Nice weyita! Yes, here in Mexico City, we have our own special version of spanish (some refer to it as Chilango) that includes words like "wey" (sometimes guey) to mean "dude." Also, we use "ito" on the end of all sorts of things as a diminuative. In this outtake, my friend cheers me on and calls me "dudette."
Globaldyana Arroyo Restaurant In DF Kids Bulls Food Fun
มุมมอง 1.4K15 ปีที่แล้ว
According to Wiki, Arroyo in Mexico City is the world's largest Mexican restuarant. It is also full of full for guest of all ages. The restaurant has serveral playgrounds for kids, face painters, balloon-twisting clowns - and also a Bull ring! The menu has a range of BB meats - my favorite is a BBQ goat that is cooked in a banana leaf underground. For the less stomach hardy, roast chicken and p...

Earthquake in Mexico City, Friday May 22 at 2:24 PM
มุมมอง 2.9K15 ปีที่แล้ว
Today, Friday May 22 2009, we felt the second strong earthquake in Mexico City in less than one month. Unlike those in San Francisco, earthquakes in Mexico City feel like being on a ship in choppy waters. This earthquake felt significantly longer than others and gained intensity as the 15 seconds event dragged on. We left our home and went for a walk; we saw many office workers outside of their...

Dyanainmexico.blip.tv to get the full story! Take me out to the ball game! Less than 30 minutes from Roma/Condesa by Metrobus (Chilapancingo) and Metro (Cuidad Deportes), Foro Sol stadium is home of the Diablos Rojos (Red Devils), Mexico City's baseball team. Not knowing what to expect, I found myself enjoying 5th row seats behind home plate for less than $6 USD with a plethora of Mexican cuisi...

มุมมอง 2K15 ปีที่แล้ว
Summary of 3-part interview (dyanainmexico.blip.tv); When Import Business Owner Juan Jose Garcia Caballero departed Mexico City to China on April 22, 2009, his greatest perceived challenge was to secure suppliers and make business relationships at a trade show in Guangzhou. Learning of Swine or H1N1 flu in Mexico, he was concerned for state-side Mexicans; however, as suppliers canceled meetings...

DyanainMexico1: Almost Normal in Mexico City
มุมมอง 26715 ปีที่แล้ว
The first weekend in May with a decreased health alert in Mexico City, many things return to normal but not quite. Elementary schools will screen children as they enter classrooms for symptoms (for anything) and many require students to bring their own bottle of hand sanitizer. Certainly, it is NOT a good time to have allergies in Mexico CIty.
DyanainMexico1: Condesa, The Soho of Mexico City
มุมมอง 9K15 ปีที่แล้ว
In front of a fountain on Calle (street) Amsterdam in Mexico City, I share the transition of Hippodromo de la Condesa from horse track to its present day version of fountains, parks, boutiques and restaurants. Often referred to as the Soho of Mexico City, perhaps Condesa better reflects a Soho of years past as small, independent boutiques still form the majority of businesses. A blend of Art De...
DyanainMexico1: Mask Effectiveness in an Epidemic
มุมมอง 44115 ปีที่แล้ว
After 2 weeks of grabbing a mask each time I leave the house, and many reports staying they are ineffective, I share how Masks are an important element of community, grass roots protection from the flu. In an outbreak where one may not show symptoms for 5 - 7 days, it is essential for everyone to wear a mask to protect others - certainly it is true that the mask will not stop other germs from c...

No that is not the reason why Mexico had more deaths due to the outbreak. One of the reasons is that many of the victims thought they just had a normal flu and they self medicate instead of going to see a doctor. It was impossible that there were no fatalities in Mexico, due to the fact that it was the first country hit by this possible new pandemic.

I have to clear a point. Before the H1N1 flu outbreak, the federal government was repairing the Cuztamal system that provides drinkable water to the city, due to that some Mexico City district were out of water for few hours during the weekends. Since the outbreak these repairs were canceled and the whole city had water. About the public health system I don't have a doubt about its inefficiency.
