This clip, likely captured during a trip through the upper mid-west that included stops in Sturgis, SD and Deluth, MN, is consistent with some photographs Vivian Maier took that featured clouds and sky. vivianmaierphotography.com/ Driven by her sequestered, private motivations, Vivian Maier captured our cities, suburbs and rural towns. A nanny for many years, herself childless, Maier revealed t...
What happened to her accent?..
Beautiful Video, thanks to bring this story together of Vivians Life. Thanks for sharing with us. 👍📷🍀
Beautiful! She said: 'at the end there is another beginning" She believed in Heaven after this Life. Wonderful, I'll she here there since I didn't have a chance to meet her is this life.
Absolute legend .
You take what passes for "street photography" today in YT videos from dozens of 20-somethings wandering the urban and small town streets with their Leicas and Mamiya 7II and stack all of that output up against what Maier did in the 1950s with one Rolleiflex, and today's product looks like random snaphots by a bunch of children.
1940s to 1960s art kept women out.
The narrator sounds familiar. Almost like a relative. In the other room when you had a fever. And you just remembered. After.
And all without PhotoShop
the narration was really corny but the photos are magnificent!!!!
The children ? Some of them despised Vivian.
This is such shit!!!
I remember the first time I watched "Finding Vivian Maier" , and heard how John Maloof aquired Vivian's outstanding photographs ..... ........ for a long time , I thought to myself, I was more intrigued by the mystery of her life than actually admiring her work. Not true - when I revisited her catalog and got reacquainted with her vast number of incredible photos, I quickly realized, it IS and was her talent ! I mean, of course the sense of mystery about her is alluring and irresistible, but aside from that, the photos and the way she approached her art more than stand up as remarkable, once in a lifetime pieces of art, you don't just go out with a camera and willy -nilly , BOOM, start taking shots on her level . as a amateur photographer and having a sibling who does it for a living (even tho his work is not really art, per se) I know a little on the technical aspects of the discipline......
IS this her-own narrative or your story!!!???? or people have their own stories ????/
It takes extraordinary things to make me stop, to reflect my life and the hairs on my arms to stand on end... bless you Vivian, you did it. I am honoured to share a little time with you.
It is weird, dead woman is talking about her past. It is stupid idea. It kind looks disrespectful to order person to talk about herself after her death, and use for it unpleasant voice of the old woman. Why don't use normal narration like in the PBS documentaries? If you don't have the original recording of that person, don't fake it. It looks like a comedy, it is disrespectful.
the genius of herself, thank you Vivian for what you have left in this world wherever you are know you are and you will be remembered forever
Should have used a 1950s Nanny French accent
I think Vivian would not be pleased by the narration and the excessive contrast and lack of shadow detail of many of the images. The lack of image fidelity is a contemporary style that undermines her exceptional technique.
Maybe mute this and just watch the incredible photographs.
The most insane story. This women would have been world famous had she marketed her work. These are some of the most beautifully composed images I have eVer seen. And without major pretentiousness.
I knew her. Met her in North Rogers Park, Chicago, along the lake. She was pretty feeble, pretty out of it when I talked to her while walking along East Lake Terrace. She didn’t know. She was going to be famous. She wanted to take care of older people like my mom but I changed the subject. It was obvious she wasn’t strong enough. I’m very sorry I didn’t pay more attention to her.
Entirely appropriate opening music.
Fascinating person.
WOW. FANTASTIC NARRATION.

Absolutely brilliant, moving, and enthralling. I'm a priest and take many funerals, this is the best tribute or eulogy I have ever heard!
120mm B&W film quality rivals digital.
Thank you for the lovely documentary, very sensitive and touching tribute to a very talented photographer.
purity in photography explained
I find it weird that her father was Austrian and his name was "Charles" and not Karl.
In my opinion She was tue most important photographer of the 900’s.
Heavenly!
well done. left me wanting to know so much more. :)
WOW. RS. Canada.
Great video watched the film finding vivian maire years ago and have been interested in her work ever since .Interesting subject Thanks
I’ve spent most of my life looking through the lens of my viewfinder
So beautiful. I love her work.
สวยมากๆครับ
well i guess she had her art, her work and in general wasnt interested in the shitty world. her photos are remarkably flawless captured. but the developing is forever the work of others
Thanks for sharing. Wonderful photos from a fascinating woman. Pictures that tell of the past and show life as it really was. Add to that this lively narrative voice, I could listen for hours.
I'm not too sure she would have wanted this...
beautiful
No one has ever eaten so much of me as her. i want to know her. but no matter what i do. i only get more questions.

Good morning, Please consider donating to our fundraiser through Cash App: $4Morante This fundraiser is to help in purchasing new camera equipment. My camera ( The lens, camera body, microphone, and storage card that were attached, and inside) broke after an electrical shock (static electricity) caused a fire flash to the electrical components of my equipment. It no longer turns on, charges, basically frying it for lack of the proper terms. It was about 6 years old, and out of warranty, along with repair places saying the parts can not be fixed. I used this camera for my job as a photographer. Without it, I'm unable to earn the money needed to support our family. My husband has been very ill, with liver disease, and we incur large medical bills on a regular basis. Because of his illness, he is not able to work. Please help with whatever you are able. No amount is ever to small. Please share this with your friends, and family if your unable to donate. Your prayers for our family are very much needed, because my husband is immunocomprimised, and during Covid, he is extremely susceptible to getting more sick, and possibly dying if he were to catch the virus. It's extremely hard, because he was always the main provider. Now he is unable to help in supporting our large family. The doctors feel that it would just place him back in the hospital, again. I believe in prayer, and with the Lords help He will get us through this. My husband may at some point need a liver transplant, so I'm trying to use my skills as a photographer, to earn the money. Our insurance may not cover his preexisting condition. I'm at a loss, so I appreciate everyone's help in getting the news out, about the fundraiser, so I can earn the money to provide the things our family needs, and to pay for any medical costs/treatment. God bless, you all! Mrs.Morante
