This channel is about me and my life style of riding bikes, and enjoying my life with the bikes I have. I currently ride a 2022 KLR 650 and a 2019 Honda Gold Wing Tour, and I will take either of those bikes, Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall over being in a cage. I do have to use a cage at times for work, but for the most part I am riding my bikes year round here in Northern Utah, and I love the freedom of being able to see and hear everything around me at all times.
We are talking about all the features on my camera
this channel is about my motorcycle lifestyle and what I do and how I use my motorcycles. I would ride a bike over being in a cage any day of the week, limited only by snow on the road I will ride all year around here in northern Utah.
here is the equipment I am using to make my videos.

12:20 great form 💪
right on thank you. I really didn't want to have to lift the bike at this stage, I was in high altitude and couldn't breath very well, but I had to get down off this trail because it was starting to rain. Right after I got down to the bottom and started heading home I was hit with a down pour...
$157 a month U.S.yikes that’s highway robbery 😮
yes it is especially since I am 57 and have never had a ticket or anything in my entire life.
Luv …. Ya still got Annie 🐱
she is never going any where till the end of her days that is.
NO seat belts in the 🚗 .?
it has lap belts, but not the shoulder belts.
Cool little car 👍, yup get some new comfy seats 💺
Yeah the seats are pretty hard.
Don’t let the bastards get ya down ! 😝 referring to yr GPS
this thing is always screwing me up one way or another..lol
The question you have to ask yourself is will you miss having that car if you sold it? I honestly like it and they don't make cars quite like that anymore because the closest thing that you could buy that would be brand new in terms of a small hatchback is going to be mainly all electronic. I think once you get it fixed up and everything, it will be almost like riding your bike since it's a 5 speed manual that you can whip around town in. Think of it as a project car that you can be proud of once it's finished. There are touch screen radios with android auto that you can have installed that will bluetooth to your phone and display maps on the screen of the radio and allow hands free calls through your cars speakers. I guess im getting ahead of myself and thinking of what I would do if it was my car lol
I do the same thing, I think of all the things I can do with it and how nice it will be once it's all fixed up but we will have to see what happens. I hate having dreams shattered so I try not to get ahead of myself to far...lol
I bought one of the cameras due to your review and comment. I gave them your channel name. Thank you.
Right on. If you have any questions about it let me know I have been using them for a very long time and they are awesome. I can help you with set up if needed or what ever. the hardest part is getting the lens set straight once you mount it on the helmet you will have to do some short rides and then put the video on the computer and see if you need to adjust the lens one way or the other just a touch. Let me know how you like it and if you need any advice I am here. By the way, if you got this exact camera, 4K will not be stabilized, but 2.7K will be, so don't shoot in 4K if you want the video to be stable.
Thanks for your kind reply about the weather not being cold enough for gloves. Please understand that my comment is for concern over your safety. Perhaps getting geared up seems a nuisance as to the time it takes to do it. Or it's great to have folks recognize that's it's you on that awesome motorcycle. Are you after the casual experience ? It's supposed to be fun, yet because of the surprises and inattentive box jockeys your well being is paramount. I am returning to this activity and the cost of almost every aspect of the sport is stunning. $400 for a good helmet, $400 for new tires, $1,747 for a new Aerostitch, $400 for excellent boots that will really help in a get off and $250 for gloves that truly protect. For me proper suiting up is akin to getting ready to assume a street pilot role. I hope this helps. Start with the gloves as an everytime habit. Ride well .
I am very happy for you that you are gearing up and being safe, and as for me, I have been riding for 38 years and just recently started wearing a helmet...lol I am always aware that something can happen and does happen, but you also have to remember that I have to get on and off my bike about 30 times a day since I am using my bike for the business. If you don't know I repair windshield chips. So in that it would be very difficult for me to be all geared up and wearing all that armor jacket pants and gloves and such. But I think it's a great idea for someone that is going on a long ride. I am on and off the bike so much that for me it don't make any sense. Now with all that being said, when I go out to play in the dirt I am fully protected, helmet, gloves, pants, jacket, the whole nine yards as it were.
Much respect my friend, Thanks for this video.
thank you very much.
This dude is hardcore or stupid - either way made a good video!
I believe I am a little of both...lol
No gloves ?
