Can this tuner be used as a general purpose wire antenna tuner without having to use the additional control cable? My feed point is over 100 feet away and my radio is old style radio without band data output.
The tuner we produce after January 1, 2023 can adapt well to FT-710. Our tuner will try to adapt to as many transmitters as possible, but we cannot guarantee that the tuner currently sold will be well adapted to transmitters that will only be sold in the future.

I live on the ground floor, the block is 14 meters long, if I put a 20 meter UTP cable, does it work?
Most stupid award for control cable though. Why do you need a BIG waterproof connector at the back of the radio. That part is always going to be inside.

why the mat-40 is not working on the yaesu ft-710 an works great on the yaesu ft-991A is there a software update for the mat-40?

It's no problem. The control cable length of this tuner is allowed to reach 20 meters, as long as you use high-quality cables.
