why the mat-40 is not working on the yaesu ft-710 an works great on the yaesu ft-991A is there a software update for the mat-40?
The tuner we produce after January 1, 2023 can adapt well to FT-710. Our tuner will try to adapt to as many transmitters as possible, but we cannot guarantee that the tuner currently sold will be well adapted to transmitters that will only be sold in the future.

for the record my setup including amp is the same as in the video will not drop swr below 2.5 whereas my internal tuner drops it 1.1.1
This tuner will not tune what my radios internal tuner will, ive tried reaching out to the supplied email address and no response to tech support nothing im returning for a refund

Can this tuner be used as a general purpose wire antenna tuner without having to use the additional control cable? My feed point is over 100 feet away and my radio is old style radio without band data output.

I use the mAT 30 with my 450D and have done for the past 3 years. It is brilliant and tunes my highly compromised end fed half wave and vertical antennas with ease. No mistaking when it is tuning, the reliability of the device is amazing with a very infrequent need to retune as the antennas age.
Make a proper length / tuned antenna and you won’t need this thing. I learned to do it by myself @ age 14, if that.
property prices are a bit high for everyone have a field of single band dipoles.
I think the culprit here is NOT holding the "Tune" button long enough! It must be a "long" duration (a few seconds) press.
The bar should mark the max for longer. And maybe add a yellow mark showing the median power output.
Something is puzzling me, what's the rationale behind having 2 batteries and USB charging instead of a standard 12/13.8V input? I mean if this thing would be 200gr I'd say, ok you can bring it portable but at 1.2kg it stays in the shack and now we have to suss out a different way to power it? There must be a reason I dont see!
Maybe a few years back I would be asking the same but the 3.3v/5v USB-C is somewhat a standard now. Even most handhelds are going that way. VNA's etc.
The latest version has removed the unused DB9 socket and added an external power interface.
@@marklowe7431 well, it's weird to now have to get a noisy 12v to usbc device when you don't really need to... usbc is ubiquitous on devices because normal people dont have 12v everywhere they go :/
mAT-30 is supposed to be able to be used on FT-710, it will not work, all I get is a beep when you press tune.
Hello Sir Tuners sold after January 1, 2023 can only support FT-710, as this transmitter was only sold in China in 2023.

Can the tuner be operated with older tube amplifiers, e.g. an Ameritron AL-80B? As you are no doubt aware, voltage peaks can occur on the PTT line.
Your amplifier can use this tuner. Inside the tuner, only one relay is used to control the transmission of the PTT signal.
I have a Ft 891 and an FC 50 tuner for 2 years and never had this issue at all your video is misleading and you either are not pushing the button correctly or long enough or the link cable or is not inserted properly into the radio or FC50 tuner or this relates to your radio only

Hi, my name is Stanciu Marius, I'm from Romania, Bucharest, I'm an amateur radio operator, code YO3AEP. I have an icom 7300 and I want to purchase mAT-40 Automatic Antenna Tuner. I ask, does the control cable for the mAT-40 Automatic Antenna Tuner also work at a distance greater than 10 meters? I live on the ground floor, the block is 14 meters long, if I put a 20 meter UTP cable, does it work?
It's no problem. The control cable length of this tuner is allowed to reach 20 meters, as long as you use high-quality cables.

Are there plans to include serial data out in the future? I understand very few people need such a feature, but it would be fantastic for my setup.
We will cancel this socket in future products as it has not been used. If you really need a serial data output interface, we may produce a dedicated version in the future.
I bought one of these and it did not work properly,,, the LDG 1000Pro2 is a better choice

"brands" what's he talking about? It's "bands" not brands. In addition, why not use a constant CW signal rather than "ahhhhhhh". This is basic stuff guys, do your homework.
When tuning a frequency, do you transmit on SSB, or AM?
You don't need to set anything, the transmitter will automatically complete the settings and tuning.
Looks a great meter but average and PEP setting are a must if this option was available I would purchase to try but not without
Calculating and displaying an inaccurate PEP power result is certainly achievable. But doing so makes no sense.
As an operator it makes every bit of sense to check PEP output of my equipment in stead of going to AM FM CW ETC if this wasn't a valued feature then y is it standard on al pwr/swr meter currently available today

Seems to be a great addon wit a lot of features but ssb mode no avg/pep for me it's a big missing, so what i read was half power? correct only in cw/fm .. hope in the future with software upgrade can resolve the problem for ssb mode 73 de iz3qvb
Hello Sir If it is necessary to measure PEP power in SSB mode, a diode must be used. The nonlinear characteristics of the diode will be introduced, causing the measurement results to lose the expected accuracy.
There are PEP kits for the Bird 43. Please add PEP capabilities with accurate measurement and I'll purchase immediately.
Can you detect the mode and show on the screen? CW, SSB, AM?
@@mat-tunertuner4183 Hi, I am not sure that is true; there should be a way of measuring pep properly without the inaccuracy of diode-detection.
The mAt-705 tuner works very well - small and quiet. Mind you, you'll need to keep charging it. I get about 7 hours of contesting between charges. Another option is the LDG Z-100plus tuner. What an excellent video, thank you. This is the exact configuration I'm considering so this was very helpful. Very minor point for your future videos, the text should be "band" not "brand" but everyone knows what this means. I already have 2 mAT tuners and they work great, I will be buying one of these for the upgrade of my station, thanks again.

Yes.

I've seen on various TH-cam videos that the mAT-30 has difficulties getting a low SWR on 20-meters with a Yaesu FT-891. Have you been aware of thus? Is there a remedy?
