After suffering get launched into the river on their way for lunch... Spin and his friend must stop the impending zombie apocalypse that has caused havoc upon the area. It is up to them to stop Dr. Franklin and Sheriff Chester Rockwood's scheme to convert the living to the undead. Putting an end to the gory feast that these zombies hunger for.
At long last, Part 2 of They Hunger is here! This one was in the oven for a long time due to busy schedules, holiday season, and other video projects. Initially I was wanting to record a Christmas special but with Holiday season getting in the way, I really couldn't spare some time for that. But thankfully, this will make up for it. I really enjoyed working on this and it honestly feels like a step up over Part 1 in a multitude of ways. Hope you all enjoy!

@@SpinDashed93 Wait. I remember that there is a rocket launcher weapon in Duke Nukem. So The Devastator weapon does not have its counterpart in Doom or Quake.
Finally more difficult levels that carry some of Blood's original level of rudeness and merciless assault of enemies around every corner Also this mod seems to love transition levels lol (not that im complaining - the bloated butchers getting hit by a car is pretty funny) I hope you had a good Christmas :D

this is so stupid , i thought getting as many different kills gets the score up but obviously it doesnt... my runs looked alot ''better'' and simply not possible to gain a gold medal... all u have to do is headshot with the mg .... pretty boring sadly
Admittedly, it’s not the most stylish way. (Trust me I wanted to goof around) but it makes for good aim training.
There is another unofficial "secret" when you enter the final room where you view the helipad and exit the level. Outside the building you're in, there's a message that says, "YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE HERE... EITHER." But you'll need to enable noclip to view that. Same thing with E3M1 when you're about to exit the level and you can view E3M2 from the small window.
What an interesting secret, I didn't know that was there until you pointed it out. I always enjoy a hidden message that the map makers throw in. It adds personality to it
i tried to play some levels but for some reason a few had repeating sounds that wouldnt stop, blood mods are a mind fudge
It doesn't help either that BPF hasn't been updated in years too. Had to do some tinkering with the ART files since Episode 1 would not work. Thankfully I found a fix from the GOG forums. Newer mods such as Death Wish and Trauma Therapy should be a lot easier since they have active developers that use the newest versions of the source ports. What version you playing?
I played on the Steam version which now includes Spear of Destiny in one package. Source port used is ECWolf for modern resolutions and frame rate.

Really big change in atmosphere with this level :D Some of the areas in it strongly remind me of Sunstorm Interactive expansion packs for other boomer shooters, especially the Duke Nukem and Shadow Warrior expansions The Truman Show reference (8:53) caught me by surprise, as I haven't heard that Caleb voice line (because the movie came out a year after Blood did :3) Makes me wonder if they hired Stephan Weyte, hired an impersonator, or if they used AI programs to make it sound like him
This level is quite the stark contrast. It sure does remind me of Sunstorm now that you think about it. As for the Truman Show reference, that voice line came from Blood 2: The Chosen. Not a great sequel sadly, but we get more official Caleb voices lines at least.

I know this video is like a year old, but does actually amping the difficulty actually increase your score, or just unlock the platinum medal as an option
Yes. What increasing the difficulty does here is that you'll qualify to unlock the next medal. I am Death Incarnate difficulty can only get you the gold medal while Uber difficulty is necessary to unlock platinum. If you're going for 100% achievements on The Old Blood, all you would have to do is just play I am Death Incarnate Difficulty for the gold medals.
That level was HUGE :O Sometimes maybe too big, feels kinda like a maze at parts D: Though the music, while being out of place, is really funny Once again the atmosphere playing a HUGE part in the level design, it's adorable :3
For sure. One of my personal favorite levels from this episode. It is also much more challenging too which is a huge plus in my book. Perfect level for the Christmas season!

The atmosphere in this mod is outstanding :O The winter/christmas aesthetic works so well and is also really pretty. I may be biased because winter is my favorite season, but still :3 Also, is there any difference between NBlood and BloodGDX? The sound effects in NBlood seem to be a bit sharper (and, in turn, louder and more ear-grating)
Glad you enjoyed! As for the ports, BloodGDX (now called BuildGDX) is different since it uses Java as its base to play the game. Its solid but mouse movement is a bit off. It’s easy to set up and is now compatible with other Build Engine games plus the port works with most add ons and level packs that have been updated recently. nBlood uses EDuke32 as its source code and it works with most of the newer mods that are being released on Moddb. The sound is more crisp, mouse movement feels smoother, and I like the alternative hud. Really it is more of a personal preference than anything else.
Really miss this game. Played it almost everyday when i first bought it.
I liked the reference to Greek mythology reference with the river Styx, even though the Greek mythology theme isnt kept throughout the level D: I assume the first secret was some sort of developer exit? I have no idea what purpose it would serve as they could have walked straight to the end, but who knows :]
It is a mystery regarding that one secret. Guess we’ll see if that will be addressed once 2.0 comes around. In the mean time, I got Bloody Pulp Fiction lined up to be the next walkthrough. This one will be a lot tougher and longer this time around!
The Devs of Forspoken, Concord and Dustborn should be forced to play this game.

