I traveled to Bermuda on the Oceania Nautica Cruise Ship. My cruise was titled Celts, Scots and Vikings; however, I realized once I boarded that the cruise was also booked as two separate cruises: A Viking's Crossing and Bermuda Palette. For me the cruise was 25 days long and Bermuda was the final destination. On this cruise, I had traveled to Scotland, Faro Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Canada,...

Thanks for the video 🎉🎉🎉😊 slc airport is only a couple of years old.Be greatful you were on Delta.
Yes, I assumed it was fairly new. Very nicely done! I've been going through LAX to make connections, but I'm definitely going to search for SLC from now on. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Watching your video makes me remember how nice it is to live in such a unique spot where you have large open waters all the way to mountain trails. It’s a nice quiet spot with lots of great shops and eateries. Remember not to take it for granted.
Interesting timing on your comment. My daughter moved out of Burlingame, but just went back to visit and told me how much she missed it. It's true we take too much for granted. I was sorry to see her leave because I loved the area, but the commute was too much!
you must be crazy promotion this time.
I'm not sure what you mean. I have not monetized this channel.
Just curious what happened in your prior experiences in Boston that made you like it less than this time around? Thanks for the great video!
Well, I drove into major construction in Boston on my first trip and going anywhere was a nightmare. My second was a three-day trip with a girlfriend and we walked all over the city. I thought I'd pretty much seen the city, but after the Duck Boat Tour, I realized I'd missed much of the city...and many of its most charming or exciting neighborhoods. Third time's a charm!
Just curious how did you get one fifth the price?
By flying on Christmas Day, late at night! It wasn't a convenient time and I had to stay two more nights in Santiago, but it was worth it to have a business class seat for that long of a flight. It worked out well because hotel rates in Santiago were only about $100 a night. Xmas, Thanksgiving and New Year's Day often have cheaper rates if you book the ticket right about the time when people are generally celebrating.
Best video I ever seen yet on Lindblad and the Resolution. I leave the day after Thanksgiving and can’t wait for this trip!!!
Oh, thanks so much. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Have a fabulous trip...it is a life changer!
Thank you. Beautiful scenery and looks safe to walk solo.
I think my route was very safe. There are some trails that go deeper into the park that I won't vouch for, but it felt very safe where I hiked. Truly beautiful redwoods!
Sorry, but this isn’t a United flight. Especially since United retired 747s back in 2017. This is a Lufthansa flight, but you probably booked it u dear United’s website. United and Lufthansa share flights as they are both members of the Star Alliances, which allow them to make some money on other airlines’ flights within the same alliance (great review though!)
Oh, interesting. Yes, I booked through United. Thanks for sharing!
Ha, I just watched it again and it says Lufthansa on the TV screen!
Could you tell me the nationality of the crew members?
They were from all over the map and they had no problem speaking and understanding English. It was a friendly and responsive crew.
Looks like a mammoth journey with great variation. Thank you
Thanks for watching! It was certainly a long and, yes, diverse trip!
Thanks for the video 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
Nice 👍 Thanks 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for describing the east and west side of Scottsdale Old Town. Helps us plan and understand the festive culture
Glad you found it helpful. Thanks for sharing!
That looks like a really nice thing to do.
It was! I had a blast and enjoyed the quick overview of the city.
Your thumbnail is 200 meters from my old house. I loved that lighthouse😊. I’m 1000s of nautical miles from there now, sailing in Mexico Baja Peninsula. I hope to make it back there on my boat.
That's wild! Beautiful and scenic place. It sounds like you are enjoying some fun travels! Enjoy!
We just got back from tokyo last friday and had the same issues with the op on hop off bus! There were no markings for stops. The driver drove right by us. When we arrived to the starting point he was so rude to us. They wouldn't listen. They were so unorganized we went to complain then all of them didn't know english. So we asked for our money and took the subways and walked. It was brutal walking. DO NOT TAKE THE HOP ON OFF BUS. I believe there is another tour bus that is much better.
Sorry, you suffered too! I agree that a tour bus would have been a better option, although I think you'd still have to deal with slow traffic. Because the exchange rate was so good, I defaulted to taxis. I've heard other people rave about the ease in the public transportation, but you are right...it still requires a lot of walking! I think anyone visiting Toyko should plan to get their steps in!
I enjoyed your video thank you!!
I'm so glad! Thanks for sharing!