Not yet it's not that cold yet...lol
I did a few rebuilds of these type engines back in the day, one was a honda accord that was overheated, causing the rings to stick, It ran well but smoked, I also had an 87 mitsubishi mighty max, both inline 4 cylinders like the mazda. I pulled the head and oil pan, removed the rod caps, using something wood, rubber or plastic and push up on the rods from the bottom and popped the piston rod assembly out the top of the engine, honed the cylinders, replaced rings and popped them back in. The block never left the car. I bought re-ring kits for both. On the mitsubishi I did new timing belt n water pump and front crank seal. Didn't touch the head on any of these engines that I did, that I can remember. May have taken the mitsubishi head to the shop to have it checked, but I don't think I did, I think I just replaced the valve stem seals. The other two I never touched the heads b/c they were good running cars with ring issues. All of these engines ran great for many years. You will won't make sure to have the cooling system in good order as well, new thermostat, hoses, water pump and radiator. Good Luck!
I have rebuilt engines before but there is no room in the garage my brother has it so full of stuff I can't even work on the bike in there really. And I don't want to tear an engine apart outside either because with all the wind here it will get full of dirt. It's better if I can take it somewhere and have it done, but we will see what happens in the near future. I may decide to go another way but we will see.
I always get 50+ per gal.
This is an old video back when I first bought the bike, and being at higher elevation the bike needed to time to learn, but as of today I am getting between 48-51 Miles per gallon pretty consistently.
Ain’t that the truth about random car encounters. The dark side of statistics leans on those of us that need or choose to commute on motorcycles. People that don’t love riding will never understand.
that is very true, they could never understand.
Would like to hear more specifics on what exercises you are doing? Reps and such. Really weird why the GPS doesn't work on the bike, doesn't make any sense, I have practically no experience with GPS. Are you planning on fixing or replacing the windshield in your car? I like your content, down to earth.
I'm not giving specifics on the exercise till I know every thing is working for me the way it should. I have been bitching about the google maps on the phone taking me the wrong way and all sorts of things on the bike, every time I ride but now every time I drive the car it works perfectly...weird as hell for sure.
I had that same steering wheel cover years ago. Lol
this one came with the car...lol
Getting back into shape at home without gym membership too. It is definitely possible. I enjoyed your video.
right on good luck and thank you.
Looks like Jessee Pinkmans car
don't think I know who that is.
Lol cool ,Bill might be our Walter W in disguise
Yeah... New cars are way to expensive and are now throw away items made to last 5-7 years... Old cars and motorcycles are the way to go in my opinion.
yup we live in a disposable world for sure, buy it use it and dispose of it...lol
Funny, back in the day my dad bought a brand new red Chevy Chevette. It was a replacement for a blue 1976 Honda civic that he wrapped around a telephone pole. My first date car was an old 1968 Pontiac Wagon. Damn I’m getting old.
Yup we all get old for sure...lol But it sounds like you may have had a great first date any way. Those old wagons ran pretty good..
My vote, keep the "Little Red Wagon"👍
right on we will have to see where things go with it but that is the plan at this point in the game.
I hope you keep that, it’s such a nice little car, and when you fix it all up, I think it’ll do really well for you.
hopefully it will work out, it's a really nice little car for sure. and I do like it. but we will have to see what happens.
I think you should keep the car because I don't know anywhere else you would ever get a car that is in as good of shape as that one and for the same price. Whenever you decide to go grocery shopping or visit the wife that car will be perfect for that especially if the weather gets bad
I do like the little car for sure, we will have to see what happens and if I can get it to pass emissions and keep it for a while.
Sounds like a happy day for you!
it was a good day for sure.
You oughtta check into wrapping that car 🎉 ?
you know I did think about that at one point, we will have to see what happens.
It is nice to have a car when the weather is total crap. Or to go to the store to get something you can't carry on a bike.
the weather is the main concern for sure, I can pretty get anything I want on the bike...lol
Non owners insurance is a scam!
yes it is. They want you to pay almost the same price to not own a vehicle as if you do own a vehicle, and for what? it's not like they would ever have to pay anything out for you now owning a car...I mean it's sort of hard to have a claim on a non existent vehicle...lol
That car is in great condition for being a 91 and well worth the $500 you paid for it. The smoking under the hood could be either a valve cover gasket, an intake manifold gasket or simply a coolant leak. You could always try a bottle of Bar's Leaks One Seal Stop Leak and see if that fixes the smoking issue. Also should probably replace the oil with high mileage full synthetic because the shit in the engine is probably old and in need of changing.
