    • @LivinginPrinceGeorge
      @LivinginPrinceGeorge ปีที่แล้ว

      I do plan to do an updated version soon. The problem is that the proper statistics are hard to find here in BC, and PRince George specifically, so its a lot of leg work to try and make them as accurate as possible by cross referencing and finding various sources, etc. As an easy statistic to keep in mind, is that for cost of living, Prince George is still around 48-52% more affordable than basically any larger city south of Kamloops. I hope that helps for the short term! If you have any questions prior to, or after your move, please dont hesitate to reach out to me at 250-251-5800. 🙂

    I do not care how much you make, BE CAREFUL! cost of living is on the individual(s) just like he said, take it with a grain of salt (a $50.00 grain - ok so i like buying russian salt). this topic is the hardest to do or try to figure out. as a guard (for an example) you make low wages (unless you hit lucky and get a good job some wheres), now at the end of the day you come home (for an example only) to your apartment (that you feel is perfect), the guy next door, same apartment (so much so, some times you find him passed out on your sofa), he is the head manager of Uncle Ben's Beer (old beer company in Prince George and in reality he would have been living at Uncle Ben's mansion but for the sake of arguing (no beer, not arguing untill i get my Kokanee) . now he has everything you do and the same car (its prince george, everyone has the same car - just kidding (i hope)). the thing is he may bring in (for an example) $5,000.00 a month while you bring in halve that. you spend more carefully to get the same thing. you go to super store, while he shops at the fancy food stores, you buy clothes the same as his but with out the label where he goes to the fancy clothes store and buys the exact same pants but with that label on it, he get lots of insurance, you get lots of beer, he pays back student loans, you are a brainless twit (ya thats me i am talking about), he drives all over, you some times walk and take the bus, he buys speciality food, you go out and pick the speciality foods, he went to UVIC, you went to CNC (much better place) and so on and so. Like I said TOUGH VIDEO TO DO because you have to spend your money wisely. the other guy dose too (so I found out) but has a 2nd bank account for just in case moments.

    remember, if you want to move to prince george, as a labourer, make sure you have a job before moving (or stay with friends while the family is still back where ever), other wise, make sure you have the right training and right schooling. its not as simple and as easy pleasy as this guy makes it. once you have a job in prince george and it pays good, do not be a big city person and quit. good jobs in prince geroge do not come around to often. even low paying jobs. even low paying jobs in prince george do not come around to often and when it dose, work your butt off to show that you are valuable to the company. low paying jobs lead to much better jobs to so take what you can get unless you are already trained.

    • @LivinginPrinceGeorge
      @LivinginPrinceGeorge 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Joey, you are correct. It helps to have a job lined up , but that's true of anywhere you move. The same is true for having a skillset or past experience to make yourself more "hireable". But there are plenty of jobs out there for anyone who isn't adverse to hard work. Best of luck to anyone moving here! :)

      @@LivinginPrinceGeorge The people who see your videos should realise its not all roses and Champaign like you make it out to be in Prince George. There is a reason why Prince George stagnates and dose not grow quickly like other places in BC and Alberta.. People like you just go out and paint everything so rosy and its not. Its a great place but it has not been so ROSEY like you put it since the 1950s and even some what in the 1960s. the time period where you could have just showed your face to a company and have a job with in a week if not that day. people need to know unless they have some sort of degree or several years of experience, there could be a good chance they well either whined up on welfare or living in one of the old tramp holes by the river across from the cut banks. and allot of the time it is not what you know but whom you know. • @LivinginPrinceGeorge
      @LivinginPrinceGeorge 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mr. K, thanks for watching and commenting! To be honest, that's not a statistic I keep on top of, so I'll do my best to share what I do know! Given that a lot of tech jobs are by nature able to be done remotely and adding to the fact that the last 2.5 years many companies had to switch to remote work if they weren't already doing so, leads me to believe that the opportunity to hold a great tech job, from a city where the cost of living is still about 56% more affordable than any other large cities in BC, could be a very appealing one to many people in the tech sector. Add to the fact how much incredible nature we have all around us, it's no wonder my friend who recently landed a job with Google has decided to stay here, rather than relocate to their headquarters. I hope that helps! Don't forget to subscribe if you haven't already, I truly appreciate you giving me your attention for the time that you did 🤟🏼🙏

      No-one can predict with certainty what the spring and summer will bring next year, however, here in Prince George , all signs are pointing towards our hom values remaining at their current level or even going up a bit more potentially , because the Inventory of homes for sale remains low and the buyer interest , and new buyers entering the city continues to remain strong. If you have any other questions, feel free to call or text me at 250-251-5800. Have a great day!

      The overlay measurements are only approximate, as they are added in by hand in post production, so the actual property line will have the proper setbacks when locating the PINs in the ground

    I lived in Prince George for 22 years and feel quite blessed to finally be able to leave...i left a few years ago . I raised my daughter there and when she entered high school the peer pressure of drugs and alcohol are immense...she said basically "all" the kids were mingling with it and with fentanyl mixed in drugs now adays that is a very concerning matter ...she said that most of her freinds parents did some type of drug or alcohol as well. I was also in a good neighborhood and had theft in my yard...and the stories through the years shhesh . As the years went by it progressively declined....i left a few years ago and freinds have told me it is much much worse now...i was told of a few fatal overdoses that have occured in the young since i left...i am now in Edmonton best decision ever and loving it...great hospitals, schools, nice wooded walking trails all through the city and some nice ravines and river through it...cheap cheap housing and less tax and major airport ...ok fantastic shopping too and my amazon deliveries are at my door in a couple days 😁....i also found people much freindlier...i wish i would have come years ago

    You mention moving cross country from Ottawa to Prince George, can you make a video about rhat? Ie: how you did it, where you stayed before you bought a house in BC etc. My wife and I are highly considering relocating from Southern Ontario (London) to Prince George area. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

      Hi Rob! That's a great Video idea. I can definitely create one about that. I kind of cheated as so grew up here, so we stayed with family for a few days until our house that we bought was ready to move into and then we were all set. Obviously there are a few more steps, but I'll cover those in the video. :) Feel free to shoot me a text or a call if you have any questions about the process :) 250-251-5800

      Well I've never been to Northern Manitoba, but i know the prairies get a lot of the cutting wind and such due to the nature of the topography. Here in PG, it does get windy at times, and the temperatures have been known to dip down to -30 during the winters on occasions, but its usually a fairly predictable winter. I hope that helps?! haha
