aquaclear filters over the years and never had one come out of the box all chalky like that.

oh and yes very opinionated hobby^^ the spongefilter from fluval 10:48 is absolutely bad... to fine and it really does not hold up for very long... I bough some cheap noname intake sponge filters in a 12 pack from amazon and they are working... fluval one did cost as much as almost 8 of the noname and while the first noname is just got replaced (was still functional after 12months) the fluval started disintegrating after only 2months.

The filter media was not properly sealed and the dust made its way through the box and onto everything... could have scratched the plastic a bit... would give it a short rinse and see if it is still ok... and not worry too much about it... With the amount of fish you got in there you could easily get by with just the aqua clear 30 and some good siporax rings. and maybe some filter fleece that you occasionally wash out. In addition adding a lot more plants will do the trick as they offer more surface area for beneficial bacteria and filtration while also taking out more of the nutrients. You could easily hide the heater and the aqua clear intake in the corner with some moss , add some mossballs and maybe some fast growing hygrophilia pysperma sunset or something like that... all those would be probably far cheaper and more appealing than the additional filter... oh yeah and if you haven´t already some more neo caridina shrimps and some snails to help with waste management...

So you can’t afford 200-300$ stick But you can afford a jet speed and 2 all blacks Haha! 400$+ and you use both left and right shot that makes no sense 😂 Glad you retired the wooden twig yikes !

I’ve had tetras for two years now and I absolutely love them. When I first started out with fish, I had three tetras and a few other fish and I felt so bad when all the other fish died and I had one tetra left so now I have like seven or eight. ❤

Tetras are schooling fish so he definitely is happier now he has a school to roll with

This odd crescent shadow is caused by the same dynamic as a pinhole camera. It the way the light is filtering through the leaves.

We had a full eclipse in Cleveland. I went to watch it out in the country. Everything got so quite . It was like the apocalypse. Animals didn't make any noise