Fundy is high on my list. My son lives in New Brunswick and I am visiting him right now. Thanks for this video. I will probably drive here from Ontario and carry on to Fundy next summer. 😊 So excited.
Beautiful country for sure! Enjoy!

Wow. Why would you need 3 collared shirts? So much long underwear. Can you not do any laundry on ship?
There was no self-laundry on the ship and I wouldn't have wanted to spend the limited time during the adventure doing it. Collared shirts were my choice to wear at dinner, but you can make your own choice....and once I was on board, I realized this ship was very casual and you could wear just about anything to dinner. Some people dressed up; some people were more casual. There was a captain's table dinner where people put a little more effort into their attire.
How did you know while walking on the fast ice that there wasn't a crevace?
They send scouts out a couple hours before each destination to figure out the route. We were assured the ice was very thick and could handle our weight...so we trusted the captain and experts on board.
We took it on a Baltic Sea cruise. Awesome trip.
Glad you liked it! Happy travels!
We've cruised on this ship about 3 yrs ago, and liked it so much going again in December, Miami to Los Angelses. Prior cruise was easter mediterranean, Israel to Italy. Bit of a rough start, but that was more to do with Israel.
Glad you enjoyed it! I hope your second cruise is as fabulous as your first. Cheers!
I think we may be on the same cruise! Departing Miami Dec 23?
We are looking at doing the British Isles. Trying to figure out whether it would be better by cruise or by land. Any thoughts?
I think I would choose land. Trains are easy throughout the British Isles and the landscape is lovely. And if you are comfortable driving on the left side, renting a car in Ireland is the best. If you plan to travel all over the Isles, don't miss the Ring of Kerry, Windsor Castle, and Glencoe. Those were my faves. Happy Travels!
Thanks for such a quick reply. What I am seeing is you need 3 weeks to by land.
I guess it depends on how thorough you want to be! Three weeks should give you enough time to fully explore. Good luck!
Quick question: does the entrance is door to door with Penthouse or is on the side?
I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. As far as I know, all stateroom doors enter from a hallway. My inside stateroom entered into a secondary hallway that ran perpendicular to the ship. Please clarify your question, if I didn't answer you! Cheers.
As the boat excursion was cancelled I wondered how your ship coped with the seas, was it uncomfortable? Thanks
We often had rocky seas on the entire trip. Fortunately, I don't get seasick, but there were others that did. From what I understand, the north Atlantic is generally rougher than other oceans.
@@seniorsolotravel Thank you
What date did you take this cruise?
Aug 24-Sept 18. I booked one long cruise, but when I got on the ship, I learned that it was two cruises for most passengers. I guess I got some rare package that combined the North Atlantic cruise with a Bermuda Cruise.
Hi, like the video, very well put together! I've been looking at possibly going to Seoul for a solo trip, do you think it's easy enough for someone who is used to going to europe and doesn't speak much korean?
I was a little apprehensive too, but I thought it was fairly easy. Definitely spend some time to figure out the public transportation and download Google Translator, if you haven't already. Other than that, I think you will be fine. It seemed many people spoke English, so I really didn't have a problem. If I did run into a communication issue, they often pulled out Google Translator before me! Very friendly people. Good luck and happy travels!
@@seniorsolotravel Great, thanks for the reply! I have practiced using the papago which seems to be a good translator so that's a start! I've heard from some people eating out solo can be hard in South Korea, did you have that issue or does it seem to be easy enough to do?
My first day in Seoul worried me, because I wandered and didn't find anything to eat that seemed simple, easy and palatable. However, once I discovered that most of the coffee shops (and there are a plethora of them) serve good salads and sandwiches, I was able to find good quick food. Just so you know, I'm not one that likes to sit down to fancy meals when I travel. I just want to grab something, find a nice bench and enjoy the views and people watching while I eat. And yes, I've heard Papago works well too. Enjoy!
I just want a pancake and breakfast
When you travel?
Hi, I'm going to Scotland next month. Does the bus make frequent stop for toilets during the tour? Thank you.
I had read other reviews that complained about it, but we never drove more than a couple hours without a stop.
Celts is pronounced "kelts"
Whoops....I knew that! Must have had Boston Celtics on my brain! Thanks for watching. Cheers!
