Porsche GT3 R Rennsport, Breaks All Rules!
Porsche GT3 R Rennsport, Breaks All Rules!
Autohounders, it’s been a minute! Huge thanks to Karl Leinsing and Porsche of Nashua for letting us showcase their video of the incredible 2024 Porsche GT3 R Rennsport!
Porsche has redefined the limits of a track-only machine with the 911 GT3 R Rennsport, a car so powerful and aerodynamically advanced that it’s banned under FIA competition rules. Based on the 911 GT3 R, this beast throws out the rulebook to explore what’s possible when you’re not bound by regulations designed for events like Le Mans or the Daytona 24.
The Rennsport, envisioned by Porsche designers Grant Larson and Thorsten Klein, is low, long, and unapologetically aggressive. While the hood and roof are carried over from the standard GT3 R, every other body panel is unique. Custom air intakes, ground effects, and a massive rear wing pay homage to the Brumos Porsche 935/77, a Daytona 24 Hours champion, while creating levels of downforce so extreme Porsche had to reinforce the supports.
Inside, the focus is pure racing. Mirrors are replaced by a three-camera system feeding a cockpit display, while the stripped interior, single seat, and integrated roll cage eliminate all distractions.
Underneath, the Rennsport borrows from its GT3 R sibling but turns the volume up. Custom Michelin tires and precision-tuned KW shocks deliver grip and control, while lightweight components like titanium-backed brakes and a reduced-weight fuel tank shed precious pounds. The 4.2-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine roars with 620 horsepower, significantly outpacing the GT3 R’s 557 hp. Coupled with a six-speed sequential gearbox and E25 bioethanol compatibility, this powertrain makes for a track experience like no other.
Available in seven colors, including the striking Ruby Star, the Rennsport can also sport one of three liveries inspired by Porsche’s racing history. Its 18-inch BBS wheels meet competition specs, even if this car itself is anything but conventional.
Only 77 units will be produced, each priced at $1,046,000. This rare, adrenaline-charged masterpiece is the epitome of Porsche’s engineering brilliance.
So buckle up, Autohound fam, and embrace the raw power of the GT3 R Rennsport. In the end, it’s about the drive. Thanks again to Karl Leinsing and Porsche of Nashua for sharing this stunning car with us! 🚗

My daily driver!
Awesome car!
I'd trade them both of my 914 Porsches for this one! This car is awesome 😎👍.
It’s insane l, that’s for sure. 👍
Are those one off wheels? Or are those on the market?
They are exclusive to that car.
GO DO YOUR OIL CHANGE NOW
lol. I get it done every 3k miles. I won’t trust myself to remember otherwise Lol
clown car
Come on. They are nice wheels
Certified with 8k miles for $35k. I think it’s worth it.
Be sure to get the warranty.
bought one for 27k$ 2023 21k miles
@ buy the warranty
Would you purchase this vehicle? I need to know cause I may be purchasing today or tomorrow! Thank you for your honest review.
Thanks for reaching out. I’m in the camp of British cars are pricey to fix and still have bugs to work out. If you buy it, be sure to add the bumper to bumper warranty, the infotainment alone is three grand and that controls everything in the car. That being said get a pre purchase inspection if you do buy it. That’s my legalese. I had the choice to buy out my wife’s Jaguar e-pace (same car basically) and we opted for a Toyota RAV4 because we were done with all the repairs even though everything was under warranty. We hated to drive it because something would always need to be fixed or replaced. So. No. I would not. Best. Autohound
Sorry I see you already answered my question in your video.
@@ToOpen6sevenit’s all good.
@@autohound7099 Thanks again buddy and your just don't know how helpful your video and your responses have been to me. I am also looking at a used e-pace. I love Toyota products and that was all I drove (two Toyotas and two lexuses) but in 2022 I purchased a 2022 BMW x4 m40i -- love this car but looking to see to get some cash out of it and with the difference purchase the disco sport or the f-pace, but not I don't know if that is a good idea. One good thing also about Toyota is they hold their value very well, so in my case the non toyota cars are cheaper than the lexus I had some interest in.
Your welcome. I look the realized cost of ownership including downtime. My EPace was in the shop 9 times for different issues in 3 years. That’s too much. Granted. Warranty covered most, but looking at the cost of the infotainment alone was so prohibitive that I could not justify keeping it. It was a wonderfully fun car to own, just quirky under the hood. As for other cars, American, You may want to look at the Explorer or the Tahoe. Foreign car, it’s hard to pass on Toyota, but their build quality is starting to wane. Too much competition for them, so they are trending towards less expensive materials in their engines, thus more issues. All the best and when you get your new car. Lmk.
Sweet
What Porsche day was this? Dealer initiated? I didn’t see any PCA event… edit: oh! Saw the description… Porsche Nashua. I’m further south so Norwell is the dealer that would do similar things… did they convince you to upgrade yet? ;)
This was a Porsche Nashua/Norwell collaboration. I am seriously thinking the 911T is my next one.
Batman? Is that you
Yes sir, lol
This is a one of 7 car
Then I’m happy I got it for you all.
Fun day at the track. But is there any other day unless you're in the pit trying to get the thing to run.
Nah. They are very reliable cars.
@@autohound7099 I'm sorry I wasn't referring to these cars being in the pits. I was thinking more of modified dirt class.