The oil is actually pretty clean, but I am thinking that with as much power as this little car has it has to just be a valve seal gone bad or something and that is why the smoke is coming out the tail pipe, it's not coming from the engine bay at all. it's blows out some pretty good smoke when I really get on it but once I am up to speed I don't see any smoke at all. so I will just see what I can do with it and go from there.
They probably towed it behind an RV
You know I never thought of that but it does have a lot of miles on it, so they had to have driven it a lot as well.
Congrats on the new purchase I hope it works out and I have to say the stickers on the roof are awsome Id personally leave them lol
right on thank you. I might leave them there but they will get covered with the head liner..lol
Isn't it amazing that this functional car is the price of a motorcycle helmet these days? What kinda twisted world are we in?
I know right? lol
I wish the fucking kids nowadays would understand that a car is a tool and not a status symbol.
very true....
Hahaha, DOT helmet is worthless, they certify themselves and there's no oversight. If it's not ECE, you bought a toy. Also, HJC has the C10 at a $100, not saying model or expectations, simply throwing a price tag and complaining is useless. There's the HJC i71 ($230) and F71 ($350) with the same features, but I went for the latter because I wanted fiber glass instead of polycarbonate. To get to $600 territory with HJC we're talking about RPHA series, which is not intermediate or average. Anyway, I just wasted 3 minutes watching and not the full 20.
right on well I'm glad you wasted that three minutes with me instead of doing something else. Now If you would have watched the entire video, you would have seen that every shop I had gone to around here is only carrying the expensive helmets, that is what I was bitching about , I wanted to be able to just buy a helmet and not have to order one on line, but that is what I am going to have to do. Also I have a HJC full face helmet right now that I paid a lot less money for two years ago, but I wanted something different.
I like how the Bluetooth headset looks and how it fits on your helmet, but the audio isn't the greatest. Hopefully there are settlings to adjust the audio quality so that you can use it on a regular basis...
The voice you are hearing is a voice over, not audio from the head set. Like I said in the video, the mic for the camera is on the bottom of the device so all you will get is wind noise, I had to do a voice over to explain every thing and yes I hate doing voice overs because they never sound good at all...lol
@@mymotorcyclelifestyle Oh okay. I didn't pay that close attention to you saying that lol
it's all good, I could have taken a little more time on the video and recorded a better voice over with my recorder, but instead I just used the mic on the computer and it really does sound like shit. lol
You should look into advertising with the new NHL team
that would be very expensive I can assure you.
I am Chinese with a extremely round head and therefore the helmet internal shapes here do not fit my head. I order from Japan and have them shipped through proxy service. The Shoei Neotec 3 I just bought only cost me $650 with shipping included compared to the $900 sticker price here. The mark up is insane.
the mark up really is insane for sure.
Which knee braces are those? I need to do slow speed drills on pavement.
you know I picked these up the motorcycle chops, just asked them for them and they showed me where they were and I just tried on a few till I found the ones that fit correctly, they were not cheap but they will protect my legs if I crash out here in the rocks and dirt...lol
Dunlop d606 rear and motoz ‘duel venture’ front..Around 18psi both. It’ll have a lot more of that smooth tractor traction.
right on thanks for the advice.
It protects your LIFE. If your life is not worth 600 bucks than LMAO at your life decisions. Also, one drop from two feet and you HAVE to replace em or it will not do its job next time.
if you seen my other video where I had an incident for the fist time nearly 40 years of riding you will see that the 150 dollar helmet did its job just fine, I'm sorry but I can't see spending 600 or more on a helmet.
@@mymotorcyclelifestyle Ya its does its job. But you get what you pay for and I want a lightweight carbon fiber helmet for long trips. Enjoy your head weight.
Well maybe one day I will be able to afford a 2000 dollar helmet but to be honest I would most likely still never pay that much for a helmet...lol
Your helmet must be current Snell approved to be on a race track. I only ride full face and Snell. Usually Shoei. But, unlike you guys, I have been riding since 1966, raced AMA/WERA Superbike for 5 years in the late '70s and early 80s. Been all over the U.S. and Canada The idiot making this video has no idea what is going on. Just another ignorant poser. I paid over $500 for my Shoei helmets back in 1990. They cannot fix your head contents. This stupid ass does not even ride with gloves. POSER......and stupid.