@seniorsolotravel You're most welcome. Theres a famous football team in Scotland, called Celtic, but pronounced Seltic. Yet, It's derivative is Celt, pronounced Kelt! Makes no sense whatsoever. Thank you for your most interesting video. I would like to subscribe. Cheers
Oh, that's interesting--even more confusion! Thanks for subscribing!
This was the mark 7 right? I was thinking of this camera for the same location. How did the battery last in the weather? How good was the zoom compared to your iphone? I feel like if I had a huge interchangeable lens camera I wouldn't use it as much
Either 7 or 8. The camera isn't with me now, so I can't check. I had the same thought as you....that I wouldn't use the big heavy camera. However, I was sorry I didn't have a better one, even for taking photos off the ship. My biggest problem was the small screen to frame the pictures. It was just hard to see compared to the iPhone, especially with blinding white all around. If you don't have eye issues, then it will probably work better for you. The pictures were definitely higher resolution than my iPhone, but not as good of a zoom as I observed from other passengers with interchangeable zoom lenses. In summary, it is a good camera and certainly lightweight, but it has its limitations when compared to interchangeable lens cameras. It wasn't quite the compromise solution I was looking for; however, I have used it frequently on other trips.
@@seniorsolotravel Thanks! Were the people with the zoom lenses amateurs? I feel like I have no idea how to do anything other than point and shoot which is why this camera was appealing. Although its really expensive
I think most of them had experience with the cameras. It was definitely easier just to take photos with my phone when I was out on an excursion, because you are fumbling with gloves and trying to frame pictures quickly. It's hard for me to say whether it will be worth it for you. If you don't have to wear glasses, then it might be just fine. My sunglasses made the view screen turn black, so I couldn't see what I was framing. It is a nice camera, though. I'm with you regarding the ease of use.
What time of year did you travel to Scotland?
September. Encountered rain and wind, but I think that is fairly normal. Had some nice days too.
Hi dear, can you visit our Country ? And we can travel together ..im a senior also

Oh wow. Good to know. And that's wonderful it is your career choice...you must be brave!! Thanks for sharing the info!
Since you had 5 hours, you could have exited the airport via the arrivals level and went to the exclusive Delta One check-in area which is also on the same level re-cleared security and head back airside. This way we would have seen what it looks like for departing passengers flying Delta One from LAX.
I asked the attendant about the exclusive check in, and she told me that since I had checked my bags through to Edinburgh and already had a boarding pass, I would just be directed to the lounge no matter what entrance I used. I fly through LAX often, so hopefully I'll get a better understanding next time. Thanks for watching and happy travels!
@@seniorsolotravel This is one of those situations where you shouldn't have asked any agents. If you have a chance to fly Lufthansa First Class and connecting in Frankfurt to another LH flight DO NOT ask anyone. Instead head through arrivals/baggage claim, exit the airport and keep walking towards the First Class Terminal.
Sounds like good advice...thanks!
Very cool. Glad the passenger was okay!
Yes. We received another report that he is doing well!
Scotland on my bucket list. Love hearing about places to visit! ❤
You'll love it!
The truth? The layout /seats for a 3,000 + ticket is not the best. Who can sleep with no privacy?
I guess everyone is different. I can sleep without privacy if I have an eye mask and ear plugs; however, the seat has to lay completely flat. That is my priority. And, I don't want someone stepping over me! The private cubicles are the best, if you can afford it.
@@seniorsolotravel I understand that but if you are a solo travel this layout is not the best. Privacy is a must.
The 380's have the WORST Business Seat arrangements. The 777 has staggered seating, so no need to step over anyone and much more privacy.
Good info. Thanks for sharing.
I have been doing that (traveling solo) after I had my first bad experience with a co-worker
It only takes one bad experience!
Wonderful information, thank you! What month was your trip?
Thanks for watching. I went in June and the weather was pretty perfect! Happy Travels!
Thank you fort the video! I came across your video because I'm creating an itinerary with 2 seniors and 2 middle aged adults with joint problems in mind. I knew there'd be a lot of steps involved so I was trying to check out which sites would be easiest for seniors but after watching this, I realized that we'll probably miss a lot of places 😅
Thanks for the positive feedback. I'm happy to hear it was helpful. There may be some places where you can at least see part of the destination and avoid steps. You may want to do a little more research before you write off a destination that you were looking forward to seeing. But, yes, I put in way too many steps in Tokyo and am still recovering!!
