So.... Turns out the real reason that TF2 is so popular is due to the number of players being artificially inflated by bots. About three quarters of the "players" are bots. The overwhelming majority of them idling. So only a very small amount (if I remember something like 3, or 0.3?) of those bots are actually cheaters. Somebody who works at Valve even admitted to Uncle Dane that they had to delete thousands of accounts. Accounts which just returned a couple of days later. The rising player count is due to Valve putting less and less effort into cracking down on these bots. This doesn't mean TF2 is dead, the player count isn't decreasing. It just hasn't increased since the last update either. Tf2 is just.... Kinda limping along. Very much in need of medical attention.

If it’s so dead why do I get into games in less then a minute. If it’s so embarrassing why is blizzard still making money and still in business. You wanna know why because people still play the game and don’t care.

valve only has 360 employees, so they probably have lots of em in steam, theres not much people in the tf2 part tho

It helps that the roots of TF2 dates back to it being a Quake mod, where rocket jumping itself was a new and unintended (probably?) feature.

i'm no Overwatch fan but just for the failure of Overwatch 2 i'm pissed off because it had a lot of potential but what annoys me the most will always be the poor treatment of female employes by Blizzard

I raged more at this game due to performance issues and lag than any other game. But I still love it. And love makes you irrational.

They just need to either remake tf2 like csgo to cs2 or release tf3 or something like that, imagine this game with a fully new engine, even more (hopefully not cheap) depth characters, more playstyles for characters and all, it would be played like a ton and I'm sure valve knows it too I just can't believe that they are not gonna make anything new with this ip it is totally madness

It's a perfect game. I don't really know what you want from a nearly 20 year old game. Just play it for what it is.