L G helmet open face with flip up face shield and drop down sun sunshield. Very comfortable and lets me breath especially at stop lights. $95.000.
I have an open face helmet already but they are not very good when it's 20 degrees F outside and you are doing 70 MPH on the interstate...lol
I have an oval shaped head. As far as I can tell there's only one brand that makes one that fits my head, and it's one of the most expensive.
Well that sucks for sure.
If your looking for oval; Arai helmets are known to be VERY oval so much so that some people avoid them, on the other hand they are known to be of the highest quality AND on the high lvl of cost. Shoei are also known to be very oval, usually described as being semi oval, also on the higher end of the price scale. From what i have found most helmet company's offer budget/entry lvl versions, well you could start out with one of those and decide if a brand works and later on down the road move up to a higher price range. Best of luck, -Cheers
Thinking that a pricey helmet will save you better is simply retarded. It will only save manufacturer, not you!
A basic Shoei or Arai is about $1200 a , rather pricey.
In my opinion they are all getting out of control for sure.
Entry lvl Shoei is 399 /cycle gear , but shure you could find cheaper on the net. Yep Arai are costly , watch a few vids on youtube about the company and how there made (hand made individually done) company mission etc. Not saying there worth all that much but how much is your head worth? you only have one and there are no go backs (aka video game respawn) I agree prices are outa hand but a sandwitch cost 7$ a few years back now walking out a store 13$ yep not so fun 🤣. If you wondering, i myself went with a 350$ HJC it works for me. Best of luck, -Cheers
If you value your skull, you won't wear anything but an Arai - and $600 won't be quite enough enough for a SERIOUS Arai helmet that is truly going to protect you. - I don't mind paying even $1000, if it protects my face and brain in a wreck or a tornado. It's the bargain of the year, in my book! - THINK!!
You have to remember that I rode nearly 40 years without ever wearing a helmet, It's only been a little bit since I started wearing helmets and to be honest I don't like them enough to spend that kind of money on one, since I have been riding my entire life without one and I am still here, I don't like the idea of some costing as much as they are charging for them.
And how will $1000 helmet protect you more than a $100 helmet? They both must pass the ECE or DOT test. You are forgeting that your neck is the weakest chain link in head-body relation.
Thanks for the Arai salesman's opinion.
Arai helmets are hand made, whole dif ball game, people here comparing apples and oranges. You have to watch a couple of videos on how , why and what, company mission etc to understand it. I dont have one myself/maybe someday (im just fine for the time being with a HJC🤣). Production line Ford Bronco compared to a hand made Shelby Cobra 427 very different animals, just throwing it out there. Best of luck, -Cheers
@@mikein60fps30 Comparing two helmets which do the exact same job is like comparing apples to oranges? It's just as applicable to compare a production line F-22 to a homebuilt African junkyard airplane.
I've noticed over the past 15 or 20 years that manufacturers who mark certain items as medical, sport or safety will charge upwards of 3-5 times more than a manufacturer who makes the same item and doesn't list it specifically as one of those 3 things. It's how they get over on a lot of people who fall for their marketing.
I won't be falling for the marketing scam at all. I just know that all the stores around here only carry the expensive stuff not any of the cheaper ones. They make it sound like this is your only choice, and some people may fall for that crap but I know better, and I will be looking on line to see what I can find.
If you can only find full face helmets for more than $600, I believe you have some serious problems with how to search for products.
Oh If you watched the video you would know that I can find them, but not in the shops around here. Sure I can buy them all day long on line, but I was hoping to just pick one up and that didn't happen because every where I went they only carry the most expensive ones now.
Learned to ride off road on a KLR. First drop was due to bike rolling back on an uphill I stalled on. Applying the rear brake every stop is must skill in this terrain. Second it seems risky, but a bit more speed and standing changes the whole dynamic. Things feel easier and take less energy.
good stuff thank you.
I bought a full face helmet for first time, got on "sale" for 400😂. THE regular price was 500. I'm shocked at why motorcycle helmets are so insanely costly. And 400$ seems to be on the cheaper side. It's FUKIN NUTS.i don't get it man. I just don't get it. Is it inflation or just plain price gouging?
to me it seems more like price gouging, because a helmet is not something you buy weekly or monthly, so the price should not really be affected that much by inflation.