Ah, they have the Dakar, but for 250k, I wouldn’t take it off road too much. 😂
@@autohound7099 well I don't have $250 to spend on car. But I sure like to watch them. Since back in the later 80s mid-90s somewhere in there. I bought two Porsche 914s. Still have them. Over the years I've had 911 & 944 as well. The 928 we're selling so cheap back in the 90s. Tell about 10 years ago and people started buying them. But back in the 90s, they still look great and they were selling for less than a Ford of the same year. Well I can only stuff so many of them in the barn anyway
@CAROLDDISCOVER-FINDER2525 I hear ya. I have 1 spot for my car. That’s it. I love driving the other cars that don’t belong to me. 😂
Did you go today?
Yes sir.
Sure it's cool. It's engine with a little bit of body and four tires but this thing was wicked in it's day
I want to drive it so bad!
@@autohound7099 I'd watch you drive it but I think those days are a little behind me now. NOT 🚫! I'd love to drive it to. Just not as aggressively as I once would!
@CAROLDDISCOVER-FINDER2525 I’m going to talk to the owner to see what I can do.
@@autohound7099 I was just talking that I would like to drive something like this. You're talking as you know the owner. Go for it! 👍
@CAROLDDISCOVER-FINDER2525 I don’t know him. Just met him briefly and shared my info with him. It’s hit or miss with that. So. Here’s hoping 🤞
Great
What a collection of red cars!
If you get a chance. Go see it in person. Quite cool
Had the Performance Red coupe years ago, was a great car.
Drives so nice
Who cares. It's your car. If it gets swirl marks you can do a paint correction and it will look new again. My 2004 E63 has been through hundreds of car washes over the years and I just buff it out every 4-5 years or so.
Thank you
Never really understood both having the money to buy cars like this, but then not pay for scheduled detailing or even missing maintenance intervals. But hey I don't own a porsche and never will, unless I find a reasonably priced 944 🤷
Ok, well. I always perform the maintenance on the car. The previous owner deferred the spark plugs and it cost me 1700 bucks. So I will always take care of that. As far as detailing, I used to be able to do that, but blew out my back and it’s challenging. The car has full PPF on the front and a three year ceramic coating. As for affordable Porsches. The Boxster 986 is about 12-14k for one in nice condition. The 944’s are actually higher and that is my next purchase if the wife allows it. But I do thank you for the comment.
@@autohound7099 oh well that's totally understandable, I suppose my original comment was made thinking about young guys that had that kind of money from easily secured positions. I especially understand the physical aspects of vehicle care because although I am young, my job certainly beats me up well enough that getting up and getting out on my off days doesn't always occur as it should. Enjoy it however it brings you the most joy, some people never enjoy their cars when they get too obsessed over details. I'll be getting my first new sports car soon and building a garage to keep it as well as doing a post purchase paint correction and ppf install. Some may say that's overkill for an MX-5 but it's what makes the most sense and within reason for my income so I want to treat it with as much care and respect as it deserves for something so relatively expensive.
@zenkoz3158 hey there. All cars deserve love and a Miata especially. They are what brought back the little convertibles and had it not been for them. Porsche never would have released the Boxster. Share pics. Put it on line and drive it every chance you get. My car will never be a garage queen and I make sure of that. If you’re ever in Boston. Lmk. You can take it with me on a drive.
@@autohound7099 absolutely, Im way down east Alabama but my wife and I certainly look forward to taking it around most of the US so I'll probably make it there eventually. It will be pampered when it comes to maintaining it mechanically and visually but I'm definitely not going to be shy about mileage. Luckily I'm in good hands with trusting Mazda that It'll last as long as I could ever want it to.
100%. If you find yourself in Boston. Let me know. My wife and I will be more than happy to say hello.
Still have to deal with left over water marks, doesn't spray under the car where the most dirt is, and your crazy if you don't think a high powered pressure washer doesn't spray around all the dirt in the place and scratch the surface of the paint.
Thank you. I’ll take that in mind.
The chemicals are the problem bud. Says so in the manual. And ALL luxury brands tell you that, not just Porsche.
The car has a 3year ceramic coating
Some argue that the chemicals used in those no-touch car washes are a lot harsher to the paint and other materials on the car compared to regular car washes, simply because these can’t rely on a brush scrubbing the dirt away. So I am still not so sure about it being a good solution. Plus, I enjoy hand washing my car!
Thanks for the input, I really do appreciate it!
Great review. Thanks very helpful
Thank you. I appreciate that.
Wow a Ferrari lover!!! Just kidding.
Lol
Resale red
Yes sir

Those are two different crashes
@fssl90 like I said. Courtesy of New Bedford Guide. Still pretty awful stuff
They learned how to drive from gta
Lol
These are two different videos
Really? Thanks for the update
Of the same car smh🤦🏽♂️people really don’t pay attention nowadays
Two different collisions then because there is no white Mercedes changing lanes in the first video and different cars getting hit. I think the first part of the clip shown is the second collision and the rear view clip is the first one.
Neighbors with the hard R
Definitely
Yes sir ❤
❤💯💯💯💯💯💯
I love the back end of this car.
Sounds like an interesting car from reading the windshield card. I don’t believe Ford made a 2.8 Essex v6 though, that’s a 2.8 cologne v6
Nobody in the US would own that junk.
It’s not junk. It’s a collection that was cultivated over 70 years. Very impressive.
👋 I’d buy that
TVR one of the best cars made
Oh shit that’s crazy!
That’s what I thought too
Farrier
What treat! She is mint 👌
Gorgeous car
I thought the floor was carpet and the car was one of those race car beds I need to go to sleep
I know. It’s a wild place.
😮💨🔥
Was that a little drift?
Nah. Just pushing a little hard. 😂
I'll stick with my moped.
😂
I wouldn’t know anything about that lol I buy shit box’s I don’t want 1500 dollar payment for the rest of my life
lol. My payment is 400.
This is actually an 003. They are both incredible cars.