The atmosphere in these levels is really well crafted, I actually really liked them :D I believe the last enemy on the first (technically second) level was the zombie that struck you with the axe at the end? Unless it was just an animation
I couldn't agree more. I enjoyed the atmosphere in these two levels. As for the kill count, I believe the zombie is just an animation. Got to remember too that Bloodlines is still in beta, so hopefully soon the enemy count will be addressed in a future update.
I really like the atmosphere in this level, very spooky and eerie. The secrets are a bit sadistic, but it's kinda funny in a weird way. I hope the next artistic levels are as impressive as the episode 2 ones D:
The atmosphere is really nice in this level. I liked the backtracking the most and I agree, the secret is both morbid but humorous in a twisted way. Next two levels aren’t as dreamlike as episode 2, but they are both unique in their own way. That’s gonna be another two in one episode for sure.
This was super entertaining to watch! suprised you dont have more views. One small criticsm i have is that your mic sometimes is a tiny bit too quiet and your voice kinda drowns out when the game plays a stinger or gets louder its really hard to hear you. Otherwise good video :)

I didn't expect the silent film level to be so appealing, the Nosferatu reference made me pretty giddy. I expected something pretty underwhelming from this episode but I was completely blown away by the levels. Also the lack of cultists is pretty funny because you'd expect every level to only have low level enemies like the usual rats and spiders and then you get a face full of lead from 2 cultists
Nightmare at 15 fps was by far my favorite level in this episode. Really one of the most unique and artistic levels I've played. I should also mention that this entire episode has not one single set of armor which makes those two cultists in the hotel hallway really tough so that secret life seed is a life saver. Up next, Episode 3 is going to be a mixture of both episodes 1 & 2. with both combat and narrative driven levels. That's a short episode too.
At first I thought this would be a level-to-level shooter, but I was bit disappointed when I realized it's a wave shooter. Normally, I'm not a very big fan of wave shooters, but the mobility options make this look really fun to just fly around and kill enemies in cool ways. The colors and lighting are VERY pretty, but god is it SO SO red. There's so much red. But the purple and blue areas are very visually striking and beautiful, and it makes me wish the rest of the game was as bright and easy to read
I too think the waves can drag on but the mobility and combat make up for it. I agree the red is a bit excessive especially with the enemy outlines behind walls blending in. Once you get to the second map it isn't as bad since there is more variance in colors.

I'm surprised there's so little secrets in these later levels compared to early ones, makes me miss the funny stuff D: Though I suppose the lack of secrets makes up for the much larger and more open areas. (Also it's pretty funny how they make you fight Cerberus to make up for the lack of difficulty)
For sure. Once all the hitscanners are delt with, this level isn't hard at all. I find it strange too that the level has two official secrets but then you got all these non-secrets jumbled in like the Skull Key location and the red building with the Hell Hound and three Cultists. Cerberus can one shot but getting up close with the tesla cannon and the dynamite trap make this fight trivial. Now Episode 2 of Bloodlines: "Perchance to Dream" is going to be even more of a cakewalk since it takes a more artistic approach with very little enemies.

I often wonder if you have notes taken or a cheat sheet of sorts with every enemy and secret marked on it, or if it just comes down to replaying the levels repeatedly until you develop perfect muscle memory The car ride transition level was also really cool, it's interesting to see how modders utilize the primitive engine in creative ways :D
I do practice runs for these levels before recording plus it helps too I've played this mod several times in the past. I too thought the car ride was a neat touch. It reminds me of the Bloody Pulp Fiction custom episode. In that mod, there are several level transitions where Caleb drives a car. I may want to come back to that mod too when I get the chance.

I plan on it. This time I'll be more consistent for that series. Got sidetracked too many times. Right now I'm going to get some more Halloween content ready to go.

Apologies in advance for the age restriction. Guess this level is too spicy with all the babes and the full frontal mannequin. I've re-uploaded this with one censor to see if it will make a difference, but it's clear that didn't work. I'm not gonna go back and censor this video any further. It's wild that Red Light District is perfectly fine but this isn't. 🙄
it's so strange when blood isn't being absurdly cruel to the player, it feels wrong. The level design is interesting, but i think the secrets are the best part, going for the more comedic approach with some gives it a unique personality :D
Agreed. Bloodlines isn’t the hardest mod but it sure is a visually striking one for that matter. I loved the secrets in this one too. “No soup for you!”
i never looked into blood modding that much, but i'm glad the community is still kicking (haha get it) and trying to keep the game fresh :D

I didn’t die 10 times on the crane section. (That would be bad) Throughout this entire series, I kept a record of all the times I died on this difficulty. Ironically enough most of my deaths were all accidental. 😅 My 9th death was when I tried to kill a Libarian two episodes ago.
