I set out to explore and find a sheltered beach island campsite right by the water. There were soo many amazing spots to camp at and enjoy. A multi day camp in one of New Zealand's awesome World Heritage Parks. Weather was amazing but freezing cold temperatures at night tested my current gear to the absolute limit. I made a video of my very first overnight backpacking trip. It wasn't a long trail, but was a great way to test out all my brand new gear. It was an awesome experience for me. I hope you like it!!

Taheke falls, on the out-skirts of Whangarei, is an easy walk in to view the falls from the top. The best view thou, is from the bottom. Up until now, the way down has eluded me. Its a very steep descent, but definitely worth the bush bash. I finally found a way down!!
