If you mean that you are not planning to read six scorched roses - the novella to serpent and wings of night - I have to say that that was my favorite out of the three books 😂. I actually really liked it. Lilith and Vale are characters in the second book, it is worth to get to know them…

Oh yeah the ILOAL is slow at times but sometimes I don’t mind slow, as long as it is not boring 🤣

My understanding is that the mating bond is a gift from the Mother and not the cauldron.

@@ThePetiteReader I remember (vaguely) something about it being the cauldron now and the mother was lost to them or something or other. So could be cauldron made mating bond is different to mother’s mating bond. In general I mean, not just specific for Elain. I also think SJM has thrown in sooo many different breadcrumbs so that we don’t actually guess what she’s really going to do 😩

I did not get the impression in the books that Night or Autumn would care at all for Elain's love life.

It's not obligatory for Elain to choose Lucien...if she doesn't she doesn't...her loss :)

@@ThePetiteReader haha well I think if she didn’t choose him it would be best for both of them bc ultimately they should each have someone right for them that chooses them etc. I just know that SJM prefers her books to be focused on the females journey/choice etc. and the only reason I got the impression the night and autumn court would care, is because it is seen as though Elain belongs to Lucien in fae’s tradition about mating bonds. Hence Rhys forbidding Az from elain bc a blood duel could be declared and cause internal war which Rhys doesn’t want

But it also could be a slow burn friends to lovers vibe with Lucien and Elain if it is their book? I just don’t know why SJM would write Azriel as the one who ‘sees’ her and is always helping her and knows what she needs and specifically has dialogue to say it would be her mate that could figure out what was wrong and have Lucien in that same scene* not figure it out. Idk, she’s driving me crazy haha

SJM herself associates Elain with Spring and light in her books. We don't really know what Elain thinks or feels as it is not explained in the books. I hope we will get more of her in the upcoming books.

@@ThePetiteReader yeah I suppose, but I also think Elain had gotten settled with her family there and also her friendship with Nuala and cerridwen which really helped her get back to herself after the trauma, it wouldn’t make much sense for her to just leave it all behind for someone she’s mostly avoided? But I suppose it’s always possible she’ll decide to go there once the relationship has progressed enough. Though we do know some of what Elain thinks and feels because it was her dialogue that said ‘I am a part of the night court’ and was determined to go to court of nightmares to help. And SJM said next book will be about choice, so who knows maybe Elain will shock us all and choose something else entirely 😂😅

@@itsmilesy_ We will see what SJM creates...Reading ACOFAS and ACOSF I had this feeling that through Elain and Lucien SJM will dissect the mating bond. Can you fall in love with your mate in a preordained bond? Does the Mother/Fate knows better? Is it fate or is it choice? I have a feeling that we will make the conclusion it's both!🤣
